See you got a lot of MK5 GTI vids! Suprised I haven’t came across your channel yet. Earned my sub for sure! 🤙🏻
Few more to come!
Great detailed video, thanks
Super channel , dont know why you dnt have more subscribers
its good that you went with the Sachs metal slave cylinder. When I replaced mine, I used what came in my kit which was a LuK dual piece slave cylinder, and after about 2 years its now leaking from where the 2 pieces joins. From what I heard and researched, the all metal one can still fail where the bearing is located just like the plastic one but can't fail where the joint is like the plastic one.
Good to know!
What i did is get a sach clutch 400hp and luk dual flywheel for it
Hello, is this the first clutch on this vehicle? And do you possibly know which engine code this car has? Thanks
I believe this is the first clutch ever changed on this car, although it has 220,00Km. The engine code is a BWA (Australian delivered build date 09/2006)
VW doesn't have pilot bearing in the crankshaft?
Didn’t see one.
Hi - thanks for putting this series together. my 2008 gti is about to have the same clutch put in it. What are you long term views on 4 months into living with it every day? I track my golf and whilst its on standard power (no ecu mapping) I might do that later, hence the better clutch now whilst the trans is going to be out. Thanks.
It’s been reliable. The quality of engagement has declined a little, and it’s not as smooth as it used to be to on a low rpm start from stop. SACHS has released a new product though, they now sell a sprung clutch disc rated for 550Nm that’s definitely worth a look! Part number 881861 999878!
Been running this clutch in my s3 for years 50.000km still going strong
I'm about 6 weeks / 3000km with the clutch now and so far so good as a daily driver. Whilst its heavy, it's quite easy to get used to. Can be a little shuddery when engaging at less than 1000rpm but not terrible. Does not tolerate engagement RPM from standstill above about 2000rpm and will very quickly get very smelly. @@saltyfish24
@middle-agedmtbhack8298 mine shuddered for the first 800km or so then settled down
Well said. @@middle-agedmtbhack8298

I’m in ca bro and just bofhnf a mk5 im thinking of going K04 eventually but what’s the best cheapest option for that ?
Get a used one off an Audi S3 or Mk6 R. If you want a new one, Mamba turbo are now doing a good kit.
Mamba turbo ? Send the kit or maybe one for an s3 I have a tsi mk5 does that matter ?
Can’t I get a TTRS to fit on my tsi ? The clutch kit. Where can I get one ?
