Tip: Always watch these quali videos at full speed, then watch it again at half or .25 speed. You get a better appreciation for what the drivers are doing at that speed.

Mercedes is a good team. The best there is. Put Hamilton in a less competent car, and he'd struggle. He's not the best, that's for sure. However, he could eventually be one of the best if he matures a bit and pushes a car to its maximum limits.
What an amazing lap considering the Mercedes is often in trouble with these track temperatures. Definetly one of the best drivers ever. I know dear Haters youre not Lucky to hear this but you have to deal with it.

Dang nice lap. For people yelling "track limits!" I assume they discuss this sort of thing during the weekend, and the drivers are allowed to extend in certain places. Some other onboards, as well as F1's FP1 highlights show drivers taking the wide line like Hamilton did. Think Austria 2002, turn 1, for example. It's not uncommon for Charlie Whiting to OK certain track extensions.

Every driver, every lap, race and qualifying, extended turns 9 and 19. It was clearly OK to do so. Verstappen cut turn 17, and was the only driver to do so throughout the entire weekend. So the only driver that gained an advantage at that turn was Verstappen, and it was for a position. Sounds like one is more unfair than the other, no?

Hamilton makes it look easy. I saw Alonso 2017 COTA qualifying after this then went back to this and Hamilton makes it look so easy and safe. Alonso's driving looked faster but it's not.
Alonso's driving is faster, the fastest on the grid, but the McLaren-Honda is slow compared to the Mercedes.

It is the teams that choose... Mercedes has chosen to run with a cam on the side, while Ferrari has chosen to run with T-cam. If anything hate on Mercedes for choosing this camera, as they got an option from FIA and chose this one.

Awesome lap, but how can they not disqualify this lap? He leaves track limits twice while exiting a corner. That probably saves him about 0.3 to 0.5 seconds, which is pretty significant during qualifying..
