This is the perfect opportunity for you, an SC2 pro using your expert knowledge of 3rd base timings, to snipe their freshly planted bases launching hundreds of their precious minerals straight into the void. But that is just the beginning; once your Disruptor count reaches a critical mass, it only takes 11 of the mechanical bad-boys to reduce a Planetary Fortress to ashes and put those sniveling DTs out of the job. 2x gas to start would be faster to get 1/1 upgrades, but that said, it's WAY more efficient to do what you did, since you're capped until you get that armory.
To capitalize on these, you might've targeted down their evo chamber on first push, which woulda reset their upgrades, and really driven home how important upgrades are as he's stuck at 0/0 to your 2/2. Though they'd economically have been far better off, I think you woulda then not pushed him into countering, and he'd not have had 1/0.

This build is a 5-7min all in, waiting for the 2nd timing attack with 3/3 is pointless since by the time it arrives the enemy would have caught up with either upgrades or unit tiers, In the 2nd game you probably could've won if you would focused on taking out production building and the army and then kept the pressure continuously with marines rather than waiting for the 3/3 and MMG mix. As you said you can trade more efficiently but you haven't really traded at all until it was too late. If you keep the pressure going they can't get upgrades and might have hard time even getting to the upper tier units. Even sending 4-5 marines at at time with a 1-2 upgrade advantage would've frozen their progress since they would've have to spend continuously on army to keep you at bay.

    Idea for BGMwSS:
    S(C)O - Strategic (Campaign) Outposts.
Whenever you build a tech structure (other than gateways), you must proxy it somewhere on the map as a strategic outpost. Each outpost must have a minimum of the following:
1 Tech Structure (such as forge, cyber core, twilight council, robo facility, stargate, robo bay, DT shrine ect.)
    1 Basic Production Structure (Gateway)
    1 Pylon OR Warp prism
1 Photon Cannon OR Shield Battery
You may also have 1 tech structure per stronghold (base), such as a cyber core in a wall, or a single stargate in the back of your capital (main).
You can *only have 1 tech structure per outpost/stronghold.*
You can hide these outposts if you want (eg for DT shrine) however they still must have the required structures. Although you should certainly have some more offensive outposts otherwise you are disqualified.
Your judgement may determine the number of/ratio of offensive outposts you must have to fulfil this objective.

  • @tatatatartine2588
    @tatatatartine2588 Před 2 lety +7

Hey Harstem: here is a concept.
Pretend you are learning to count. (or maybe you will not pretend, and just learn for real...?):
For your first nexus, you are allowed to build 1 pylon next to it
For the second nexus, you are allowed to build 2 pylon next to it
For the third nexus, you are allowed to build 3 pylon next to it
and so on... So you don't know well how to count, but if you survive, you will be rich very fast...
Or other concept: thirst for power
You need to build a separate pylon for each building you want to build (except nexus)
and another one: handle with care
you believe vespene gaz is very unstable, as nitroglycerin. So each vespene can be harvested by only 1 worker at a time
and one challenge for terran: little supply ain't no supply
you are allowed to build only one supply depot. To increase your supply after that, you must build command centers...

  • @iKonks
    @iKonks Před 2 lety

    Correct build is
    Supply
    Gas
Skip scv to get rax in time (like in standart build)
    Bay
    2nd gas
    +1
    Factory
    Armory
    +2
    +3 at 5:35
The rest is by your choice.
You can add 2nd bay when you see gas to spare. Best i got is 28 marine 4 evacs with 3-2 at 8:32. Some other stuff like 2 tanks also abvailable. But you CCs are delayed for sure

