Nah, I'd lose.
Nah, id get cooked
Stand Proud myan, You were Strong.
Are you the strongest because you're Myan or are you myan because you're the strongest?
Wake up ssba is a principle.
Literally me
The little side by side demonstrations of what they could have done better are amazing, you're killing it with this channel my dude!
I was about to comment this, we eating with this high quality guide today
Yeah these very fast matchup breakdowns are so valuable for that. Love the little overlay showing how + or - a move is as well and why you should/shouldn't try to take a turn in that situation. These are things that just takes so long to figure out about everything in the game by just playing.
Dude, your videos are setting a new standard for FGC content. Taking the time to basically do a replay takeover and show us alternative solutions is so insanely helpful.
Keep up the great work!
I think this would genuinely be amazing as a series, just watching viewers vods and giving criticisms for everyone to learn from, I hope this isn't a one off
Immediately showing examples of what you're saying makes this an amazing tool for learning, props to you and the editor
Glad my gameplay can be of service
As a fellow Grimnir main, I appreciate you and Diaphone's contributions.
This is why I think playing Rank is important to improve your skill - when matching against good players, if you make a mistake or try to pull a gimmick all the time, you get consistently punished for it, so you learn not to do it. You also get to see how they execute their combos or pressure optimally, which will let you know when or when not to make a move.
Love this. You’re a godsend. I like how you are able to break it down and then also shining light on how you think about frame data.
The video demo that plays while diaphone explains how to correct your gameplay is god tier. I actually get to see what hes talking about
The explanations are so helpful. Also the editing is amazing! Love showing what could've been done and all the plus and minus frames. Made the video super digestible
This is a very well made video! Cutting to the examples that you are explaining in the middle of the video is so helpful since I’m a visual learner!
You really should make this kind of videos as a series, this was an amazing watch, I feel like I learned so much!
Amazing editing, really informative video
Thanks for this!! It's just what I needed
Dude the amount of effort that went into this with all the possible outcomes is absolutely amazing, glad I subscribed last week
I love this kind of videos so much, thank you so much!! They do help A LOT
MY GUY, as always thank you. Cause of you I am steadily climbing up the ranks in GBVSR. CHEERS!!
This is such an amazing video! Thank you for making it!
The editing with the demonstrations as you explain it are incredible!
The editing work here to show what could be done in the various situations is fantastic.
The quality on this video is unmatched. I loved the breakdowns of mistakes/options with examples in training mode. This game is a ton of fun and I'm hoping to improve from S rank with Charlotta :)
Been finding it difficult to open someone up and when to shimmy. This video actually did give me a different idea on what I could do as well. Thank you. 🙏
The presentation of this video is so great omg hope we get more of this in the future.
Wow this video was one of the best I've seen, soo good please make more on this ideia of reviewing a game and showing what would you do in their place
🤩
I love your videos. Always showing fighting games with a positive vibe.
This is my first Gran Blue game and I quickly got to A rank, but now I feel like I’m in A Hell
The quality of the vids putting the combos they tried to make its amazing, great content new sub
Good lord, the quality of your videos are top notch nowadays. Keep up the good work!
the examples you put in when you point something out to someone are SO GOOD
Damn you put in work on this video. Amazing content
Hi, Nooby Eustace main here ^
I got to A rank and since get wrecked in 90% of matches- most my opponents have 1200-2000 matches under their belt while I've only just hit 300. The struggle is real but I'm going to keep trying!!
This video really helps me as a relatively new player to the game and genre to see things i could be improving on. One thing im currently struggling with is how I can consistently apply pressure and mix things up to open their block. As a narmaya player I see most of the top players doing 66L with a mix of 5Ls and 2Ls, and rarely any heavies, but i like to finish my 5L into a 5H and cancel it into 236L/H, trying to break the habit but its hard.
Love this video!! Good luck at Tampa Never Sleeps btw!!! ❤
I just wanna say shout outs to diaphone for continuously putting out such informative and entertaining content to help everyone level up their game. I’ve learned stuff in like every video it’s amazing
Make this a series pleaassee. This is really helpful
already liiked this game, but ur content for it makes it that much better
these vids are great pls keep posting !!
I need more of this! It’s sooo good
Watched this on stream, and will watch again!!
Dope content!
Great video
No doubt this was a lot of work, but this is amazing content. I've always wondered what the differences between ranks kind of looked like. Even playing through them, lower ranks speed by and I have never tried to analyze them. And I definitely wonder what it looks like for me to move up to the next rank. I'll have to go through replays more.
This video made me feel slightly better at only ever reaching A rank so far (though to be fair I did it with Lunalu first and am now trying to get all the characters I play up to A individually). What frustrates me right now is I know my weaknesses but don't quite know how to improve them or shake them off.
Some big ones are: I 2H too slow and get hit instead, I almost never tech grabs without it being pure accident, and conversely I never know when to grab during my pressure.
