This was a perfectly accurate example how ISTPs use observational skills to help ourselves dodge unnecessary interactions with people. With all 4 functions in display - Ti (doing the logical thing), while observing/sensing everything that's happening around us (Se), predicting the next move of both sides and deciding what is likely to happen (Ni), while it's all basically powered by inferior Fe and basic need to spend a lot of time alone in silence.

I'm an INTJ and know the struggle too. I can copy art, but creating it is very challenging for me... The few times it comes naturally to me it's about graphs that are supposed to explain things to amateurs. I even got some art of mine published, but it was quite a struggle (my female boss told me, a man, that my choice of colors is too girlish and I tried to explain to her that her favorite colors do not provide sufficient contrast; then it's about copyright and trying to communicate with a Japanese company on that matter...)

Omg the ENFP DAY DREAM IDEA! Idk about centaurs but when I get bored in like an assembly or meeting or in class I have this thing where I imagine a dragon flying through the window and causing chaos in the room! I mean we’ve all been there narrating nature documentaries before right… like sat in class with David Attenborough voice in your head narrating about people in your class. Low-key miss some of the wacky daydreams I used of have- like when I pretended to have a magic cat in my bag or all my adventures with imaginary friends. I mean I still have them but as I get older I have them less and less and it makes me sad. I only really daydream on buses, when I’m tired or bored or something, because life gets in the way and I can’t just really sit there and daydream anymore like I want. Feel like I just need to sit down and give myself time to daydream… she says as if she hasn’t done several self insert day dreams into Spider-Man and Gilmore girls today alone. It’s like fan fiction but out loud and I’m actually there 😂

The level of accuracy that blew me away is that my ENFP daydreams typically spark off of some minor possibility or philosophical question, transition into conjuring alternate versions of myself discussing the subject of the daydream, and then finish with me phrasing some question I pulled from the dream to someone around me. If I'm alone, I imagine asking the most interesting person related to the topic that question and then go back to the discussion step.
The ENFP character from the video went through this process for so many layers, I had to go back and count them because I lost track.

So is the narrating your own life, and turning to the “camera” and “breaking the fourth wall” like if you were on a tv show, or talking to imaginary friends or the time I pretended there was a cat in my bag for like a term in year 7 (fun times!) although I love daydreaming I realise how much time I’ve actually spent in my own head! But yes this process is so true, the day dream layers and imagining different things and imagining who you could be and what you could do and your ideal self with wacky ideas intertwined and then doing it with other people too and then out-loud continuing questions raised in the day dream failing to realise that that person wasn’t in the day dream

LMAO, as an ENTP, I gotta say that ENTP bit, happens to me a lot.
If you wonder what happens in my brain, when that happens. Rather than daydreaming like the ENFP, and unlike ENTP stereotypes, due to Ti, when i think about something I tend to disconnect. So I am Ne Ti Fe engaged with everyone, and suddenly an idea of something I have not thought about pops in my head and I have to analyze it. But unlike ENTP stereotypes, I mostly analyze it myself, without discussing it with others. Also on topics I know not much about, I also stay silent, because either I want to gather more info from the conversation. Or I have to think what they are saying through to see if it makes sense to me.
So, because of that, that happens often, one time I am very social and seem like an extrovert, the next time I just not talk at all and get stuck in my head analyzing things. But I am surprised this is the first time I see this trait mentioned in any video. I am not sure if it is something that happens to all ENTPs, but at least it happens to me.

As an INTJ, this has to be one of my favourite skits yet.
I can confirm that it is not unheard of for me to occasionally forget things by focusing on several things at once. I used to forget things more often, but I think I’ve improved considerably. The use of alarms, as well as various memorization techniques I would often employ for exams, allows me to recall a long list of sequential or simultaneous tasks I must complete. That being said, if it is not paramount to complete those tasks at that given time, I am also a master in justifying to myself that the task may be done later, so that I may focus on things likely not even on the list to begin with, but no less important to the completion of my long term plans.
Clever use of the title of the book for the INFJ as well. The fact that it seems the book is about art, but that it was used to emphasize the INFJ’s desire for social boundaries was quite funny.

I’m ENFP, my mom was ESFJ, dad ISTP and my sister is an ISTJ. I find my sister far less robotic and a bit more chatty than the stereotypical ISTJ as she had me and my mom all over her. She has her moments, trust me but we were a decent influence on her. As for me, I hate being late and I’m not flaky for an ENFP. I also have a very definitive set of life guidelines: no drugs at all, be careful who you make friends with and go to bed at a decent time. Very unlike an ENFP but I lived the crazy life before and I’ve learned a few things since!

