One tiger nut with a pop up above it on a hair rig works amazingly well for carp. I used 1 tiger nut to catch 10 carp in 1 day. Good luck to all

Gotta love those last-minute fish! I did get out this past Sunday for 3 hours or so in the afternoon. Only one carp, but it was a fighter--took off like a freight train (10 lb. 14 oz.)! Three sizeable white catfish rounded out the day's catch. Beautiful, sunny, breezy afternoon. Felt so good to get out again--first time since August 20!

I believe that pound for pound the carp seem to fight harder late in the season like this.

A great thing to add to bait is crushed tiger nuts, just make a few jars and stick em in your bag

I have Sharky 4000 baitfeeder reels. My clicker stopped working on the baitfeeder part of the reel. I called KastKing about it. They had me send it back to them. Then they replaced it. Love the reels.
I really like them too. The baitrunner drag has been sticking when they are cold. They are salt water reels, so I suppose they are not intended to be exposed to the cold temps that I use them in. That's my theory.

Another great day of fishing for you Tom. That's why when I pack up to leave the last thing I put away are my rods, never know when those fish are going to bite. Sure look like some of those had the mirror pattern to them. Maybe next time the lake will give up one of those. Thanks for the show

The problem you had with your kastking real I also had one time with an Okuma.. I had taken the Okuma apart completely about a week prior and completely re greased everything and the first time I used it afterwards I had the same problem you're having. It mysteriously started working correctly after it had sat in the Sun for about 20 minutes. I was using it during the winter with are temperatures about 35° if I do recall. What happened was I had put too much lube in there around that mechanism and it got cold and the grease had become really thick preventing the mechanism from working properly. Once that real had sat in the Sun for a while it warmed up and loosen up the Grease. If it happens again put it out in the sun or somewhere warm and see if it start working correctly again
I think you're right. The grease in these salt water reels is not intended for use in cold temps. I've found that if I just bump the body of the reel with the butt of my hand it will click and switch over. Only happens in cold weather.
@@OutsidewithTom as for my Okumas I just took them back apart and cleaned out the grease I had in there, and use the different grease that responds better to cold in haven't had a problem since. We will see what these cast king's I have and how they do here soon as we are getting colder here in Southwest Ohio

I haven't tried beans in pack bait yet, since you said it gives off a strong beans odor maybe you should try some refried beans next time
Went to a new lake yesterday where carp are not the targeted species, needles to say those things are huge. Had four hook ups but failed to land them (got to go to the drawing board and reassess). I forgot to loosen the drag for one of my poles and had to jump in the water to retrieve it after a carp pulled it in 😂. Your videos are a great inspiration to go outside 🎣