I've been stuck on A forever now and feels like i never improve, but thanks for the video, it really helps
Thank you so much for the video! You make it sound easy lol.
My personal issue with both guard cancel and bad reads is that:
1. I always screw up guard cancels and end up raging striking when the opponent backs off or when I mistime it.
2. I usually try to read people and it almost always makes me lose because all it takes is a few bad reads and my hp is zero.
So yeah, 2 good habits and strategies that I dont do nearly as much as the top players because I always seem to do it wrong, and I'm scared of doing it wrong time and time again. I just stop doing it and mash.
Advice?
Love the format, Diaphone. Good job!
btw: Are you gonna play Relink?
Hello Diaphone I love this video. I am still very much new to the game and this was very helpful, esp the thing about not using Guard Cancel. One thing I wanted to ask about is rolls and spot dodges. When should I be using them? I'd never played a game with spot dodge before so I honestly don't know when to use it at all (aside from against projectiles).
the writing & structure of this video is so good dude LOL, and your editor cooks with the visuals / info on-screen to match
great work again 🫡
dude the cut ins for frame adv / dmg to illustrate the point, the side by side comparisons, wtf my compliments to the editor 🫡🫡🫡
Please make this a series!
I started learning how important guard cancel was while fighting/playing lucilius. Came to realization that not using it, really is cringe and I'm letting the opponent open me up way early on my defense than I ever should.
I think many people are afraid to get caught without diamonds especially late round because the damage lol.
W video
I mean you should fear guard canceling because I blow people up when they do that in master rank it means you can deal with the pressure on your own I rarely ever gc
Thanks for the content - I think this is very helpful and would definitely like to try and use it to get better slowly. How would you go about recognizing mistakes? As someone who just recently hit A rank, I can probably recognize a few mistakes I make, but I would probably miss some that a higher ranked player would notice like you demonstrated. What's a good way to start learning/understanding that aspect? As you have shown in the video, you don't always get punished for your mistakes even though it should be a mistake and punished.
i was stuck at the A5 blackhole but I've managed to get to S5 and now I'm the guy cycling between S5 and A1. basically what changed to get out of A5 was realizing when it was my turn, and at A3/A2 i started using brave counters. one thing i know i need to work is to stop dropping my corner combos
Same! you got this!!!
The black hole had me almost dropped the game cause I thought I was bad I just had to slow down 😂
Game sucks.
@@watchmesquatchDang dude I can tell you are just salty of losing from your other comments. Don’t get me wrong I been stuck in S5 and A rank almost 2 months now and I get salty too but no reason to say that stuff you are saying in every comment, very childish attitude.
Yo this is your peak content so far diaphone
Continue the grind!
Really appreciate the example clips when you say "you can do x to counter this"
Good breakdown on examples of mistakes & how to fix them. There's a lot of characters, so I'm not sure on matchups.
I don't want to get Master rank in any game. 😉I've never done so, despite palying since SF1. Often can't get a game at launch, & I can only play weekends I get to the PS4.
So it's tough to rank up very far. Got 10th fl in Strive. Curious where I may end up in this game. Mained Soriz & got B in the previous one.
Fun vid. Thanks. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this. I’m stuck in s5 rank and I struggle a lot against extreme pressure and grab mix. What would you recomend to deal with this?
Please consider doing that safejab video! I have a hard time finding information on it.
"Right combo. That's the combo in the Gran guide" is somehow fucking hilarious. GranLv80 life. Another nice drop Diaphone
Diaphone you rock!
Your GBVSR videos are extremely well put together. I'm S+ right now and this really helped my gameplay a lot.
Was not expecting to get roasted this hard, but I'll take the free lesson lol!
Been hard stuck A1/S5 on Zooey for a while now ehe...
I'm S++ with Djeeta so I'm getting there.
i would love to see these A players that aren't doing BnBs, seems like half the A matches are against S deranks getting their free wins before they go back to S5
Right 😂😂
It's a pathetic ranking system
One reason players may conserve the Bravery Points is that once you are down to 1, you take more damage and when you are fully out of them, you take way more damage. A 5k damage combo becomes an 8k combo with 0 diamonds -> and when you have that stuck in your head, you may not want to "waste them".
So "proper" use of Bravery is making sure you are avoiding massive damage or you kill the enemy, as running fully out leaves you in a very icky spot.
But like you said - you shouldn't die with all 3 diamonds. It means somewhere there, you could've guard-cancelled OR did a bigger combo.
The main thing I took away from this video is that if I Guard Cancel more often, I should be able to go from A to S++ easily.
I only got to S in Versus; but oddly i was busy with everyone on the roster and story mode i never entered ranked yet D:
but it's a stiff hill in cheeseville so it's kinda intimidating.
I wonder what type of advice you could give against Vaseraga. My issue I have is when I get command grabbed when I'm blocking or trying to evade it but jumping is the only way.
Can you do a video for lowain? I feel like I scammed my way into A1/S5(floating here now) Applying some of the things mentioned here will help. I never use guard cancel but now realize I should.
