Totally agreed. His Mercutio is definitely my fav! And btw is he still acting? I can't seem to find recent news about him, I think since he broke up with Dora... (sobs)
He is but not at the same theatre and he was on television to. I love his work to so I hope he will have jobs like this in the future :)
Unfortunately they are not together with Dóra anymore (Dóra is Juliet) and they no longer perform this amazing musical anymore. I mean, the original characters of the Hungarian musical. :( Zoli does sing and act, still.
The french is the most elegant, the italian has the best acting, but still the hungarian version is my favourite. I am hungarian as well, I grew up watching the Romeo and Juliet musical, and once I saw it in person (thank you mom). It wasn't with the OG cast, but at least Dolhai (Romeo) played in it. The best moment in my childhood was, when I heard the beat of Les rois du monde :D
John Eyzen, Zoltan, and Luca GIACOMELLI. I really can’t choose who I love the most. They all have their charm
1:42 it gaves me chills every time. Bereczki's performance may not be the best, but he has such passion like John Eyzen (2010, France) while for example Philippe d'Avilla (2001, France) sings beautifully, but I don't get heartbreak from his performance.
You underestimate how highly Zoli's Mercutio is regarded in the international RetJ fandom. He is considered one of the best, if not THE best Mercutio and not just by Hungarian fans. He is really that good in the role.

I hoped that you'll add the part in the Hungarian version where Mercutio (Bereczki) says that "Megátkozom én egész Veronát!" and you did. I get chills every time I listen to that part.

I don't think that I have a favourite version of this musical I love the French versions, the Italian one and of course the Hungarian.
(Which somehow I am always able to separate from the rest when you cut to it. I suppose it's because I have watched it more than once alongside with the original French version.)
The other versions have their charm too, I assume.

Kösz. Vannak olyan meghatározó pillanatok a magyar verzióban, amit szerintem is vétek lenne kihagyni, mint a részlet, amit említettél. :)
C'est Pas Ma Faute- nél említetted, hogy vannak olyan verziók amik különböznek a dallamban és azért kimaradtak. Ami érdekelne az az, hogy a kimaradtaknál mind ugyanaz a dal vagy azok is különböznek?
Bocs elég hülye kérdés tudom de kiváncsi lettem.
Megtudnád adni az olasz verzióhoz a linket csak ehhez a számhoz (C'est Pas Ma Faute). Ha különbözik a francia verziótol a szövege akkor tudo e, hogy van e esetleg angol feliratos változat hozzá?
C'est Pas Ma Faute- nél a dalok ugyanazok a többi verzióban is, csak más hangnemben éneklik őket. A Comment Lui Dire-nél (Hogy mondjam el) összevágtam a különböző hangnemű dalokat és hát a végeredmény nem lett az igazi. Szerintem nagyon zavaró mikor vált a hangnem, nem áll össze a dal egy egészé. (Lehet egyszer újracsinálom csak az összeillő verziókkal.)
Az olasz verziót keresd így: Romeo e Giulietta - Ama e cambia il mondo - Non ho colpa

1) The most obvious one 🙃
2) Mercutio was just clinging to life with all his strength.
The second one, though, doesn't quite tell why he had to do it in that particular way. So...
I love the french versions! My favorite is the 2010 version, I love Damien Sargue, John Eyzen and Cyril Niccolai... But OMG! the Kiss in the italian version is fantastic !

It's so good to see a bit on the Dutch/Flemish version in there. I have seen that version 8 times total when it toured in The Netherlands and Belgium, and just hearing that one line brought me back to 17 years ago and all the pain and tears that scene brought me. Dieter Verhaegen just freaking killed that scene.
May I ask where you found that clip, I've been looking for a recording of that version for ages?

@@ozibiuszanissza3732 There are a few interpretations as to why- one being Mercutio might've been in love with Romeo and his last act was to show it, and another being it was was a kiss of death to condemn Romeo later on! There was another about the time period where a kiss signified a promise or a salute, but I can't remember the full explanation for that one-

I'm not that familiar with the Italian version, but I think the gist of it is that in this version Mercutio is clearly in love with Romeo, and as his final act he can finally show it by kissing Romeo.

1. first Mercutio is in love with Romeo and this is why he kiss Romeo
2. second during the Middle Ages the kiss was symbol of promise and salute.

It's on Yoututbe. Look for the 2010 version, not simply for the songs and you'll find it.

Everyone saying that their country's version is the best.. Take a step back people, France 2001 is the first version, and the best one hands down.
Nothing like the original, the newer version of mercutio (french version) i reaaally dont like it, to me its overreacted and annoying 🤷
