Ryan was friends with Betty White. Taylor is friends with Blake and Ryan, Ryan has a cameo in her "You Need To Clam Down" MV, and Blake directed Taylor's MV "I Bet You Think About Me", which was a vault song on her re-released Red album. Also, you can hear James voice at the beginning of Taylor's song "Gorgeous" saying gorgeous.

what always amazes me about Taylor Swift is her story telling. When she gets to the part of James showing up to the party, every single person that I know or I've seen react to this song, starts asking what will happen. It really gives you this sense of anxiety and anticipation for what is about to happen. It is a talent to be able to write a song that tells a story, which then creates that feeling in everyone.
i love how Taylor shows the level maturity or at least the very different understanding of their relationship from Betty and James with such simple words.

To be honest the lyrics in this one made me angry. But it was a good song. I like how different the style of each song was and I think its a really interesting concept having the love triangle story told through 3 connected songs. It seems so unique and a really creative way of storytelling through music. Cardigan is definetly my favourite out of all 3, both for the lyrics and style. Also connected with Cardigan the most so at this stage its the only one out the 3 to make my playlist. đ”đ
