Joe was performing on the evening I met my wife in about 1972 at the Garrick club in Leigh Lancashire, and we are still together. He played there often with a very appreciative audience. I have often and regularly watched videos of him on youtube in years past. It's nice to see a new video with him in Mulingar with his locals. We have bought several of his LP's in the past - now converted to MP3's for in the car.
Joe was brilliant! He had the ability to hit the extremely high notes which made him so unique. Many singers tried to impersonate him but they found themselves in serious trouble when it came to the high notes. Frank Hollingsworth.

Though small in stature he was a Giant on the Irish music scene and I well remember him belting out the big numbers and creating the best Craic as people of all ages flocked to the dance venues to watch Joe in action and maybe (with a bit of luck) find a good looking girl to take home
