- Adam Lallana says he always knew Alexis Mac Allister would be a star in English football.
It maybe took a while for the Argentine to settle into life in the Premier League upon signing in 2019 but fast forward to now and he's a key player for Brighton, wanted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe and a World Cup winner.
Here, Lallana reveals what he's like off the pitch and how he was left amazed by his relationship with Lionel Messi on the pitch.

Adam was our best player for like a year and a half. If it wasn't for injuries man...
Have to agree with Chrissy, injuries, injuries, injuries...Doesn't matter how talented you are if your in the sick bay most of the time, you can't be a consistent starter..Liverpool knew he was wonderful, but reality is what it is..

McAllister filled in all the gaps, and was basically Messi's legs, work rate, and playmaking role that Messi could no longer do due to age. Mac did the 80% of the old Messi, which left Messi to wander n rest more out wide until he had to put in his 20% focused attacking bursts! Mac provided the work rate energy n fight all over the pitch taking pressure off Messi whi cud then just focus on his specialist saber like attacking thrusts.👍

i am suprised when Adam speak of mac allister picking the language, i watch mac interview with liverpool and he speak so fluently. This shows great learning attitude and of course as mentioned by Adam, mac does have great football inteligence one who doesnt dwell on the ball and his vision of the space around him is such a talent.

Unfortunately, Adam’s time at Liverpool was riddled with injuries, and he couldn’t build any kind of momentum. When he got to play a few games on the trot, he showed his undoubted ability, and I believe he could have been a vital member of the team.
As for Alexis, I can’t give him higher praise than to say he reminds me a lot of Messi!
