- Sorry for the reupload, I forgot that (i believe) you need to have done the Tigrex in Village 6, and I also forgot the Desert Brawler quest before you unlock the quest, which is pretty darn important.
The best way to farm for Zenny and Charms in Monster Hunter Generations! - Hry
Great video man! Also HAHA @ 2:31 me failing a Hunters for Hire quest XD
I just noticed that xD
Haha wow
God damn it Arekkz :D
Maaaan, you had ONE job XD
Arekkz got rekt XD
"Village elders hate him!"
"Has the guild gone too far?"
"A single hunter made 100,000 zenny in few minutes, HERES HOW"
"Minegardians new money making algorhythm"
Puddimans lol
7:09 *_CALMLY MENTIONS RAJANG IN QUEST_*
Freedom Caliber rajang isn't that bad.
OH HOW WRONG YOU ARE
Rajang ain't bad, I killed him once or twice during the quest when I didn't know Sakura Method existed
"Rajang is a bi-"
-herny
2:30 Dammit, Arakkz, get it together. Don't give up until you've finished that quest.
So I did this today for the first time
Got a few talismans in the reward screen
"Attack +12"
"ok"
lucky.....
In 4u I had insane talismans. Attack +14 OO. Guard +6 OOO. Artillery +12 OO. Sharpness +8 OO. They came by naturally after about 500 hours of playtime lol
i have yet to see attack that go above 10, well me and my whole group of players none get any attack up over 10.
Luxifer83 It is possible, because I've got it lmao. No slots though unfortunately.
+Jorge De Leon Talis cap at +13...
Arekkz OTL in the middle of the hub was the best thing about this video hahahaha
Legend has it Arekkz is still lying on the very same floor
I don’t get it
@@thefuzztersame help
Conveniently you uploaded this while i was trying to find a guide for this.
Thank you so much for uploading this! As always you perfectly embody what this game is about, cooperation and sharing of knowledge. You are a tremendous help for both noobs and pros at this series.
I was starting to have zenny problems myself and this video came up. Thanks, GH!
Thanks a lot for posting this! I'm a Prowler main myself (absolutely having a blast playing as it), but crafting for hunters definitely seems like the bulk of the game, haha. This will help me a lot whenever I switch over to a hunter every once in a while.
You just solved the only problem I'm having in this game! LOVE YOU!
Thank you for the guide, Unlocked desert brawlers a few hours ago and was going to ignore it as i continued to do offline quests for money, now imma invest in it to unlock this method! thanks a lot!
informative as always, thanks a bunch :)
When I got Gen it read my 4U save data and gave me a bunch of stuff including 105 Golden Eggs which is a bit over 2 million zenny when you sell them. Haven’t sold them yet, but it’s nice having a “bank account” of 2 mil, certainly good backup money when I want some new weapons or items and i don’t have enough
Thanks you for reminding me this. I totally forgot that I have those eggs!!!
How to get rich in MH Gen:
Step 1 - Main Prowler.
Step 2 - Literally only have to spend your money on 2 pieces of armor and a weapon every once in a while.
Step 3 - Enjoy having your money pile up as you'll only spend like 1% of your earnings.
Literally roll in Zenny and always be richer than all of your non-prowler hunting friends!
insectlover602 or just use crystalbeard armor to guarantee 100% better charme
this method was foolproof in MHGen but unfortunately prowlers are much worse in MHGU, and i cant recommed using them EVEN IF its a god tier boomerang build
@@copyrightstrike4666 yeah unfortunately, in g rank you pretty much gotta play hunter
edit i take back what i said, prowlers are great in g rank dont listen to anybody
The Crystalbeard armor set is amazing for this quest once it reaches level 6. It gives Great Luck (Fate +10) and Crystalbeard Soul is a mix of Negate Hunger and Charm Chaser. I was lucky enough to get a Gathering +9 charm with two slots, and with it and a 3-slot weapon, I was able to upgrade that to Miraculous Luck, while still slapping in Gathering +1. Combine this with the Sakura method and you'll be rolling in Timeworn Charms in no time.
As for the route, I generally go ahead and eat for Explorer every time. When the quest starts, I grab the three blue mining points in the secret area, down a Cool Drink and drop to Area 6, grab any mining points there, then pass through 7, then through 9 and 10, grabbing their points as well. If I haven't gotten the first 10 Coals by the time I reach the southernmost point in Area 10, it's fine, because the Rajang in Area 2 will have moved elsewhere. I then use a Smoke Bomb as soon as I enter Area 2 so the Bullfango won't bug me and try the two red points there. If I STILL haven't gotten 10 Coals by the time I've gotten through Area 2, I go to Area 1.
its a shame monster hunter isn't too popular because your videos are really good
Look at it now 💪
Unless I missed it, you didn't mention that you can eat for a nearly guaranteed Felyne Explorer with Bherna Carbonade like you did in your original video from December. The secret spot has 3 mining spots and you generally get some Timeworn Charms/Ancient Shards up there. Jump down to land right in Area 6 and you should typically have 10 Coal just from Area 6+8 before teleporting back to base camp. It's maybe not as crucial when you only need 12 Coal but I like starting close to Area 8 and having those three extra spots for Timeworn Charms/Ancient Shards.
