    I did everything you said, including eye cream, applying the eye primer to the undereye area, the concealer is Rimmel (light cream), a very very amount of face powder, and voila, it lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thank you, Wayne!!!!

    It’s 2019.
    I am a guy who gets pushed in front of TV cameras on the reg. I have some powder in my desk that I usually apply to make my forehead less shiny on camera. I also get told that I look very tired all the time, even though I am not (most of the time, anyway). I have deep dark rings under my eyes. At one time I was sent to a makeup artist during a more upscale production. Before I knew it I was out of there again and was told that I looked „very well rested today“.
    So I got myself a tube of liquid concealer today and started experimenting. This video has been a huge help.

    OMFG THIS WORKED!!! Unbelievable. I am in shock. I've tried so many other tricks for the thin crepey skin on the top of my cheeks. You cant really see the wrinkles until i put makeup on, then they were all I could see! I looked 30 years older!! Nothing has worked for me as well as this. The only step I didn't follow was the touch of powder. Its 6 hours later and it still looks flawless. I cant stop looking at my face. I wish i would have taken a before and after. I used 2 layers of Shiseido Benefiance contour eye cream, 1 layer of Neutrogena hydro boost water gel, a tiny tap of jojoba oil then urban decay eye primer. i use Lancome Effacernes waterproof concealer. Wayne! Thank you!

    • @nihonai13
      @nihonai13 Před 7 lety +8

      I have purple/green dark circles too. I read somewhere that peach toned concealer works for fair skin and orange toned concealer works for medium skin tones. The depth may be helped with hydration from within (water intake) and more moisturizer. Usually it is a sign of body dehydration. I hope this helps. I use elf corrective concealer (I blend its yellow and pink concealers to get "peachy") and the under eye setting powder from the studio line. I hope this helps.

      @velinataplinsutton5173 Před 6 lety +20

      DarkAngelCookie Sounds like you need colour correcting before you apply your concealer. You mentioned you have purple-ish dark under eye dark circles. You can try a peachy colour corrector. If your dark circles are really really dark you may have to mix orange with the peachy colour corrector. Just remember the colour chart: red/blue make purple. Across from purple is orange made from red/yellow. So you will need something orange/peach to cancel the purple. Swipe the colour corrector on your dark purple under eye then gently pat in the corrector. Depending on how dark your purple under eye is will give you the amount of corrector you will need to hide your dark circles. I know I’m not Wayne Goss, but I couldn’t resist the urge to respond. I am qualified to explain bcuz not only am I a retired hairstylist but also a retired Aesthetician and cosmetology school instructor and a WA state board certified examiner. Take care. velinatheflutterby🦋🦋💄

    I'm 61 years old so I know a little bit about lines and creases under the eyes. I've recently come across a great concealer by hard candy (believe it or not) called Glamoflage it absolutely does not get in the lines and creases. I even fell asleep with it on one time ( I know, that's bad.) and the next morning it still wasn't in my lines and creases. At only $6 it's definitely worth a try. You only need a tiny tiny little bit of it too. I haven't yet been able to squeeze out a small enough amount that I didn't have to wipe some of it off my hand ( where I had been picking it up with my brush) when I was done. I think this tube will last me forever.

Every time you can. I didn't have lines on face until I was nearly 40. That moisturizer is all I did. Now that I have lines I scrub with coffee grounds and those lines fill in pretty good. I discovered a really good tip (Courtesy of Beauty and the Boutique) to fix under eye make up from caking. Take a drop of pure Jojoba oil and lightly pat it into the problem areas, taking care to only use a tiny bit (as a little goes a long way!). Apparently it works to fill in the creases so well because Jojoba oil is very closely related to our own skins' natural oils. So it absorb into the skin really easily, hydrating and plumping it but without any caking, clumping or excess greasiness. The result is truly is amazing!!

