    The news reports I had seen didn’t mention how the session began, so I was completely unprepared for the judge’s extraordinary opening words and gestures, which I found simply overwhelming.

    When this inquiry was set up many felt there would be another cover up, how wrong they were; this is what happens when you put a man with a true sense of integrity and honesty in the chair...to all involved in bringing the truth - a huge well done ..

    Although I have no personal connection with the infected blood scandal, I was very keen and interested to watch this and here was the only place I found the whole statement from Sir Brian. I hope that his general attitude to leading this public enquiry with such rigor and also humility will be reflected and be echoed in general in future public enquiries on whatever other incidents and scandals.
