  • Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has apologised to the victims of the infected blood scandal, saying it was a "day of shame for the British state".
    Mr Sunak said the scandal should have been avoided as he gave a statement in the House of Commons after the publication of the Infected Blood Inquiry's final report.
    The document blamed "successive governments, the NHS, and blood services" for failures that led to 30,000 people being "knowingly" infected with either HIV or Hepatitis C through blood products - around 3,000 of whom have now died.

    No, the shame falls on the companies who supplied the contaminated blood products, the NHS, and the politicians who failed to call it out and stop it... repeatedly.

    • @arfgrogue5735
      @arfgrogue5735 Před 13 dny +1

      This started as early as 1970 to 1990... so the people initially involved are most likely dead now.
      And for once, the current people within the government would also not be to blame since it ended over 30 years ago, current MPs in place would not have had the role they're in now. So unless ur suggesting stripping the titles of dead people or people in their 90s, your response to this would end in vain.

In 1980, my father was given a tainted blood transfusion at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas during heart bypass surgery. He immediately turned yellow in intensive care and suffered for decades until his death. Houston Methodist Hospital admitted error, but refused all accountability. He was abandoned without treatment and left on his own to suffer without care. Will the UK hold US accountable for tainted blood?