    Wayne the moisturizing tip is golden. I’ve been doing this for a few years now. You’ve suggested that in a concealer video many years ago and it is something I do now even if I’m not wearing makeup. It’s second nature to me. I do take care of my skin so it’s part of my routine morning and night. I use a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid on top of a hyaluronic serum from Paula’s choice. At night I use PC moisture renewal mask and I take it right under my eyes. I also will use a well formulated facial oil and I lightly dab it under my eyes. I do this on my kids as well but I’m careful about oil on my eyelids b/c I don’t want it causing blurry vision. After showering or washing my face I start my skin care routine right away. When I put first layering of eye cream under my eyes I’ll brush my teeth and reapply then comb my hair, etc. I do this until I have a few layers on and then I finish rest of my skincare routine. I don’t have much time in the morning but doing it this way has allowed me time to at least put a few layers on. It’s made a difference for me. I feel like I have and use a Goss arsenal of tips. I also have my what would Wayne do moments. I can always find a useful video in my time of need. Thanks Wayne! Your tips are useful and I adore your witty humor.

Put Garnier Up-Lift transformer on, and it adds moisture that last all day and acts as a great primer for other makeup. Have been able to use liquid foundations under my eyes and it doesn't crease with this combination because the moisture below stays put.

    Hi Goss, I love all your videos, so educational and so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to record these. Just a question for you. In one of your videos from 2011 (albeit a very old video), your first rule to prevent under eye creases was not to load up moisturizer. In this video you mention to load up as much moisturizer as we can. Of course in the matter of 4 years your method has changed, but just wondering what experiences/results you had that made you change your method.

    I've done this with Milani eye primer for years & it has made a world of difference. I've also stopped using liquid foundation 30 years ago & used powders long b4 they had minerals. Hated the way my skin felt with liquid on it. Coty airspun powder used to have a compact way back that was awesome. They discontinued that but the loose powder has made a comeback. I'm 55, take good care of my skin, moisturize, dermabrasion roll, vitamin C serum, retinol. Some people have been surprised when they hear my age. I guess I'm doing something right. 😃 PS: Love your channel & your honesty in all your videos.

      +Alison Stewart Im using the too faced concealer too! So much better! I was watching Wayne goss videos and I believe he said if you have dry under eyes or lots of fine lines, creamy concealer will emphasize that and make you look ages older. Thats why hydrating concealers like too faced work well. I've also heard a trick that if you add oil, like jojoba or pure olive oil to your concealer it will help it crease less. But definitely staying away from NARS and tarte. Their concealers are too thick and creamy.

      Me too!!! You can see it creasing and making my under eye lines worse in profile pic. Pro Long Wear does the same to me, but the combo of the MAC studio finish concealer (cream) and the MAC Select moisture cover (liquid) has been working well. I use MAC Fast response eye cream and the Milani eye shadow primer. I use to use this method for years but I abandoned it to try other things but now I'm back to back to my basics lol. I have really dry skin. The too faced applied great and looked good but 30 minutes later it disapearred and looked like I never even applied it. I guess my skin drank it lol. Maybelline Fit me works better, but not enough coverage. But I do love the Fit Me powder to set my under eye.

    My biggest problem is that no matter how much moisturizer I use or which one I use, my can't get rid of the dry flakes under my eyes. I know it goes hand in hand with my skin condition (I have dry skin, hair, eyes, nails, etc) but it's just so annoying. Especially since I have constant lilac smudges under my eyes as well as fine lines bc my eyes are hooded.
    Now my mother is 55. She has lines around her eyes and very bad dark circles - nearly a brown/black thanks to her Italian background. So by the time she uses corrector and concealer and such, it looks cakey and yet still doesn't really cover the darkness.

I do not have a lot of darkness or discoloration under the eyes, just a slight amount I wish to conceal. I have yellow undertones and my newest concealer is a radiant Yellow Correcteur. I also have the YSL Touché Eclat and the Clinique concealers, both of which are lightweight and work for me. I agree with you that one should not over use concealer if you do not need to. Use it only in the area you wish to cover to avoid too much thickness etc.