Thank you so much for this. ^^ Incredibly helpful, it's great that you took the time to explain the most efficient way to complete the gathering process as well.
Oh wow this guide is so useful! Thanks man!
I was wondering when someone would find a Charm farming method for this game, and god DAMN is this one good. It's definitely better than 4U and the Rathalos Subquest thing (or at least that's the method I used in 4U), and it minimizes RNG, too. Like, at the ABSOLUTE WORST you're gonna get 3 Timeworn charms or so in the rewards, which is pretty good for a coal run, and that's not counting the ones you get from the nodes, too. And this is a customizable method too, which is super nice. Thanks for this, man, and props to the original hunter that discovered this; it'll be a HUGE help.
Smoke Bombs! Now that's something I didn't consider. Thanks for the improved reupload.
Unless it was your Japanese upload, I remember you having the Tigrex and Desert Brawlers... but it's still helpful as always :)
You're a saint.
I've been flat broke since I made a HR-set and upgraded it. :)
I remember a lot of talk about how difficult zenny was to get in cross. I'm really glad folks found this out. Thanks for sharing, GH m(_ _)m
I've been doing this method for a little while now and I have an armor recommendation that works really well! Depending on what you choose for decorations, you can get charmer+2, gathering +2 and Palico rally or charmer+1, gathering+2, whim+1, and Palico rally. (You can replace whim but it's a decent five slot gathering skill)
Basically, you have to do the quest "Barrage of Blue" in the village; from this you will unlock the blue guild set! It comes with charmer, which is why I chose it. So here is my set using that armor;
A three slot weapon (I use the glaive arcane strike mostly upgraded), the armor, the gathering+10 talisman everyone gets, three gathering jewels, and five whim jewels. If you have a good charmer talisman you can swap that out to get charmer 2 and gem in the gathering jewels to get +2 of each!
Hope this helps someone :0
Thank you I haven't gotten this far yet, but I hope it is available when I get to this point. It's so hard to find good charms you actually need to use, and I know in monster hunter 4 I was quickly running out of money after buying stuff and upgrading/crafting so a little extra cash won't hurt.
This is really helpful. I'm certain I'll be struggling with Zenny later on even if I have 800,000 and am just starting high rank. (I was completing all quests before moving on so it gets you quite a bit of money)
Took a while but i FINALLY got to HR6 so that I could get this quest! Ran it about 4-5 times now. So amazing!
Spent today unlocking the coal quest. Had to solo Desert Brawlers cos couldn't find anyone interested which was annoying to say the least. Did the coal quest once. Over 20 timeworns and earned 30k zenny, and that is without selling ores. Been struggling getting zenny for upgrades but no more!
Thank you Gaijin so much, you're a huge help to the entire Monster Hunter community.
Thank you. I was having trouble upgrading armor and weapons. I'm going to try this
Nice! Now I won't have any Zenny problems. I always has Zenny problems.
I NEEDED THIS SO BADLY. Thanks
Also, in the video, I noticed that u could get deviant related skills e.g Dreadqueen, Redhelm. Are they anything useful or just there for show
Oh u explained it kl
I love your videos there the best! :-)
i for some reason only get 2 and a half rows but its ok, its still helping me loads with the zenny needs. Thanks for the video, helpful as always
The bottom row will always be full - that's what the Sakura method does.
ah ok, I thought I was doing something wrong lol
XD
11:39 I wish this method gave HEAVY armor spheres! X"D
It will only give HARD armor spheres, which is a grade lower than heavy. Otherwise, great video Gaijin Hunter.
Looking forward to more incredibly useful tutorials like this one. ^^
thank for the reupload!
I literally watched your first charm/zenny farm video in MHX/Gen about 4 hours ago. XD
Just FYI everyone, the fastest method when charm hunting is for 4 people to farcast the moment they get 3 coals and end the quest ASAP. If everyone eats for Felyne Explorer you should have the fastest access to mining spots 6 and 8. The quest should only take a minute or two to complete with 4 people, if all 4 do this for an hour that's typically 12 runs with an average of 10 charms per run making you see 120 possible charms.
So get organized and you'll have that Handicraft+5 OOO in no time!