Probably already did it but...do you have a tutorial for dealing with mashing?
Trying to stick to "defend until it's your turn, remember almost everything leaves them positive" but I just can't find an opening to start my offense. A footsie and I get punished, a L and I get crushed or countered or grabbed.
Same on the opposite, there're some players that just lay on the ground and can't seem to break their deffense. I do miss not having real mix-ups here like in other ASW games
Dope video, also btw does anyone know the song at 6:19? much appreciated!
I only find it annoying where people say "I got Master with in 'this many' hours on this character"
And I am like CONGRATZ. Must be nice to have the time to invest it on ranks.
Relatable, like I been practicing Vira for like 2 months now in this game and with some experience on the old granblue fighting game too and am still stuck in A rank to S5 Rank. Low key not sure how so many people are getting into masters so easily really.
Also getting used to a guard button is hard, cause I forget to take my finger off the guard button and I'll hit back to block and well, that's supposed to be timed and stuff.
Also why do I have to wait so long to press dash in a combo!
Fighting game combos are just so arbitrary!
Pls do a vid on the lower ranks. I recently entered rank C with my main and very quickly got put down to C5. Would like to learn.
I feel like Diaphone never mentions it but you do know you take way more damage the less diamonds you have right? Like a guard cancel too many is the difference between if the enemy will kill you in one combo or not.
Appreciate the tips and lesson. Is there a better way to spot dodge? I see people spot dodge and punish right away. When I do it, I can't hit anything afterward.
Spot dodge only works against certain moves. If you try to spot dodge things you shouldn't, you will either be punished or will have to gamble if your spot dodge was barely good enough.
What did he mean when he said Lowain's supers are "reactable"? Are they not both invincible reversal installs that give infinite armor? How are you supposed to punish them?
hello diaphone, great video. while playing avatar belial i end nearly every match with 0 hp. is this a mistake? i just can't stop doing sick nasty combos until my hp bar is 1 pixel. my win rate is 35%
cheers!
The quality in the editing in this goes crazy in the first couple minutes lol
I'm only S with Belial and i pretty sure that's the highest rank i can ever get, but anyway thanks for the great video, you are the best
I don't know if this has been answered already, but is there a reliable way to setup a meaty jab to beat a wakeup super ?
Is there a way for us to get our replays critiqued
Can you get to masters with Ladiva? I cant move forward from s++ :(
hi diaphone, im confused on one thing thats happening to me, grans medium uppercut move is not blockable in air right? but i had it multiple times that opponents block it in air, am i stupid or why is it that they are blocking my move
Kinda late to the party, in case if you are still wondering. Medium DP is only air unblockable during the very very beginning of the animation, it’s very risky to time and you’ll likely get hit first. For true unblockable DP, use heavy or ult DP, the full animation is unblockable
4:57 the most important part in the video for me
You have to strike a balance between watching people who are goated at the game and watching yourself, who is (ostensibly) not goated at the game
Damn, if only I was around so I can get a look at my replays from S+, I feel hard stuck rn, lol.
Wish I can give him my replay so he can analyze and give tips like this T_T
My only wish when Diaphone become a 1mil youtuber, is that he just keeps the screenshott of the chibi Zoey as his pfp
(I play Metere) Im stuck at a 5 bc I suck at using dodging/rolling right, antiairing and need to get more consistent with safe jumps.
5:54 wouldn't they die on chip with that DP though? I know I've chip killed people with it because there is a gap between the first and second half
Does anyone know of a good video that helps learn match ups? Unfortunately I don’t have much time to play, I’ve gotten to S rank but now it feels like I actually gotta really sit down & start learning matchups
Which is no fun.
I'm not master rank because my reaction speed is extremely slow, I gotta work on spot dodging and teching the most rn I think
I got to master rank on sf6 but got to s+ with Vira and Lucifer. I’m just too lazy to keep grinding plus tekken 8 coming out soon.
W video
2:16 auto combo into nothing, hey, that's my specialty!
Where is the safe light tutorial ? :D
Working on getting out of A rank. I've got a ways to go, but we'll grind til we get there one bite at a time
I dropped the game in A rank. The current state of the game is unenjoyable with the 66L spammers.
@@watchmesquatch There is plenty of ways to counter 66L.
@watxhmesquatch 66L is oppressive, but you can work on getting better at options to out it which is what I am trying to do.
For me? Its Achieving S with every character (on free edition so half way there), then trying to get S+ with my main
Ahora con Narmaya !!!
Can you try to master charlotta next?
I mean, for me it's because I'm used to five button GG type fighters on a hitbox and am now using a gamepad in a SF-type game and I just figured out that sometimes pressing left or right on the dpad will make me fucking jump.
Also I'm bad at fighting games and never maintain my skills.
I'm gonna blame being old, but literally I see a combo displayed and just don't hit the right buttons. I'm normally good at videogames.
I do hate how specific the timings have to be, pressing the correct hard buttons is hard enough!