    Thanks Wayne,I've been noticing my lines under my eyes are more visible when wearing makeup. So, obviously I'm doing something wrong along my routeen. I've oily skin,and for sure,my pores,and like my wrinkles are more visible when wearing makeup.
    I'm v careful. Not to wear to much . . . As u can see my face isn't that big,so I've to use small amounts,equal parts.

      Melissa I have a recommendation too! I have super dry skin and when you see a lot of youtubers on here, they just cake it all on everywhere. I have a feeling, up close, it is not so pretty (well, on some people it might be, but not too many). I use It Cosmetics concealer - it does not dry out - it is hard to explain but amazing. I only use it on a small area of darkness - not all under the eyes. Also use it on the side of my eyes, tear duct area that is bluish tinted and it works great. But, I do not put anything else other than on that targeted area. Wayne has a video on how to conceal - it helped me out.

      I had that problem with my mature under eyes and the rich eye creams I use. I don't put one heavy layer, but 2 thinner layers, the second after the other sits a minute or two. If any moisturizer is still sitting on the top of my skin when I am ready to apply primer ( I use a non matifying face primer because my skin is dry and I am in a dry climate), I will use a single ply from a tissue to blot only what is sitting on top. By using thinner layers of cream, I rarely have to blot. I like MAC Mineralized Concealer which is more expensive than drug store, but lots less than some of the ones Wayne recommends. I also like Clinique's Airbrush Concealer if I don't have too much darkness to cover. It is not too expensive and lasts forever. It is one of the ones Lisa Eldridge uses which is why I tried it. Hope this long comment helps. Under eye concealing is aggravating!!!

      I am 45 and I don't have any wrinkles under my eyes because I use jojoba oil. Use it as a primer before you put concealer. Or you can even put on top of it if it starts looking bad and cakey. Jojoba oil is actually liquid wax and it won't look shiny or greasy, just wait a little till your skin absorbs it and then you can even set it with powder if you want and it will look great.

      kellyrobinson328 The Maybelline Fit Me concealer is a great drug store concealer however it certainly is not a dupe for Nars. The Fit Me has a thin consistency with light/medium coverage & Nars has a thick, creamy consistency and gives a nice full coverage. I remember you said it's better to apply loads of powder in your previous video!! (the one comparing two parts of your face with different amount of concealer and powder) And now, it becomes "tiny amount"???? How?

    Yesssss! Lmfaoooo! You are amazing, ingenious darling! I’m 38 (uhh) & I cannot use concealer because of the age lines. I’ve given up and just use my foundation powder (MAC Studio Fix NC 20) but it doesn’t cover the stress lines like it did.
    I purchased multiple creams and I can’t seem to get my skin hydrated. I started caring for my skin at the age of 11. By 13-14 yrs old my grandmother, a former “makeup counter girl” as they used to call department store cosmetic employees, made sure I started using SPF cream to moisturize before applying my first light foundation. I recall the very day because she shaped my eyebrows and waxed my upper lip for the 1st time, said it was time to begin my skincare and gave me a box which happened to be Ponds Daytime Facial Cream with SPF-20. My point is I’m accustomed to skincare. I’ve used many brands of under eye creams & primers and lately I cannot rid my skin of dryness especially under the eyes. I own the very NARS you recommend (though I haven’t tried this technique you mention in this video). I’m so uncomfortable lately and frustrated!
    I do question whether it’s my skin cleanser? It seems something isn’t in harmony. What cleansers do you recommend for combination dry and t-zone oily skin?

    But I am 700 years old, isn't massive lines and wrinkles more age appropriate for me? lol :P

    Am I the only one who listens to Wayne simply because of his beautiful voice and manner of speaking. I just like listening to him. He might as well be talking about the social life of wasps.

    I Love how you make everything so fast and simple !! i watch other videos and they use 10 different products for only one area and that really is a pain in the ass because I'm always running and don't have the time !! Thank you so much for your help and for being so REAL!