Farcasters aren't rare or expensive. Just put exciteshrooms and sap plants in the trader and you'll have more than you'll ever need.
Handicraft is rather lackluster in this game because most weapons end up with inate max sharpness. I did this solo though and lucked out with a Fastcharge+5 3 slot charm.
+Nuke2099 Nice charm! Which weapon do you main?
The Bear
I don't main anything. A true hunter uses all the tools. I basically use everything.
Nuke2099 Okay then, what weapon do you like using most?
holy s*** thanks so much man I never knew about this
Thanks so much for dis video you made Gaijin hunter I will continue to watch dis video to learn exactly wut to do to get more zenny for my hunter cause I got to have a lot of zenny to make more weapons and armors and to upgrade them! dis btw I kind do and don't like how they changed the upgrading process on here because you have to sometimes actually use some of the materials you'll need to upgrade other important armors or even weapons.
"an anime with the name sakura in it" yeah, that really narrows it down. If it's either the title or a character, that's about half of them.
A relatively simple set that I've found for this is the Hunter S Set (the one that gives you Ranger +10) and the Gathering +10 charm you get in village. With a three slot weapon, you can gem in Heat Cancel and Gatherer +2. It just requires some bits from the smaller monsters, and some dragonite ore.
I love the easter egg of Arekkz failing a dispatch quest ;)
All good now... Thank for the vid...
Thanks for this. Google held no actual answers on the quest chain.
I use the Sakura method for collecting charms, but read it a different way (on one of the Japanese MHX websites).
・Instead of going to Area 1 first, turn on the Feline Explorer skill to mine from Area 11 down to 6→8, which decreases the possibility of a Rajan encounter (since the Rajan spawns at Area 2)
・The reward glitch will still occur if you put in 7 coal at the same time, then add 1 coal each until it reaches 12
Man, thanks a lot, upgrading those weapons eats up zennies faster than I can gather the materials to do so xD
dude many thanks, I found my self running low on zenny when I started upgrading my astral armor
Holy shit dude! You're rolling in zenny!
Didn't know I could do local play thx!
woah... i've been struggling more and more with money in gen... even more than in previous mh games... stuff gets REALLY expensive pretty fast (also with armor upgrading) and even with monster part selling and Might seed farming economy i always go broke after a few weapon upgrades. THanks alot !
One of the few easy ways to get Gathering+2
1. Build the Melahoa Armor Set (the LR variant)
2. Equip the Gathering +1 Talisman you got in the beginning
The defense of this thing is low, so be careful especially when Rajang is around.
:)
There may be people who have made this method already but at least it's good to share for those who don't. :)
Nice vid btw
But how do you get Dosbiscus?
+WhiteChocolate144 You get them when trading some materials as a side-reward. I think it is when trading Herb-related items. :3
+Jullian Sebrero Hey thanks! I got two from the farm after like 30 turns but luckily you only need two pieces of the armor along with the Tailsmen to get Gathering +2. Appreciate it!
Ah I see. Glad to help then. ^_^ Maybe because that I am used in building full armor sets... XD
Lo Lac Shal with some of the melahoa set combined with the Master Sword made a screaming good gathering set for budget players like me.
Very good method !
When I was early rank up, I was farming the Chameleos and selling the part, if this can help any people that didn't unlocked that questline yet =)
Thanks for the help!
I didn't just unlock that quest, I unlocked a shit load of village quests. Thanks a million. I'm sort of a completionest, I need to complete every quest.
Really useful trick, thanks Gaijin!
it works, thank you very much :D
Many eat for felyne explorer so you always spawn in an area with 3 blue mining spots, especially if you have charm chaser you can easily get 4-6 extra charms through that quest
thank you so much for this
@Adam, while it's not as great as Gathering +2, a Gathering cat with Gathering pro can do somewhat the same and if you have one with Ulrasonic Horn, as long as you have 1 SP to spend, you never have to worry about the small monster interrupting you or stealing from you.
Well that explains why I see people so it that way. I been doing it the cat explorer way you showed in the Japanese version.
Sorry about the spelling ,auto correct always screws up what I say XD
In addition to Gathering + 2, Marathon Runner is a great skill to use for this due to all the running around you do.
For people debating which armor to use...
Just lols.
Use the starter charm that gives + 10 to collecting
Craft or buy the standard leather armor
Add some whim+collect slots to your armor/weapons.
Just profit ....
This is also a good method to get Worn/Rusted weapons. I have about 85% of them all but it wasn't until after 400 hours of playing that I can across my first Worn/Rusted SnS. The randomness is killing me.
Wow this is crazy effective
So I've used this method a few times ... not to farm money intentionally (i.e. I don't do the quest repeatedly), but once in a while when I find myself short on cash for crafting/upgrading things. I don't worry about trying to speedrun it or anything; I just send my cat out, mine every ore node on the map (because charms), and deliver Coal in small batches.
