    My 2007 750li e65 e66 ran great for a mon😮 after purchase,then started smoking misfiring wasting gas.A cheap obd2 reader said failed exhaust cam pos sensor,bank 2,and multiple misfire codes.I replaced all 4 cam pos sensors,new spark plugs,new battery.Smoking stopped,but still rough idle,misfires.I got a cheap $5 non contact electric voltage probe,that detects voltage near live wires and beeps,flashes if electric is present,and touched to each coul pack,after removing top bmw cover,side covers on engine.The coil packs all had voltage.The non contact probe wont tell you if they are weak or failing though.I replaced all 8 coil packs.The cheap obd now reads cam pos sensors A intake sensor overtiming of camshaft,and the ECU doesn't like the electrical reading of the B exhaust sensors.I canmot program or erase codes adjust timing,or reset ECU with this cheap obd2.Bought a ancel fully compatible BMW obd1-2 program scanner for $88 on ebay.Or the foxwell nt 510 is bmw compatible programmable for $125.Also replaced the oil pressure hoses and relief valve,its directly in front of you,center of the engine,when opening hood,on top of engine.This affects the camshaft lubrication and can cause bad sensor readings by ECU if clogged or bad.Also a weak or bad battery can cause multiple sensor readings by ECU.Reprogrammed timing timing,and engine runs good now.If any aftermarket parts are used on BMW,the ECU must be reset,as well as new battery registration,as the ECU stillbthinks its reading parameters of the old parts.

    I suggest to only replace the door hold struts that are bad…likely the front doors….I’ve owned several m73 products and you need to preserve capital for the next big doller item…agree the 12 cyl engine is very robust and vey fun! but cooling issues are commonplace including parts located deep into the V. You can easily spend 3--4000$ If you need to go into the V and replace pipes…..once you go into the V it’s smart to replace everything as the labor can kill you. Many parts are plastic and they cook under the hood…. Also consider replacing the plastic fan…they get brittle and they can explode and destroy EVERYTHING in the front including slicing through the steel hood !!!!! Killing: belts, hoses, filter boxes, radiator….This I know first hand!

    If the trans has shavings in the fluid and gunk it will cause the trans to wear in places it normally wouldn't so draining and replacing fluid will mess it up there won't be anything filling the gap between the disks

    Overall 3.0D in the pre LF model is the best. Some comments, the NAVI unit going bad brakes the optic cable circle, you can just bypass it and the rest of the units will work.

    The car came out in 2001 not 2003, there was never a problem with the I drive itself , the doors is a rubber from 4 € , dynamic drive failure is the steering wheel sensor from 12 euro, boot is just an oil refill, service gearbox is only at 150000; so in the end you now no anything about e 65 point.

      Very much a different critter than these 7 series. But sounds a lot like a throwout/release bearing. It rides between your pressure plate and the clutch fork. When your foot is off the clutch it will rattle around and make a big sound, when you load it up by pressing the pedal it will probably still make a low humming noise that you can feel in the clutch pedal. Never had to replace a clutch in any of my cars, but sure have done a lot of throwout bearings and slave cylinders.

    Hi, i owned a facelifted e66 v8 2006 750li, i ve been driving it for few years never really had any issue but 1 and this issue keep happening but it never actually cause any real problem to the car so i kinda ignore it, but it still bothering me and im not sure what cause the issue , hope u can help me out. I live in VietNam South East Asian country , the traffic here is quite slow so most the time i drive with speed under 30 miles/hour. This issue only happen after i start the engine and drive for 10-15 minus, and it mostly happen when i start driving uphill and slowly accelerate from around 25 miles/ h to 35 miles/h and that is when the car start a series of vibration/ shaking that i feel like it come from under/below the car. The vibration/shaking come in waves, it vibrating for like 2 seconds and then stop for like 0.5 sec and then vibrate again 2 secs and repeat few times. When i almost reach the top of the hill , it stop. I really confuse about this and its been happening for years and no mechanic in my city can actually figured out the issue correctly. Please help me out on this , thank u so much.

    Whole car is a problem. In 2003 it was something special, but now you can get much better multimedia from chinese for 100 euros. If you like to spend free time in garage, buy it. Also, this guy drive's UK model, with lower mileage than in European models. Newer models from 2006 was also crap, but many mistakes was fixed. Overall, it's just crap, that's why those E65 are so cheap. The only thing i like in these cars are ventilated seats with massage function

    • @vytautasdaugirdas8405
      @vytautasdaugirdas8405 Před rokem +2

      I just want to say, that for normal guy, who's working not with cars, don't like to spend freetime in garage and etc. It will be big problem, because those ones have lot's of small troubles. And in car service you gonna pay a lot of for even every small repair. But if you are that one "garage guy" that will be no problem, because it's easy to repair, because there are lot of info. My friend have one, and he's always asking for my help if someone happens, but it's diesel. And it was lot of small troubles - Webasto heater, tyre pressure sensors, because they die after 4-6 years, adaptive headlights, driver's seat sensor, who gives info when you're sitting in place, door motor's, who pull door if you're not closing them fully, and that V8 diesel engine... You have one with very big petrol engine, so it was with low mileage. But with those diesels with higher mileage it will be just a big problem for simple person, who don't know anything about cars. It's very cool inside, fun to drive, but i think it's for guys who can do something by themselves, because there are lot's ir everything inside and it's pretty hard to watch everything for working perfectly
