  • Back to the 2017 WTCC collective pre-season tests at Monza Circuit, here's the last dedicated video I still had to upload about a particular WTCC car and that's the Chevrolet Cruze TC1, developed by RML Group (Ray Mallock Ltd.). The car has been built under the TC1 technical rules: 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with around 380hp, 18'' wheels, wide front and rear aerodynamic, no traction control, no ABS, front wheel drive for touring cars and a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
    Watch it in action on the Italian circuit driven by Dutch professional race driver, Tom Coronel.

      It was. It did quite well in the WTCC and BTCC. I own one with the 1.4 turbo and it’s a fun little car to drive. There’s a company called ZZperformance that makes performance parts for the Cruze/Sonic and they will turn the peppy little saloon into an absolute monster

      That's standard behaviour for front wheel driven cars. The rear is always extremely light, you have to balance the slide with the throttle under braking and in corners. As Proczyk once said "a real touring car driver never fully gets off the throttle".

    Is weird and interesting to see how different series' cars are setup, wtcc teams seem to purposely set the car up to hop curbs and do so comfortably, if that was done in a gt3 car i feel something would go horribly wrong

  • @pmbunmahafajarastanaprima5009

    At 0:22 & 2:10 the rear wheel locked up easily, do this lock up will give flat spots on rear tires?
    And at 0:24 , jump a kerbing & lifted quite high on 2 wheels, is that implying about high centre of gravity? I'm happy if someone could explain the reason behind it. Thank you.

    • @samhunter1149
      @samhunter1149 Před 4 lety +3

      The wheels won’t get big flat spot because there isn’t a lot of weight on the wheel. And the car lifting so high is because it has a lot of grip and jumping a curb while turning very hard at the same time will lift the car up a bit. Search v8 Supercars jumping kerbs and you will see some cool kerb jumping!

    is there something wrong with the suspension? Seems way too stiff, and losing a bunch of grip not having all 4 tires on the ground? idunno

    • @garydavis1955
      @garydavis1955 Před 4 lety +4

      Since it is front wheel drive, the rear has to be very stiff in order to get it to rotate through the corners....hence, it will pick up the inside rear wheel when driven aggressively through corners.

    • @Wike1991