BGMWSS idea #1: Fake agression into macro. Build a proxy looking to get it scouted and try to make your opponent overreact, but intending to play macro the whole time. Something like an easily scouted proxy gate/rax or fake cannon rush without committing to the aggression into fast expand.
Suggestion 2: Rush double forge on protoss but then proceed to only rush out armor+shield upgrades, no weapon upgrades allowed.
Suggestion 3: Pretending to be AFK twist: Scout early on, as soon as your worker reaches their mineral line, ask for a PP, say something about a delivery or some other funny excuse, then proceed to quickly pause and "ACCIDENTALLY" unpause the game, pretending you didn't intend to unpause so quickly. From there, immediately pretend to be afk.
Stop your worker dead in their mineral line or similar to sell that you went AFK. Your home base should then stop producing workers, only have a pylon+1gate+1gas or whatever is a suitable amount of infrastructure for the moment you went AFK, then focus on building up your proxy base across the map.

  • @Noaxsette
    @Noaxsette Před 2 lety

Try this with marauders vs zerg. Marauders got 1 base armor, add another immediately (no need for weapon upgrade, stim does the trick). With 40% of zerglings dps going out thanks to the armor, marauders are virtually invicible with a couple medivacs. And what will the zerg do ? Roaches ? Banelings ? Vs marauders ?
The goal is to go around with medivacs and just drop them in their base to prevent them from taking any upgrade, or making a spire or an hydralisk den. You can drop them directly in a sea of zerglings because even surrounded they survive long enough to snipe a building thanks to the medivac healing and then get away with it. Bonus points if you reach 2/2 marauders vs 0/0 zerglings. That's fun !
The real counter is obviously mass queens but most zergs just panic when you start sniping their spire or hydralisk den again and again and it's very fun !

So I hit about a minute later but with 8-12 marauders added to the marines. It works pretty well in my MMR (NA plat).

Early upgrades mean 1 thing, shit early, very strong mid and decent late.
Core advantage, big value and super cost-efficient army
(if total you made 200 marines - Early Up: 20 marines unaffected + 180 marines boosted vs Late Up: 100 marines unaffected + 100 marines boosted)

if you want something for next week i suggest to review the ghost / nuke game. I feel the last time it really lacked because you had the restriction of "just ghosts", but like just have alot of annoying ghosts on the map and nuke alot might be really nice to watch.

Turtle on 2base with Protoss, no 3rd allowed, defend all incoming scouts, then all-in with counter attack and expand to 3rd at the same time after you defend the opponents first push . If your main gets scouted, you must all-in immediately. Unit comp is up to you.

i use to do this back in wings of liberty days. instead of fast reaper id go three barracks with 2 reactor core and 1 tech lab and upgrade marine attack asap with stimpack. was amazing in gold but then i got into plat and it stopped working. probably bc i was bad xD

BTMWSS suggestion: "The boy who cried NUUUKE". Do whatever else you want, but fast-tech up to ghosts and nuke the corner of the map 3 or 4 times. Then, after your opponent is convinced you're a complete idiot and can't find either your ghosts or see any nukes falling anywhere, go ahead and use them properly once or maybe twice if you feel lucky. Then go back to nuking the corner of the map for a while.

Do a bunker rush (hidden - opponent cannot see them before 3+ bunkers are build close to each other) in the style of a cannon rush. Obviously some disadvantages but also no pylons and you can most of your money back with bunkers, so the game isn't over if you don't win immediately. Also use Proxy-Barracs for vision and to limit attack surface of bunkers.

Do impressions of other people's playstyles / quirks/ famous mistakes. Eg play like the sewer mermaid with no warp gate one game. The next game if you get pvz, try to force a rage quit with hallucinations (especially void rays).
Or you could save this idea for Halloween and call it a costume challenge

Play in such a way that you announce your position or where you plan to attack, but in a misleading way. Eg 1: You have one oracle in position to attack natural mineral line and two more in position to attack base mineral line, only tell them about the oracle at natural in chat, by purposefully going into vision briefly or both. Eg 2: Say you are sending in 2 adepts, forget to mention the void ray that will be joining them. Essentially try to bait and control where and how your opponent will defend/attack with trickery while not outright lying to them. Sending in hallucinations does not count as lying.
