These tend to look really flakey when mixed with clear, but I've noticed of you rub them on like the armored komodo stuff they give a real metallic look
Couple of things. Loved the excitement in your voice when showing, talking about your new paints. And i just ordered that Iwata moisture/dust trap. And your bench is getting invaded, over run by miniature's. I love looking at your bench, room as a whole.

I've got a box of 36 I bought them after watching one of your earlier videos, most of mine are metallic and pearlesant but they're great , it worked perfectly over my Warhammer necron warriors and I painted up a retro gundam that was pink also

Mica powders are sweet. I have a few that I have mixed in Tamiya Clear Red, & Clear Blue. Love the look. That big box of powders would be awesome.

One of the first things I did with an airbrush was do a mica powder mix with a clear and it worked great. Lots of fun to play with!

DipYourCar is doing same with real cars. Pigmentation in clear is crazy. So many results we can get this way.

Wow. Talk about synchronicity. I purchased those exact same mica powders recently. I got the 144 colour pack. I’m going to make my own paints using acrylic medium, some acrylic stabiliser and a bit of surfactant. I had to import it from Amazon in the US but it was worth it.
I have some mica powders that have been sitting around for a while. This video makes me want to try them.
Thanks for the tip! I'd played around with brushing on MicaPowders a couple years ago to do Heat Staining on the headers of a Shelby Cobra Model. Just recently (VERY recently) got into AirBrushing, so I'll have to try this out

You can mix them in paint BUT they work much better as a top coat. The colors will vary dramatically by the number of coats you apply. As an automotive modeler light coats give the best effect. Once the powder/clear dries you should top coat with clear to enhance the effect of the powder.
I used acrylic clear I did have a mess around with adding it to coloured paint too

I purchased that 63 color box last year. I tested 6 or 7 colors directly onto white spoons. Pretty colors but a bit light for car bodies. I will have to try them over Gloss black. If you are on a budget and want to paint a lot, these can give you lots of practice. I tried mixing the powders with Future but got much better mix with Clear gloss lacquer.
I have experimented with Mica and Alclad for about half a year and have practically gotten near metallic flake hot rod level finishes.
Several youtubers tested using gold leafs on models. Its bit annoying to work with but it works.

I love it when Zoids show up. They were never as big as Gundam, but I always loved the dinosaur/insect/animal robot vehicles they had in their line.
I wonder if using a bigger airbrush nozzle (0,8mm) you may get better coverage.

Hi, I hope you'll read this. There's a CZcams channel called DipYourCar that's right up your alley. They use they powders (and all kinds of other stuff) to paint cars. They also like to experiment by mixing them up. It's fantastic

Mica powders are great. To bad it is a dirty business, most come from Madagascar, then shipped and processed mostly in China. Cool with new color lineup 🤙

you need different types/spectrums of light to see some color effects. incandescent, cfl and halogen all produce light differently. in glass blowing we have uv and cfl reactive glass that will look one color in cfl light, and another in sunlight or glows a different color in uv.

Those powders are AMAZING!!! Question: What is the orange device screwed into the bottom of your airbrush?
It's an Iwata moisture and dust trap. I just ordered one off if amazon. Two days before Rex's video I was watching a u-tube video about air brush recommended items and that guy was highly recommending them. I've been using the standard Pistol moisture trap. That's what this is as well but it also traps dust. Not cheap $31.xx vers $7.xx for the standard trap.
How do these go with your typical top coats (like mr hobby top coat)? Any issues?

When using a Gloss Black Base I always recommend Tamiya TS-14

How safe is it to airbrush mica powder? Should you own a certain airbrush booth in terms of air flow/fan power to keep mica powder from covering your space?
No problem with it what so ever. No special airbrush needed
I noticed there's a metallic clear dupli-color, any idea what the difference would be?
That's a clear pearl that's sprayed over opaque colors to give them a deep pearl look
