As a channel that tries to recover some Past Gems, these are tremendous news. Kudos to DirtFish for the effort to recover and preserve such invaluable footage 🙏
Thank everybody for the incredible response 🤟 we can’t wait to bring you some awesome content 🙌
Ready!!!
Sensational!! Can’t wait! Thank you.
Please don't crop or stretch the aspect ratios! It always looks crap, I'd much prefer to watch it in original format
I really hope you publish full broadcasts.
Let us relive the group B era.
Race by race
Steve's narration of rally is inseparable from the history of the sport. Brilliant👍
THIS IS AWESOME! So glad to see you guys reaching out Steve!
Steve Rider is THE sports presenter. Head and shoulders above the rest. This is fantastic!
Barrie was a master of capturing rallying. Great to see his work preserved and available. Well done Dirstfish
This really is special. Steve is a motorsport gem, his coverage of the BTCC and all the support races is really some of the best coverage you can find anywhere. From hosting the World Cup Final to Legends racing at Knockhill, we're all lucky to have him. And now he's on Dirtfish!!! Bloody hell 😂
Awesome! I literally grew up in the 80s becoming mesmerised by footage on Grandstand’s rallying coverage, in the second half of that decade, narrated by Steve Rider himself. Evocative memories of the Group B and then Group A Lancias and Celicas, driven by Alen, Kankkunen, Sainz, Auriol, Biasion, etc.
BHP’s ‘Rallying in the 80s’ video has kept me going all this time.
Crikey, never did I think that Steve Rider would pop up on DirtFish, or indeed a CZcams channel! Isn't he meant to be doing grown-up television?! This should be cool. Good work bringing all this together.
Steve Rider set the scene for rallying coverage throughout the eighties, and into the nineties, which brought motorsport into our living rooms. This cemented our love of rallying, and gave us images of international motorsport we could take to our scalextrics tracks or our radio controlled cars. The voice of UK Rally coverage, alongside Tony Mason made the R.A.C Rally an exciting outlet for our Motorsport childhood days... So great to know these achieve videos will be saved for future generations.
Fantastic news. Thank you DirtFish for uniting the wonderful BHP footage and Steve Ryder once again. Can't wait, bravo
Steve's voice just reminded me of the Vatanen Touch ,VHS tape that i had back in the day . mighty memories :)
The Vatanen Touch Too is one of the best rally videos ever, both are in CZcams.

Oh yes, as a Finn... can't wait!! 🤩 Ans Steve Rider too, great 😎👌
This is awesome!!!. My love of rallying comes from watching all of these old rallys and my own archive is quite extensive.
This has become one of the best Rally-News channels on YT. Really appreciated 🤟
Fantastic, great to see Steve on the channel!
Great News!! Looking forward to seeing this classic content!
Fantastic news. Well done Steve & DirtFish 👌
Absolutely brilliant News. Barry did more for rallying than anyone before or since. Kudos to Dirt fish for taking this project on. Looking forward to the results. Also, Steve is the man to present it. 😉
GLORIOUS
THANK YOU DIRTFISH
What a great result, Rallying at its finest. So pleased that BHP’s legacy is still enduring on Dirtfish with Steve. Looking forward to seeing this memorable era again!
Hearing Steve's voice commentating gives me goosebumps. One of my earliest memories was watching the 1987 Manx Rally on VHS that my Dad recorded for me. I watched it on repeat until the early 90s and it really instilled a love of rallying in me. When I see a Sierra Cosworth now I think of Jimmy McRae and Mark Lovell charging around the Isle of Man. The best part was the ending montage where they played The Voice by John Farnham. I'd absolutely love to watch that exact BBC coverage again!
That's amazing! Glad to see it in the light again. It could have easily been lost forever
I ran out of 80s and 90s rallies to watch on CZcams a few months ago, so I'm super excited to watch what this gold mine of history has to offer
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!
Thankyou Steve, you too are a legend.
This is such incredible news,it’s wonderful to think all the old videos can be saved and shared with everyone to enjoy, well done to everyone 🙏
now THAT is a huge W! i always wondered where all that old rally footage is because there's barely anything on youtube. THANK YOU so much guys!!!
Fantastic can’t wait to see it all . 👍🇬🇧🏆
Absolutely brilliant can’t Waite 👍👍
Great to hear steve's voice again, the locks may have whitened, but the voice is still golden.
Even to me, an American and relative newcomer to the sport, this is *_fantastic_* news! Thank you again, Steve Rimmer and the DirtFish Media Team! 👍👍
This is going to be Epic... Can't wait 👍
This is superb news & Steve Rider is the Guv'ner.
