@@kaliprasannapal876 it's not that we are still consider westerners great. Though you have to be thankful for their contribution but the problem is these geniuses can't be recognised because social media ,TV, newspaper never even bothers about scientific community. Hardly seen some achievement mentioned. In country where big boss, badshah, shitty movies, illogical new songs gain popularity how will people get time to even think about them. Majority will be busy in debating whether this celebrity was having affair or whether this celebrity was product of nepotism. People chase for jobs and get an MBA degree, earning in lakhs. Some go for upsc and get an IAS tag. Rarely people have mindset to study PhD or higher studies and get into research. Many youths are part of some bajrang Dal. Some youth become maulana and devote whole life to Islam, some become priest and some go to gurukul thinking ancient knowledge was far better than current one. Problem is if one cracks IIT or aiims they are not interested in research rather in making money. And this shitty government don't care about scientific development rather focuses only on winning the politics.
And even if you do research you will not get a decent amount of salary. It's the biggest demotivation for youths. And doing mba from IIM gives you good amount of money. What may one choose? Curiosity or money?

      NO..
THE problem is people often fail to recognize a good talent..whether be it someone from the west or asia or africa.. but when we do recognize we recognize a great talent regardless where they came from
and there is no problem in it! ..
And a great talent always deserves to be recognized regardless of their race background and ethnicity..
And look at us today! We are everywhere on earth! Why?? Bcuz we are recognized! By every place and kind of people on earth..
And also don't forget that this genuis did not receive any recognition from india at all! But the

@@kanishkagoswami6261 You are absolutely correct in your way of approach. What you want to put forward is also very true. A classic example of your viewpoint can be Nikola Tesla....western scientist, one of the greatest insight, yet he did not receive the recognition he deserved. Even, there was none present at his bed-side during his death...this was the fate of this genius! How tragic!
Even, Stephen Hawking not getting the Nobel Prize....it didn't demean Hawking rather the Nobel Committee themselves should have hanged their heads on shame for not giving him the prize.
It is utterly disgraceful for the society at large, not to value the true gems.
But my point of telling was only that we recognise the talents of the son of the soil, when it is certified and approved by the foreign.

28:16 to 28:26 is probably the most definitive, saddening remark that a researcher can make upon their self. It sends a bittersweet tear down my eye to see him saying it in such a composed matter-of-fact manner. Inspired in the utmost, I take a solemn moment to serve my respects to Prof. Raychaudhari here.

This country need more people like them who can actually go out there and represent India on international platforms, interviews and university lectures and talk about actual science with actual scientists in the world. It feels like it has been forever since actual groundbreaking discovery has been made in physics from this land. And it breaks my heart to see that brilliant minds are present but because of one reason or other they are either unknown or limited to India only where most people don't even care.

I hereby sincerely wanted to thanks the entire team of IUCAA Delhi and the people who have taken the initiative to unravel this monumental personality to young people who are willing to pursue their careers in the staggering field of research.
Amal Kumar Raychowdhary will always be remembered by me, not for these astounding works in General Relativity but despite having grey clouds and having faced the sun the willingness and persistence can make oneself accomplish wonders.
Dr. Raychowdhary was not the only one whose talent was hidden under the curtain and blaming others won't present with any conclusion. This isn't something contrary for people to remain noticed Galois who presented the concept of symmetry and group arrangement remained unnoticed and later on categorized as "Father of Abstract Algebra". Einstein himself was patent clerk served there for 4 years until his miraculous year of 1905. So the solution to such kinds of inconsistencies is to give them honor like naming institutions on their name and naming distinguished lecture series. Truly the best method for generations to know about these Titans.

The dhoti clad professor speaking English in Bengali accent was one of the last reminiscent of the Bengal Renaissance. His teaching was as simple as his life style. During a long loadshedding of the late 70's, he stopped lecturing and went back to Rabindranath, "ihar cheye hotem jadi Arab Beduin" (if instead I were an Arab Beduin). Save mathematics, he was Bengali at the core.

They do their work because they are capable and curious. They know they are the flag bearer of human curiosity and intelligence. originality of their work is more important than any recognition... and I don’t see prof Roy Choudhury was bothered!
