I have to admit, I was pretty stoked when I discovered it had a bottle opener...
My girlfriend and I were in palm springs a few years back, it was early April, 100 degrees and we were dying for a thirst quenching beer.
Our choices were craft and bottles that were NOT twist top. I can't believe even Walgreens didn't have a bottle opener. I'm pretty good at getting off on a solid counter, but that day we were in a thirst dilemma
I can open a bottle with anything hard enough. However once I had a meeting with colleagues from all over the globe, we was abroad, in the night, at a small sleepy town, with all stores closed. We had a bottle of wine, and besides I opened the bottle by pulling the cork in, I deeply regret not having a knife with a corkscrew!
I have two of these. One of these is a backup and one is always in my picnic basket.
Perfect knife for wine and cheese/fondue picnics ! The 2 blades can handle bread and hard cheeses (the main blade) and soft cheeses (the blade with holes). The fork is handy for fondues or simply skewering cheese. Add the corkscrew for your wine and the cap lifter for your real bottled beer and you are good to go :-) Just tried to order one but Victorinox Canada has it as "out of stock".
There should be a link in the description for the video for Amazon. You can check there and see if they are in stock.
I believe the cheese blade is good enough for hard cheese as well.
Anyway, this knife is a must-have for me!
The CheeseMaster turns Simple McDonald’s Chicken nuggets Into an special event.
Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.
I really like this one too. Not sure exactly why I like it so much, but I do. :)
Nice!
=o I didnt even see the bottle opener until now
Im not going to lie. Im thinking about getting this as my EDC knife for the office. Knives look sharp for food. Always need a bottle opener for 5pm!
I think this one is a pretty cool SAK. It seems like it would be a great lunch/picnic knife.
DO IT SHANE YOU'LL BE THE TALK OF THE TOWN
Of course it is NOT a cheese fork but a fondue fork and fondue is a biiig thing in Switzerland 🇨🇭.
This is a picnic pocket knife. You get a bread-knife, a cheese knife with a cheese fork at its tip!, and then an actual fork to use however, and two types of bottle openers for the beverages of the family.
This all might be strange to Americans with their sliced "bread" and "cheese" but here actual bread, actual cheese and wine are guaranteed additions to every lunch.
After dogging on it, your comment makes a lot of sense. I could see throwing this into a picnic basket, with a bottle of wine and a chunk of cheese with some nice bread. Now, it makes more sense.
Furthermore, it actually seems useful. You don't need to carry all that silverware, when you can have a compact, inoffensive looking all in one unit. Still can't say I'd buy one. I am one of those "Americans".
@@73twall I would not buy one, too. No time for pic-nic :( maybe sometime in the unforeseeable future... But it is a good utensil if you are trying to eat something actually enjoyable.
Yep. It's much more of a European thing I think but yeah some quality cheese, rustic bread and a good bottle of wine sit down and enjoy a summers evening with friends.
us americans do know the lovely addition of cheese and bread, its incredible
I want a victorinox with a spoon,knife,chopsticks and fork.
I saw a Victorinox cutlery set. It had an actual fork and spoon. Not attached to a knife, just in there. I doubt that would count though. :)
What knife are you using to open the blades on this ?
I think that is a Watchmaker with that blade being used to open pressure fit case backs
The holes are supposed to help the cheese not stick to the knife, after you cut the cheese. I heard that a long time ago. This is definitely really weird but I want 1. 😆 🤣 😂
What was the other knife you used to open the box?
I was thinking the same thing
I want that.
It's a cool knife. Also currently available. Amazon should have them. Link to amazon and the SAKWiki page for the knife in the description.
パンとチーズとワインの有る生活なら、ハッキリ言ってソムリエナイフよりも遥かに優秀なナイフですね。
「パンとチーズとワイン」の生活なら、絶対に1本持って居ましたね。
they need a bread master know
OMG. This has to be the epitome of strange. You're at a cheese and wine event, and you forgo all the fancy silverware to use a SAK cheese knife. LMAO! Or, perhaps you are in the wild, and just need that perfect knife for your brie and Cabernet at the campsite. What demographic is this aiming at? It's funnier than most Wenger stuff, man. It makes for a great video subject. Thumbs up!
It is kind of a strange one isn't it. :)
Now that I’ve had two toes amputated. I haven’t been able to go in the woods with my OH Trekker. But I still go to steak houses with salad bars with section for cheese blocks. My Cheesemaster makes the wheels of Swiss quiver in terror!!❤️😉👍
It’s money well spent
Victorinox is SOOO ridiculously close here. A specialized cheese knife? Good! You actually need that. Especially if you’re on vacation and you’re picking up som nice cheese for the evening. Now, will you be drinking Coca Cola with that cheese? Of course not! Wine is what you want. Wine and cheese go together. My point is that the wine knife and the cheese knife should not be two knives, but one! The Victorinox Wine & Cheese Master. Cool video though! Nice voice, good points and clear audio and video. Keep up the good work!
Thank you.
Do you think the different knives (Wine vs Cheese) has anything to do with the sizes? The Cheese Master is 111mm while the Wine Master is 130mm. Could the larger size be somehow to help with wine opening or something maybe?
White Glove Reviews Different knives due to different size requirements? Possibly. I suspect however that they did not see the synergies in combining the two. Size and weight of the tool would likely not be an issue for most wine and cheese “use scenarios”, so having one (slightly larger) combined knife should be fine, in my view. What do you think?
@@HamletNOR Not really sure. I feel like with the Wine Master, they were kind of going for an image or feel. It had natural wood scales, etc. Maybe they were going for a picnic feel with the Cheese Master and that was the reason?
@@WhiteGloveReviews Thank you for your videos, I really like them.
Yes, actually the extra 2cm makes a big difference. The wine master has an extra long corkscrew, that allows you to secure the cork better, and avoid cork to break which often happens. And the two step lever also requires extra length. I guess that is the reason they designed that way.
At that size the main blade is more elongated, aesthetically nicer than the normal pocket knives of the brand. I just bought one today, can't love the wine master more, it is just elegant. I hope they could redesign the cheese master, put a wood cover instead of simple red plastic. The cheese master is just not as beautiful, not elegant, that's why I did not buy today, to complete the pair.
These two knives will never be for everyday use, they are never for the majority people either. They are for the ones who appreciate the brand's innovations, and will to support. I could imagine I open a bottle of nice wine with the elegant wine master in front of my guests, but I can't cut good cheese with the cheese master. Please Victorinox, redesign the outer look of the.cheese master, it is too ugly.
Whiny voice. Cheesy video. Forking nice knife. I'm in a pickle.
thats a grate pun there.