E.g. 10 deliveries of 2 pieces each works.
hey nice video! what do you use to record?
At first thank u for the video it helps a lot!:DBut i have 1 question, does lucky cat have a effect if i get the third row with the 12 coals?
Oh my Arekkz xD that was so funny!!
the csr2 commercial scared the shit out of me.
I don't much care for efficiency, so the way I play, is to use Prowler, and only pop above ground at a mining node. I also love going for the worn weapons, so I always eat for Explorer, and also go after the blue nodes overlooking the lava pool in area 6.
I realize now that I was kinda hindering myself, since I've always been playing in offline mode, but playing like that still works for me.
Until recently I come up woth this method, thank you, I was looking to get money fast to upgrade my Nakarkos Gunlance (8400 Zeny...WOW) and I finally made it, and I still have 350k Zenny left.
UPDATE (2017) Do this On wireless local conection with a buddy. Just put exacly 12 coals ( 1 at a time, not all at once) finish the quest and you are done.
This works.
Funnily enough when I did this mission before, I was mining it with my Prowler and killed Rajang for the first time with him lol
Also, seems to be rare, but can sometimes get slick pickaxes as rewards
We understand Gaijin ^_^ we accept your mistakes and it's fine, just keep giving us great content
If you download DLC on the game you get gold and platinum eggs to sell, so, there you go
For money is way easier to do the subquest for Akantor/Ukanlos with an HBG with pierce siege mode (i do ukanlos with pierce fire from Akantor HBG)
You can collect every pieceof those monster that way or sell them, it just takes a minute and you can do 20k or more zenny if you also bring thief class palico with you
I want to ask why... I'm only get this quest went I'm in HR6 and Village 6* no less...
Get a set with the amulet hunter skill active. Eat to get explorer. Then make sure you have a preset with the following items:
Smoke bomb
Sound bomb
Cold drink
All possible pickaxes
Farcaster (baseteleport)
Start the quest.
Farm all 3 spots in the secret area you will spawn in. Drop down and youll have allways 2 spots to grab before you go to zone 8. Use a sound bomb on both remobras at the same time and start mining. Use the sound bomb whenever they are up in the air again. I usualy need 2. After a mined all the spots in this area, i use the farcaster. Deliver all coals.
If you got 10 coals until this point youll just need to go into zone 4. Otherwise go into zone 1/2/10/9 . The rajamg will allways be gone till then if you use my path. If you dont want to be seen by monsters, you can use a smoke bomb and youll be invisible to any kind of monster.
I think my way of doing it is way more consistant and gives allways at least 2 rows of charms.
Happy hunting
This works out very well, now I won't have to mine as much now.
think you could do a video about the skills and supports you prefer to have on your palicoes?
A written version to clear things up in regards to the Sakura route: www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/4u4naz/guide_to_sakura_style_talisman_farming_in_mhgen/?st=ir94qc95&sh=496e7aef
Also, apparently having Flyne Explorer helps to maximize efficiency.
I brought a plunderang-palico and generally get at least 1 rajang item. I got gold pelts and claw+-es. It's a nice extra.
I’m like SUPER late to this game but holy shit thank this is a god sand
Ok...phew. Was watching the first upload and wanted to go back to it only to find nothing.
I love that Arekkz failed his Hunters for Hire mission ahaha
somehow the granny doesn't apear, but I did beat Astalos and got the Sword...
Jon Snow you have to be able to do 6* village quests
this is actually faster if you eat for Explorer, you also get more charms!
I also recommend gemming in divine whim to reduce the chance of breaking pickaxes.
I'm not sure if this was already in Monster Hunter Generations, but you can actually teach your SPECIFIC Prowler you main, and teach them OR if they have it already, Far-cat-ster, which allows you to retreat back to the base camp with the usage of 3 gauge points. I haven't played the original Generations, because i'm currently playing the ULTIMATE version of Generations.
is this a good way to farm worn weapons as well?
been hunting that CB for forever
lol seeing arekkz lying there after a failed quest was kinda funny
YOU GOT THE WORN SWORD THAT WAY?
I am looking for that like crazy, now I have to play this quest non stop until I get it
Now imagine doing this in Crystalbeard armor.
Another Method for those of you that dont neccessarily enjoy unlocking and going on quests: If you have an excess of wycademy points (i have like 500k) you can go to the trader cat and purchase 99 lazurite jewels for about 90k points, they will net you almost 100k zenny. Ive been doing that because it takes less time and i dont really use wycademy points as much
I did talk to the granny but she didn't give me a quest then I left the village and she disappeared now I can't get her back did another couple quests she didn't appeared again