As an ENTP that is so accurate lol that happens a lot, especially when the conversation gets boring, and i'm not interested anymore, then i look for something more interesting in my mind, so if we are talking and i suddenly zoned out, i probably moved on from the conversation we were having, and am having another one in my head. If my face looks serious then it probably got really challenging and i'm arguing/debating my own self at that point.

The ESFJ has temporarily found a conversational partner in the ENTP. She manages 3 minutes of enthusiastic conversation before being abruptly dismissed by the Ne-black hole that has overpowered the ENTP - a tactic similar to but more covert than the ISTP, it has long been speculated by behavioural scientists that this peculiarity of the ENTP is both/either genuine and intentional, though it is impossible to tell when is which, nor whether they are mutually exclusive. Experience tells her she will not be back any time soon, and when she does the ESFJ will be hit by a non sequitur abstract question with vague parameters on multiple scales of thought that she will have dwindling patience for. Resigned and unwilling to become prey herself, she continues stalking the house for conversation - hence INFJ and ISFJ in the closet.

(ENFP) I used to narrate, in real time, my last known places in my head as if I were missing and detectives were trying to piece together what happened to me. "Rebecca was last seen walking north from this video footage, later her cellphone pinged off this tower..."
One of my favorite daydreams was when I visited the grand canyon. I was on one outlook point and I saw two guys on a cliff out on another outlook. I wanted to take a picture of them because the image was beautiful. But how would I send the photo to them? The distance was too far to walk and I didn't know what they looked like up close. So I imagined yelling across the distance, miming with hand gestures that I took a photo of them, and I need a number to send it. I wish taking pictures of strangers (for their records, not mine) was more socially acceptable. After running, I saw a skateboarder and I so badly wanted to record him doing tricks with his phone, just so he could have it. It's not weird to me, but I guess it would be weird to others to have a stranger ask that.

    • @Meg_intheclouds
      @Meg_intheclouds Před 2 lety +2

Omg I relate to this sm! I have slightly different day dreams, my narration ones tend to revolve around me being in a film or like a tv show like I was Rory Gilmore in Gilmore girls or maddie hatter in ever after high or like think Brittney from glee (ENFP Queen- we love her) who turns to the camera and just narrates, that is me walking down corridors at school. Do it in class I will just randomly start narrating and in my head I’m in a tv show. I very much describe myself as maddie hatter from ever after high (who there is debate about whether she is an entp or an Enfp I actually think she’s an entp) but yeah I love how it’s not just me. It is a cycle though because especially when I was younger everyone thought I was weird for my day dreams and Narrating aloud and my general ENFPness, so that made me go into my head more and daydream to navigate life as I see everything through fiction and fantasy- which lead to everyone thinking I was even more weird- but hey I’m a great conversationalist with myself, and I was never really alone with imaginary friends and escaping through fictional worlds and day dreams…
I mean they had a Point I am weird, but I also don’t care I love how I am so. I just wish sometimes people understood but this kind of thing and learning about mbti made me go yay I’m not alone

0:58 I am an INTP happily married to a wonderful ESFJ. Everything about that ESFJ is correct. They know when we come into the building and they have food and gifts available. Even her little walk, corrected posture, and pleased look on her face. Depending on the day mine will run at me and throw her arms around me or gently "pad" around the house like in the video. It's a shame that a personality who thrives on contact with other people is often disrespected on line by social outcasts. There is no other personality that will purposely give so much to others. I will be at my desk studying or working on something and she will quietly place a plate of cookies and a cup of tea next to me. That's called love. I have learned to let her "sing" meaning that I've learn to chat with her about all kinds of silly small talk topics. Her voice has become a song. I need to remind people that it isn't the topic of conversation that matters it is the connection that they are making. They are connecting to you in love. We will also discuss philosophy, neurology, chemistry (all of which are passions of mine) and she is able to swim these deep waters. Sometimes she'll misconstrue something as a flirt and break the conversation but that is also called love.
If you are an ESFJ reading this just know that I understand and I respect and love you for who you are. Please don't pay attention to the critics, we often criticize those who we instinctually know are our betters.

I loved this so much! I just discovered this channel & it's great. I'm an INTP myself. I have some small criticisms of the MBTI as it's fairly easy to cheat, but the worst is how people take it so strongly to the heart of their Identity.
What i especially appreciate about your videos is that you remind people that while their type is their normal inclination, it is possible to approach the world differently (although it might take more effort).
This is, in fact a problem I'm trying to solve. As an INTP I really do lose interest in projects once I've figured out how to do them. I'm *trying* to fix this by being more of an ISTP - which for me, seems easier to do if I'm working on a project immediately in front of me & by focusing on mastering whatever tool (I'm a programmer) I'm using to get a job DONE.
