I would be very interested to see the bit that they glossed over, about how how much water it takes to raise beef vs plants, specifically based on protein. That's a whole lot of soy beans to equal the same amount from just one cow.
Meat needing more water tells me almost nothing relevant at all. What happens to the water? Does it get irreversibly polluted? Why doesn't it enter back into the water cycle?
Pretty much all health concerns about eating meat can be eliminated by 1)not eating too much too often 2)eating lower fat meat 3)not deep frying it.

Meat is the safest food source. You can cook just about any animal, and safely consume it. Plants on the other hand were centuries of trial and error, of death from poisoning, in order to find out what is editable.

The part about eating meat causing cancer has everything to do with the cooking method. Similar cooking methods with anything (including vegetables) can create carcinogens.

Worth noting is that water given to cattle does not vanish. It just becomes part of that water cycle that we all learned about in grade school. Same with water given to plants. Nothing is lost. If there is a drought, then you might have trouble raising animals or plants -- as the almond growers in California learned. And if you want impressive numbers, look up the amount of water needed to make a cotton t-shirt. But, again, the water isn't lost -- it's just used and then cycled back into the system.

Ooooh yeah, missing out on all the saturated fat clogging my arteries. I miss chewing nasty ass fat pieces in my food. I miss having to season the shit out of the meat because it tastes fucking gross without condiments, pepper, and seasoning.
I mean I prefer a vegetarian diet over any of the other two. I've had meat before, and while it is good I just feel better when I eat vegetarian foods. I feel more energetic and healthy. So maybe I am technically missing out, but that doesn't bother me because I'm content. I generally only make an exception when a family holiday comes around.

i am a smoker and a red meat eater, so were my grandparents, all 4 of them, and they all lived into their late 90s. just as smoking and red meat can cause cancer, other things can prevent cancer. having a balanced diet and a balanced life is by far the healthiest and best option. there is absolutely nothing that is always good for you, and there is absolutely nothing in the world that is always bad for you either. everything is theoretically bad, and everything is also theoretically good. a woman in London in 2008 died from drinking too much water. now is water bad for you? no, i think we all universally agree that water is not only good, but essential to your health. but it killed someone. someone died directly from drinking too much water. does that make it bad? no it doesnt, just like eating red meat isn't bad, it's when you eat too much of it that it becomes bad. here's an example: i once had a girlfriend who tried being a vegan for 8 months, and then spent 4 months in a hospital because she almost died of anemia and a severe case of eczema due to a lack or iron and protein in her body. see what i mean? someone who eats too much red meat is told to eat some fruits and vegetables to balance their diet, while those who eat too many fruits and vegetables are told to eat more red meat. there is no perfect diet, except for the one that includes any and all foods. that to me, is the wisest and best way to live. a little bit of everything, and too much of nothing, and you'll be healthy and strong for a very, very long time.
