Jimmy page was one of the greatest guitar players to ever strap on the axe!!!Still regarded as a LEGEND no matter how he played in the 80's or not lol.He still kicked ass pretty hard in those days and his music sounded better than any of the crap being played today that's fo' sho'
Saw them on this tour at the capital centre in landover MD . They were the most perfesional and polished band I have ever seen ,and I saw all the major rock groups around at that time VH ,Journey , Rush , Yes , and others . What Jimmy Page does to the guitar is magic . When he sat down in a chair during the acoustic break in midnight moonlight and improvised; it was and still is the purest performace by a guitar player I have ever seen
Finally, someone who appreciates Midnight Moonlight as much as I, it is a beautiful song, one of my favorites, I'm jealous you were able to see The Firm, love em, wish the video was better, but anytime to watch My Babe, Jimmy Page, is a good day, much love to all
Tony Franklin playing fretless bass was/is pure magic, inspired me to try it. Radioactive and Satisfaction Guaranteed are both uber fretless bass tour de forces. Saw Paul Rodgers at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA as the middle act of 3 for the 'Kihncert'.....Greg Kihn Band (with his son, Rye, on lead guitar), Paul Rodgers, then Boston (with Brad Delp still alive and belting out the vocals). Anytime Paul Rodgers takes the stage, it is magic, and put him with talent like Jimmy Page, Tony Franklin & Chris Slade....'The Firm' will never be recreated.
Saw them either the show before or show after since it was in Rochester. Jason Bonhams band Virginia Woolf was the opener. I actually just saw Bad Company the other night in Nashville and 30 years later Paul Rodgers voice has not changed one iota. I have always said if I could sing like one person he would be the one.
Thanks for putting this up! I saw the Firm 3 times and they were great. It was a great time for music! Ill take any footage of this band..you wont see alot..
Saw them at the Concord Pavilion Bay Area Calif. during this tour... they kicked ass as expected... seems like only 15 years ago, wow, do we get old FAST! Surprised they didn't sell a lot more copies than they did. I've been to a lot of concerts and the crowd at the aforementioned show was lovin it! I call for reunion tour!!!
Most Zep fans I came across thought Plant's solo work was great; they just wouldn't give The Firm any credit. Certainly not most of them, but quite a few.
I stood behind Jimmy Page's 200-watt Marshall amps with Tina at the 10/16/86 concert at U. of Illinois. Saw the laser pyramid from 9 feet away. It was a fantastic show, complete with Paul Rodgers playing a white Grand piano.
I meet so may Zeppelin fans who hated "The Firm". I can't figure them out. I saw the show from behind Jimmy's 200-watt Marshall amps. It was an experience I'll never forget. (4/1986; Assembly Hall, U of Illinois) I also saw them twice at Rosemont on both tours from the cheap seats. That band made great music; I don't give a $#@! what Zep heads seem to be programmed to think.
Ken Ruger Wow, that's unfortunate, did these same Zep fan also hate Plant's solo effort? I've never heard of such a thing, it's not like Zep was gonna reform with Jason, the Firm was the next best thing to Zep... even equally good in my mind.
