I had two swiss army rangers both of which I lost. The second one I lost in 1999. I just bought the swiss champ and I am so happy. It feels just the same way as it has always done the shear quality and finesse is still there. In these truly uncertain it may sound naive and stupid but having a Victorinox makes me feel better. Subscribed and liked.

I happen to be on my second, when I lost the first one, my next action was to visit Ross Cutlery, {DTLA, CA}, & buy my second [@$105]; lost without it, too useful to do without.

After using the Swisschamp for a while I can say that the lens will start a fire with plenty of sun and good, dry tinder. The small screwdriver on the tip of the bottle opener is designed as a 2D Philips driver and it works very well on most screws. The notch on the cap lifter helps to bend or loop small hardened wire as well as strip any insulated wire that fits such as speaker or phone wire. Useful for straightening and bending the split ring into a fishing hook for example. The wood saw actually does become thinner as you measure from just above the teeth to the spine. You can see the machining marks where it was milled to make it less likely to get stuck while cutting. Also the crimp behind the pliers fits small split shot for fishing weights and the wire cutter will cut the same size wire that fits the stripping/bending notch. Useful for small snare wire or steel leaders for fishing.

Good video. Very thorough. I believe the flat tip of the can opener is for digging out the can lid as sometimes the lid falls into the can or bends in. The wire striper is only to hold the wire while you use the main blade as a guillotine to cut the wire insulation. I found the pliers very useful too. I use it to pull stubborn sewing needles when sewing leather and holding paracord while I melt the ends with a lighter. I have also used it for heavy duty work and put a lot of force on the handles and to my surprise never suffered damage. Victorinox Swiss champ is my favorite only because it has 90 percent of all tools Victorinox makes. With it, you truly do not need any other Swiss Army knives other than the Cyber models which comes with a bit driver and bits. By the way, I subscribed. :-)

The wood saw is actually thinner on the top than the teeth side. The "edge file" on the file tool is actually a metal saw.

I have only seen translucant red or blue scales before.
I own a solid dark green Spartan.
The see thru ones you have here look really cool.

The chisel is used with the ground side down for more control, & that is why it is on that side of the knife, [otherwise it tends to dig into the surface.]
The cork screw has many uses, such as using the tip as a micro- scraper, very useful.
Tooth pick also has a lot of uses,
    (might want to buy extra).
The tip of the file cleans under finger nails, etc.
The new magnifiers are not so good, cheap plastic. 😮
The slot of many screws are narrow, so a narrow driver is vital!
    The pliers are great.
There is a way to set up the pen to use it as a compass.
Many videos to learn uses for all of the tools: Educate yourself, not just guess & be puzzeled in ignoance, raise the bar!
    God bless.

Hey Joe, thank you for the review. I now own the black scaled version, but the translucent scales look amazing too. I did try the Spirit MX, and I found it was not for me. I am not a plier based MT user, and most of the time if I need a pliers, they need to have jaws like a Vice-Grip or a Channel-Lock. I have owned a Hercules before, and the Vic pliers work for some of the small tasks I have put them through, like pulling out staples from wood, tightening a car battery bolt, and their wire cutters work extremely well for cutting guitar strings. The other think that I missed while carrying the Spirit MX, were the scale tools. It seems that when I did not have them available, is when I needed them the most. The Champ also has the inline Phillips screwdriver, another tool that was on the Hercules that I know I won't be able to live without. Thanks for the video!

Very chill and relaxing voice lol awesome video watched the whole thing! I have a Swiss champ coming in the mail today. I’m a Go Big Or Go Home type of guy with Victorinox. I like the minimalist models and the over the top models the most. My favorites being Victorinox Compact, Waiter for minimalism and the Mini Champ for over the top. I don’t tend to like the medium sized modles much give me minimalism or give me the whole kitchen sink if that makes sense? I do like the Pioneer X though that one is kind of medium I like.

Hello! Very nice video - this is probably the biggest of the 91mm Vic pocket knives...mine is red(I like red), but that cool green looks really nifty...I know you are not keen on pouches, but Vic has 2 for the Champ - one is black with a Velcro closure, the other is what Vic has called a Zermatt pouch, with a snap closure, reddish and textured, which comes with or without a steel...really nice looking...I have a small black lanyard on mine so that I don't accidentally drop it when I take it out of my pouch...by the way, I think Vic has said that the parcel hook can bear up to 200 pounds...Good job!

Would be nice as well although I'm not bothered either way but it could be a problem when washing it as most users I think just wash them in warm water with washing up liquid, as they don't rust. Personally I'd prefer a different sized Phillips on the opposite end to the existing inline Phillips.
