    Everyone knows that major brands produce great products. But lesser-known brands make quality parts as well. Retired Navy SEAL Mark "Coch" Cochiolo likes finding and using smaller brands of quality that function well.
    TakPack got a wind of this and sent "Coch" a box AR parts and accessories for him to try out on his own. (All of the parts are from previous TacPack boxes.)
    So, Coch is selecting the parts he wants to use in this video, and in part 2, he will have everything assembled, test everything on the range, and give his thoughts.

    Really appreciate you doing videos like this to prove that even blue collar family guys can afford to build a functional rifle.

    As a southpaw, I prefer conventional right handed fire controls as I can feel the safety with my trigger finger and I manipulate the bolt release with my trigger finger

    Hey Coch, since you have inside knowledge of the SCAR, can you do an “upgrades you consider giving thought to” video to. Especially various scopes - optics segment. Scar heavy is my interest.

    I wish some of the actual big boxes I got from them had as much in them as you got in yours. You said the quiet part last. That was NOT a typical Big Box from TacPack, it was an example of stuff they have sent out previously.

    It's nice that they sent you all that gear. It's a bit of a slight to the normal us membership folks though, since you would NEVER get all that gear in a single box, and are required to order every box each month in hopes of getting something good. Instead we get boxes with 1, maybe 2, (sometimes 0) good items and a bunch of filler gear or other crap no one really wants. I think they'd have a much better membership if they'd maybe offer one box a quarter and it was filled with solid gear, weapon parts, etc. Or offer a "weapons" type special order box, even if it cost more $$, and fill it all with solid choice gear like they did in yours.

    Mystery box subscriptions are IQ tests, to be honest. It makes more sense to the seller than the buyer. Now if you could make your own list of "what" (i.e., magazines) and the company picked the "who" (i.e., Magpul/Surefeed) from a list of multiple manufacturers, it would be worthwhile.

    Good video. I'd avoid Luth-AR products like the plague. I got two of their stripped upper receivers and the channel along the top was out-of-spec enough that it incorrectly clocked the bolt (incorrectly aligned cam pin). If the bolt isn't correctly clocked when it enters the barrel extension then the bolt lugs just contact the rear of the barrel extension and it doesn't permit the proper functionality. I installed all of the parts from those two stripped uppers (neither worked) onto upper receivers from bravo company USA and Anderson and they worked flawlessly. Furthermore, when informed with a detailed account of the issues, Luth asks for the receivers back to inspect (you pay for shipping, not them) and then they inform you the uppers are in-spec and then they keep the uppers AND your money. Don't do business with Luth-AR. Just a shyte company, really.

    • @jameshill5304
      @jameshill5304 Před rokem

      I have no experience with their uppers. Although I did buy the Luth MBA 1 stock and it’s fantastic. Been using it for a couple years now on my 18 in 223 wylde.