Ken Ruger I'm a fan of Zeppelin's music. I haven't listened to all of Plant's stuff but I do like some of it. I'm just now listening to "The Firm" for the first time. I don't like "The Firm" and I think it has to do with Rodgers. I think it has to do with his energy. It's almost like he's up there talking instead of singing. It makes the music bland and generic. No, not every singer has to sound like Plant. I like Johnny Cash but somehow he seems to put passion into it Rodgers doesn't... or something. Not here to start arguments, just give a possible explanation why Zep fans are "programmed" to not like The Firm.
How you managed to capture this on what must have been a fair sized VHS recorder with a decent lens is beyond me but so fortunate that you did. I don't even mind the occasional tape issues, in fact I like them. Great artifacts. Times being what they were, no chance of getting a Firm concert on DVD. This is gold.
Yes, they played in Buffalo with Virgina Wolf ( Jason Bonhams band at the time). Me and a buddy took a bus trip from Toronto. Believe it was the War Memorial Arena.
I was on that bus trip....went with two chicks, we all bought Jimmy Page t-shirts....bus tour group dude on the bus named Speedy, swear I saw him at Bala a few years ago.
at this point seeing Pagey alive was enought Paul Rodgers was a nice and sooo apt btw bonus. add Allan White and this woulda' been perfect Jason can join Ann&Nancy and play Zepp' forever
never cared for plants material. Except first album and fate of nations.Page however is a different story....his post zeppelin material is masterful and very much underrated.
Saw them April 4, 1986 at the Brendan Byrne Arena @ The Meadowlands in New Jersey. Good show! As huge an LZ fan as I am, Rodgers, Franklin and Slade really stole the show from Page.
this poor VHS footage leaves a lot to be desired (it was tape, what do you expect?), but if you know anything about guitars , guitar rigs , and guitar tone , you can tel Jimmy Page is getting an awesome tone out of his set up, here.
do you have a date for this show. according to led zeppelin concert file the firm never played buffalo in 86 or 85. the support for 86 was 1st leg=virginia wolf , 2nd leg = mason ruffner. do you remember either of those?
+Learning More about stalkers, didn't his neighbor sue him for two evergreen tree, yea evergreens he,they, are Rock stars.Arbor a safe harbor, the British Navy.
Wow, Paul Rogers is surprisingly good; Page, as usual, is stinking out the joint. Page, without a doubt, has to be the most overrated and over-hyped guitar player in the history of popular music. Thanks for putting up this video, in the eighties I almost bought tickets to see these assholes. Now that I've seen this video I'm very happy that I saved my money !
I don't give a shit about the video quality, I am so fucking happy I am able to relive my favorite concert of all time. Joe Louis Arena May 2 1986 🤘🕺
I love that they refused to do any Zep or BC at all. This music stands on its own.
Jimmy page was one of the greatest guitar players to ever strap on the axe!!!Still regarded as a LEGEND no matter how he played in the 80's or not lol.He still kicked ass pretty hard in those days and his music sounded better than any of the crap being played today that's fo' sho'
Yeah, this is amazing. The scarcity of video of this band is a mystery, given the MTV revolution of the era.
That was a great team up Rodgers and Page omg best In da both albums they made The Firm hell fuck'n A
Pauls voice is smooooooooth as silk!!! He is always spot on! I am a fan of both Firm albums

