Hey barbarous Rex. I got in a car accident last February of 2023. I recently got back into hobby modeling and airbrushing. You have inspired me to go back to being creative again. I'm not gonna hold my breath hoping to win the booth, but that's okay !! I've lived my first 50 years being perfectly happy and never winning anything.. like so many of us I am sure.. I would really love to try that paint though.. I get most of my stuff through Richard & Walter down at Gundampros and I saw some of this paint was in stock today... I am currently building a PG Perfect Strike and I painted the red and blue parts with Tamiya metallics (tested by Robert) and it is looking pretty good but this blue would have looked incredible... And OMG, that fan cap... That thing is so cool... You can just see how good it manages the paint spray.. When I compare that to my Tamiya spray cans, I am so jealous... awesome color there

I build cars all the time and I use this stand but I use the bottom portion so I can swivel the model around while painting and be able to set it down without it falling over.
one of my favorite colors for cars. Midnight blue is only slightly behind a deep purple in my book
I would like to see a red like the Blackened Blue, but in a very deep Rich Burgandy.

Beautiful paint I would have stopped after a few layers to keep the purplish/black color shift instead of making it totally blue.

Looked great without the clear coat but once you applied that it really popped. Great color, I'm thinking I'll have to get some of them for the next models i get when im able too.
I'm diggin' the Blacken Blue by itself over that black primer. The fact that you can cover it with a clear blue and get another killer color is a bonus. I already have kits in mind to do each on. Really looking forward to the rest of this lineup.

Loved the painting process, when i say the notification come in that you were going to paint a car body with blackened blue II. I was excited.
Im toying with the idea of using your blackened blue on the panels of a tie-fighter custom paint job. Im also interested in your copper color on maybe an x-wing that im doing after the tie fighter. So im looking forward to that copper and your other colors.

Ps. Been using that Tamiya stand for almost 15 or more years, like you said works great, the best stand out there for holding paint subjects.
You use a lot of kit pieces in your testing. I would love to see every testing video the pieces you tested on get added to a model that will just be a collage of all your tests. And then when each model is eventually finished you could do a giveaway for it? Just an idea. I doesn't have to look amazing. But it would give just that one more reason to come back every episode to see what new thing gets added to the model.

I like that stand. Looks perfect for holding cars to spray. Now to justify getting it for gunpla to my better half.. 😅. Rex paint and that tamiya pairing really good im usually not a fan of candy.

I would do the same thing with the batmobile from the batman movie that just came out. It came out pretty sick

I'm sure 1 of us be super excited from Barbatos Rex Build. Also watching your painting style in working action really does sell your paints and also other products as well. Food for thought I guess.

I buy automotive clear in a quart size along with the hardener and I can probably clear 200 plus models for about $50, way cheaper than buying modeling 2k clears

Hi Robert, I happily and finally received my Rex Swallowtail. I absolutely love it. It is a really great piece of kit.
I managed to catch a deal on the lunar sale at Gaahleri where I was able to get the Swallowtail including the Fan Tip for just under $100.00 U.S..
I cannot imagine a better deal than this. I now have a gallery of Gaahleri airbrushed as, with this, I now have your Swallowtail, the Morbius 2.0, and the GHAD-38. I like all of them, and the three airbrushes handle a very large and diverse range of coverage.
Thank you so much for being an ambassador of Gaahleri, I feel they provide more value and less effort than a Neo.... I do not have much need for the Neo, or its cleaning, after working with these brushes.

Hi Rex! Great review! Listen, I'm not sure if this is an issue with all our fans in the modelling world, but myself I struggle with white and yellow colours. The issue is that even if I try several layers, the covered area doesn't look like it's properly covered. Remains always a bit dull. I'm not sure why, but I would appreciate it if you could dedicate a video to colours with week covering power. Maybe you have some secrets to share. Thanks for reading my comment! Have a great day!!
