      @MTMILITIAMAN7.62 Před rokem +1

      @@nexpro6118 5.56 does fine for suppressive fire, maybe even better than the 7.62 because you can carry twice as much of it. The 7.62 is better because volume is fine but accuracy is final. Being able to reach out and put a man's dick in the dirt from half a mile negates the need for suppressive fire. I am the guy that carries the big stuff. I EDC a Glock 20 loaded with Underwood 200 gr JHP, my bedside is a Mossberg with 3" 15 pellet 00 buckshot, and my ride or die rifle is an Aero Precision AR10. It is nice to be able to shoot someone five times in a second, but better still to not have to.

    Old timer here that actually carried a G3 into combat. Doctrine of the time was to simply not use the safety, you carried the rifle with the charging handle pulled and locked, if the need arose to engage you hit it and went to work. Thus no need for the safety, before hitting the handle there is nothing in the chamber to fire. Once you're done, you reload and relock the charging handle and onwards you go.

    For me, I pick the AR-10. I tried to like my Springfield M1A. But I can only have so many parts rattle loose or fall off of my rifles before I lose confidence in them. I got an Aero Precision M5, and it has been functionally superior to my M1A in every way. It is more reliable, more accurate, easier to maintain and accessorize, and parts don't rattle loose or fall off of it. I have more rounds through it with less pampering. I hunt with my AR-10, I take it in the woods, and it functions rain, shine, or snow. Cold and wet, hot and dry, steel cased garbage or match handloads, it doesn't matter. My Aero Precision has gone thousands of rounds without issue and is my go-to working rifle.

    Really like to see your thoughts on the HK MR762a1. I can't say enough good things about it. I have an OSS 762 TI flow through suppressor and it consistently shoots 1/2 moa, solid, doesn't rattle, low felt recoil, no gas in the face. Yeah it looks good, but it's accuracy and reliability are what sold me on it. When you need it to work, it works. It's like land rover vs toyota land cruiser. Like the saying goes, if you want to go into the outback, take a land rover. If you want to come back, take a land cruiser. Same with the MR762, you fall in a stream, you can still come out firing until the mag is empty. Good to know it will do it even if you never need it. Thanks guys.
