    Duik (R.I.P - Bassel) is a very complex script and really hard to understand without any knowledge of 3d rigging systems. In your tutorial actually you introduced people to basic rigging system which is a little bit different than the usual 3d rigging system. Thats perfect! As you said in the tutorial ''that was just a basic introduction to Duik'' but now we are really looking for the other features like face expressions, complex rigging systems, animal skeleton or may be more fantastic ideas that you can show us :) Really appreciate the tutorial and your clear narrator way. Thanks a lot.

    Edit: Only tiny hurdle I had was finding the Zeros button. But that's resolved in my version (16.2.24) by switching the interface from "Rookie" to "Standard" in the options.

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Před 5 lety

    • @aaronboothproduction
      @aaronboothproduction Před 5 lety

      @@JakeInMotion I followed this step by step and this x position issue happened to me just as Jared Hutchinson described. What do you mean by "parented the layers properly"? The program made the parents automatically. And I adjusted them/lined them up in the exact order you did?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Před 5 lety

      The only reason I can think of for the layers moving to the far side of the screen are layers not properly parented. I realize duik automatically parents the structures when it generates them, but something must have messed up the parenting structure. Fantastic and thorough tutorial! appreciate you walking us through it (heh). One thing I never messed with was zeroing controllers, it was kind of intimidating to me with all the hidden/locked layers involved but now I see how useful they can be! One thing I hope they add to the walk cycle automation (which is insane btw) is the ability to bake your cycle into looped keyframes. That would be a very powerful starting point for custom walks. The only thing that is confusing to me is how the hell do you only have 300k views? this is an amazing video that promises and delivers; i feel this was a perfect jumpstart on how to use DUIK (and I'm not even rigging a human character). thank you so much! subscribed!

    Kudos man you nailed it. I really learnt quickly the methods of rigging in Ae using duik 16. I was using v15.11 but v16 is amazing.

    I like that you don't waste time here. I always end up skipping through tutorials when they go too slow. But you're giving good info most of the time here. So I just skipped the part were you play with the walk cycle controllers (which is useful anyway, Just not what I needed)
    thank you
