  • Hi my fabulous queers! I am undergoing vocal cord feminizing surgery in about 10 days so follow along my own surgical gender journey as I talk about why and what and how I hope things to come out.

    Thanks for sharing the vocal ponderings and experience with your Voice Therapy and exercises.
    I also really learned a lot from my therapist. Maybe the most immediately valuable part was learning the kinds of sounds and vocal placement that distinguish an AMAB voice. So much work to do. Oy.
    I want to do the vocal sutgery, too; but I'm nervous about not being able to sing.

    Vocal chords after trache-shave: Perhaps it might be a "thing" or risk. I, myself, can't falsetto, anymore. Not that I want or need to falsetto, but the capability is completely gone. I am so happy and excited for you. I bet it will awesome!

      Thanks for sharing your experience too. It makes sense that it alters the "chamber" that is the larynx but perhaps more than it's known since folks don't usually get a laryngoscope after trach shave. I still feel it was worth it, for me NOT have an Adam's apple
