This little man was simply brilliant.He scored every type of goal,chips,lobs, long rangd shots , a genius in the penalty area.He mastered the change of direction and was able to throw defenders off balance.He had a burst of speed that enabled him to leave defenders .He was also very good i the air although he stood barely 5 ft 6 ins tall.He was also quite a strong player, look at his shoulders,look at his leg muscles.Despite his small stature ,he could not be bullied off the ball.He was not recognised as a free kick speciialist,yet look at the with which he did it.Any dead ball master would be proud to score freekicks with such audacity.He was a master of placement and he seemed to have ice in his veins.His composure in front of goal was legendary and he was a very smart player.By the way he scored 55 goals in 70 international appearances for Brazil.That is a strike rate of 78.571%, how many modern strikers can match that at the international level?Romario was a natural,truly one of the greatest strikers in thd history of the game.
The ball seems to follow him the entire time. We often see RomĂĄrio isolated somewhere close to the area, sometimes it seems strange to us, but he, who is a genius, is in the exact place where the ball will go. This is what sets Romario apart from the rest of the world, positioning and finishing at a much higher level.

Look up Romario and Ronaldo 1997 and be delighted by the best forward duo of all time (Romario was 32 and Ronaldo was 20).
RomĂĄrio was definitely the most decisive scorer Brazil has ever had; also, I have never seen anyone else use the tip of the foot as he does, that is a very difficult skill that is very common in indoor football, and RomĂĄrio scores a lot of goals using it, sometimes even from outside of the box.
By decisive I mean able to score when opportunity presents itself.
Romario had by far the best positioning all time in football. And his finishing was easily one of the bests. And a true champion.

Something I love about Romario's style of play is how meticulously measured his shots are. Most players will do full leg swings and contort their whole bodies to kick the ball, but Romario just taps it with only the amount of power needed to score. Just look at him go, he almost never commits to a full swing, he just taps that fucker like he's giving it a friendly pat, and scores.
Here in Brazil we say Romario has a surgeon style of play

He was poor; he grown up in Jacarezinho's favela, a very poor and violent community of Rio de Janeiro, and he played, when he was a little boy, between most old boys and it maked he so fast and smart. The most old boys didn't relive for young ROMĂRIO, and he needed jump and think and run so fast yet. If he didn't it, he was hurting every time, and he loved play football. It he was liked to PelĂ©, whose father stayed a invalid player soon with violence's rivals. It is very good and Ronaldo Fenomeno was more hability and fast than ROMĂRIO, but ROMĂRIO was very much letal and need.