This is amazing. Thank you very much
So Dirtfish have done what official WRC has struggled to do and has never done. Great stuff Dirtfish!!
Fantastic!!!
Wow, this is awesome.
brilliant news. cant wait to see it
Wonderful!
Can’t wait, top job!
WOW!!!!
Wow this is the voice of rally for me. Fantastic scripts back then, too.
❤❤❤ These are the best of rallying, thanks for saving and showing them again ❤❤❤
Dirtfish getting it!
Amazing news 😊😊
great stuff!
Even though WRC has the Onboard footages of drivers
But it will never take what Dirtfish done best in coverage of rally to now succeed more than WRC could never done: posting their own history
EPICCCC 🤩
This is great news, looking forward tp seeing these films on screen again instead of how I did as a child on videos from sportseen videos mail ordered from cheshire
As someone that only got into rallying in 2019, I'd love to see more classic rallies like the Group B era!! And the DirtFish team and commentary is always so epic!
Fantastic!
Remember watching Grouo B on Grandstand!
Great score! Looking forward to seeing curated vintage footage, especially the early stuff from the 70s which is harder to find. Sure, Group B was exciting but the earlier years were just a cool with the Lancia Stratos, Alpine A110, Fiat 131 Abarth, Ford Escort, and the list goes on.
Fantastic News! Congratulations Dirtfish 🙏 Two people shaped my love of rallying: the writing of Martin Holmes and the videos of Barrie Hinchliffe. And I was only a child back then... Rallies in its purest form, the effort and stories that made this sport special. WRC: Please bring Service back to the roads and maybe we'll have some good rally stories to tell again!
Watching videos and Dvds such as Manta Magic, Vatanen touch, rallying in the 70s and 80s was how I got into rallying. Steves voice and his unique way of telling stories is epic.
Looking forward to see how this turns out.
You’d never see this sort of content on the WRC channel…
Well done dirtfish
Epic news , Steve and dirt fish together with the old footage
Awesome work DirtFish! Amazing work Steve Rider!!! Thx you very much!
o.m.g.
Let's goooo
Incredible! This is awesome, cannot wait to see that content.
We seem to constantly remember the Group B days and long for the excitement of this era. Now we WRC wandering aimless, looking for that something to make it special. Solution seems to be obvious. Bring back the gladiators. It's what the fans want.
the past 8 years of cars are the most spectacular and closest they have ever been to "group b" since 1986. it is not enough to interest people.
This is great news, but I'm curious to know what will happen to the non-rallying material? It would be nice to see you set up a separate channel to publish all the material related to touring cars and other forms of motorsport that BHP covered.
Amazing Steve Ryder a voice sport, for me his voice covering this rallying era was unbelievable. Dirtfish lucky to have Steve. Steve you look so fresh, too, lol. Looking forward to hearing the stories. You can't put a value on this archive. Fair play to Dirtfish. They need to take over the running of the current wrc as its in a mess....Take the coverage when Steve worked in, it was ahead of its time....coverage stagnated until Dirtfish got involved. The audience for rallying can only grow with proper coverage and stories to go with it. Although we need more manufacturers participating. The current WRC cars are wonderful...but it would be better for all if they were more basic in order to attract more manufacturers and more competition, mix it both hi speed sprint rallies with endurance events
😁👌 Amazing body of work.
I remember watching some of this coverage on ESPN in the 80’s when BFG sent Buffum off to Europe to do a few WRC events on BFG tires. Looking forward to seeing the Olympus footage from the archives.
BBC Grandstand and ITV Sport....2 channels I woulb be really proud of if I were British...
Will this include many of the British Rally Championship reviews from the 80s and 90s?
You should release them onto blu ray to recoup some of the restoration cost. Do a boxset for each year of the WRC rounds and separate boxsets for the British Rally Championship.
That’s something I would definitely buy to add to my several 100 DVDs 😂
"I'm drinking tea..."
Please keep them in there 4:3 aspect ratio don’t zoom them to 16:9.
Hoping that the on boards were kept, and maybe we can see the whole stage rather than just the 30s broadcast, maybe even multiple stages. Tony Pond, Rover Vitesse Manx 1985 is the money shot.
Please scan the 16mm film in at 2K.
I reckon u shud put on show's around the UK showing the nostalgic rally days from the 70's & 80's and maybe even the 90's, once word got out it'd be a sell out, the sight of the Group B's and the sound of a BDA, nowt better
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸💜💜💜💜
Huge…
sadly duke have started re recording their commentaries on rereleases and they just don't seem the same.
hope you actually release raw footage too, not just cutting and editing it into youtube fluff
Time when this was true: wanna win, hire a Finn.
Cant wait whats coming...