They were the first concert that I ever saw, truly amazing talent.
Saw them in Daytona 1986. Page was brilliant as always. Only time I got to see Pagey....
I saw them live, twice 2 years in a row after the release of each album and each show was great! This brings back nice memories, thanks!
I did too, saw them at the L.A. Forum, Jimmy was in good form! Had floor seats the second time, They Kicked!!!
FRETLESS, FLAWLESS AND FIRM.........great lineup , I saw them in Providence.
I was there too. Great show. I think jimmy was back the following year with David Coverdale! Great stuff ☘️🥂🚬🖤
I saw them on this tour. Broom County arena NY. 1985. AWSOME!
I was there. Bus trip from Toronto. If I recall Jason Bonham's band at the time, Virginia Wolf, opened up for them.
This is truly amazing footage. You knocked it out of the park posting this. The Firm forever.
yeah rare big time, really cool footage ,wish it was whole show, but appreciate you sharing ,thanx
Thank you ❤x
Thanks for putting this up! I saw the Firm 3 times and they were great. It was a great time for music! Ill take any footage of this band..you wont see alot..
Thanks for ulploading this video. I will take any video quality I can get.

+Ken Ruger I'm not very keen on Plant's solo music. I love the first Firm Album though, as well as Jimmy's solo album, Outrider.
Page could have made any band f n great, the guy is just too cool

It wasn't 1; probably not most though. Most of them loved Plant's solo work.
I'll never forget the contrast between Tony Franklin's afro and Slade's bald head. :P
Ken Ruger I'm a fan of Zeppelin's music. I haven't listened to all of Plant's stuff but I do like some of it. I'm just now listening to "The Firm" for the first time. EMwhite Gear Demos like a Sherman tank that camera was huge I bet!
I hope everyone knows just how frickin' rare this footage is of The Firm.
Thank's a lot Fred, for upload!!! Greetings, Mica....
The Firm rocks !!!!!!! screw Plant. I love ya Robert but I sure wish Jimmy and Paul Rodgers, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham would get together
great idea :-)
Thanks again!!!
love this group. I met Jimmy and Chris Slade after show in Daytona 86
I really like the solo where he goes "squank, squank, sqwillonk, sqweeek squonk,"
Would be so cool if they had an Official release of live stuff on DVD, I don't get it. Jimmy and Paul should show some love to the Firm Fans 🤨
Yes, they played in Buffalo with Virgina Wolf ( Jason Bonhams band at the time). Me and a buddy took a bus trip from Toronto.
Believe it was the War Memorial Arena.
tim, would you know the date by any chance? would be very grateful if you could let us know.
stevieporteous
Hey Stevie...they played Buffalo on Sat Mar 29/1986
Tim Flint cheers tim. will be adding theinfo to my bootleg list.
I was on that bus trip....went with two chicks, we all bought Jimmy Page t-shirts....bus tour group dude on the bus named Speedy, swear I saw him at Bala a few years ago.
Very cool. !
I was at this show but it was in Rochester not Buffalo.
Jimmy Page has being playing since u don't know, love it
at this point seeing Pagey alive was enought Paul Rodgers was a nice and sooo apt btw bonus. add Allan White and this woulda' been perfect

never cared for plants material.
Except first album and fate of nations.Page however is a different story....his post zeppelin material is masterful and very much underrated.
saved from oblivion
saw them in jacksonville, 1st tour 85, tampa and daytona for mean buisness 86
He doesn't have too. Just listen to his voice...
Saw them April 4, 1986 at the Brendan Byrne Arena @ The Meadowlands in New Jersey. Good show! As huge an LZ fan as I am, Rodgers, Franklin and Slade really stole the show from Page.
+Mike N. I was at that one! Great show. Remember when he had Les Paul step out for a bow? Introducing him as "The Father".
this poor VHS footage leaves a lot to be desired (it was tape, what do you expect?), but if you know anything about guitars , guitar rigs , and guitar tone , you can tel Jimmy Page is getting an awesome tone out of his set up, here.
hazor777 plus Buffalo memorial auditorium the ( aud) was a great venue for concerts acoustic wise
do you have a date for this show. according to led zeppelin concert file the firm never played buffalo in 86 or 85. the support for 86 was 1st leg=virginia wolf , 2nd leg = mason ruffner. do you remember either of those?
Aweful funny that this is labeled Buffalo because they never played Buffalo but did play Rochester
I think if Page could've married the b-bender at that time, he would have.
Rodgers and Page have a shtick performance that they execute each time this song is played. Yes, it is entertaining; and, yes, they are entertainers..
+Learning More about stalkers, didn't his neighbor sue him for two evergreen tree, yea evergreens he,they, are Rock stars.Arbor a safe

any idea what date this is?
does paul rodgers move?
Tony Farina 12. Really ,he is behind a piano, you have no idea ,I will leave there
Wow, Paul Rogers is surprisingly good; Page, as usual, is stinking out the joint.
Page, without a doubt, has to be the most overrated and over-hyped guitar player in the history of popular music.

You sound like a ton of fun at parties!
jimmy page and the 80s = not that great a match
Page not even close to what he was. Damn drugs and booze! He looks lost without Plant
