7,000 Mile Roadtrip in a Civic and Miata - Episode 4

- Last year we drove our Evo 9 MR and STI swapped Subaru Forester from Florida to Alaska. Now, we're going to take another road trip! We've bought a supercharged Miata and Type R swapped Honda Civic to drive from the Florida Keys to Nova Scotia. It's a round trip journey of over 7,000 miles.
We drove our turbo cars from Florida to Alaska. We took our STI drivetrain swapped Subaru Forester and Mitsubishi Evo 9 MR on a journey of over 10,000 miles. This isn't click bait, we actually did it! Or rather, you'll have to watch to find out if we actually made it all the way!

I love how "camera men" are humanized on this channel, while still keeping it cinematic.
True
[cinematographers/cameramen liked that]
yeah😂
You guys NEED to get these trips sponsored more often! Maybe twice a year? Like a summer and a winter trip every year. This series is so wholesome. 10/10 would watch again, I've already watched the first series twice over 😂
It's a bit harder for them to it in the summer because they normally film Gridlife, or so they have in the past.
Once a year would make the trip more special., and not over done. Just my opinion...
So true... Come on guys!!!!!!
@@Cryton1 2 isnt overdone i think thats a fair amount
Holy f*ck I've never gotten more than like 100 likes and that was on an Instagram post, this exposure is wild! I really hope they consider it, I dont think it'd be overdone either, considering I've watched both series more than once already 😅
Shoutout to the camera man, absolutely killing this entire series

22:33 THIS! Is how a real driver thinks in a critical situation!
Well done, man
Same thing I was thinking man. What a guy!
The civic not being stolen on this trip is the hardest thing to believe in 2019
maybe if the car was parked in downtown Toronto lol
Its Canada no one steals cars
Short Ben got an xBox achievement for that. :P
@Keith Fletcher man millenials dont know what that car is or how rare it is. They just see a station wagon.
@@sschevmale24 Hi, "millenial" here. It's a hatchback, not a station wagon.
Crown Vic crashes...not cops.
Cops show up...in a Camry.
WTF is happening? Am I having a stroke?
Role reversal day
that camry is not a cop either.. its voluntary ems/emt
Why would the Canadian police use crown vics? Would you be surprised to know that here Sweden they use Volvos?
@@alexstromberg7696 that Accident was actually in New Jersey in the US. Here the police here always drive Ford, Dodge, or Chevy sedans or SUVs. I guess its a deal with US automakers have federal and state agencies. You almost never see Japanese made car as an official police car here. Probably a undercover police car, or a volunteer paramedic's personal car with an over the top light package.
@@alexstromberg7696 Manitoba and Ontario definitely use Crown Vics and the Taurus Interceptor, other provinces not sure.
I lost my shit when he starting doing the French accent. One of the best moments from this trip. That and the “I’m a Miata owner and I’m FABULOUS” and “You don’t drive a Miata, you wear a Miata.” God I love this channel so much. Don’t stop giving us awesome content. #GearsandGasolineforlife
The music, cinematography, atmosphere, and documentation was phenomenal through this mini-series. Not a bland moment found. 👍🏼
Yes very good editing
Yea
Yes this is better than any movie I've ever seen the storytelling the good the bad the cinematography the journey meeting new people making memories and loving life this is the best content I have ever seen ever I could not describe with words but this was touching, very touching.
When cars meet national geographic. Really nice.

hell yeah lol
As a Canadian, I can confirm that is the good maple syrup. I buy it in wholesale.
Thanks! I'm going to Canada next week driving from North Carolina. I'll look for it! :)
Hey what province?

I agree! I visit Quebec quite a lot, and that's the good stuff!

"If this was a genuine type R theres no way you would see one here"

I was actually pretty impressed with your French accent... 😂

The cinematography is absolutely AMAZING! I always enjoy watching these videos when yall upload. Keep it up! I look forward to more!
Y'all have convinced me into actually loving old Hondas (when they're done right)
The need for a Type R (or a replica like Ben's) is real
Ull love the ef hatch or da integras once they have been swapped old early 90s hondas rock
And they got someone like me who grew up obsessing over GT-Rs, Lancer Evos and Supras to want an old Honda as well.
Now I want a DC2 Integra.
@28:10 "You guys want some Xans?!" oh god I died.
Where do you get your music from?? Freaking amazing!! It's like watching Top Gear, but a version where I could afford the cars and the road trip!
Pretty sure it's Epidemic Sound or somewhere similar. :)
This is probably currently my favorite series on CZcams right now.
Thank you for making such good content as always!
(PS have you guys already sold your Civc and Miata, or are they going to be for sale?)
VC Records it tells you at the end of the video if they sold the cars or not
@@markbrylo4429 yeah I just finished the video. That's cool short Ben kept the Civic!
It makes me happy he did. It’s a great little car
Its giving me alot of inspiration for my own CZcams channel
97-00 civic type r's were freakin awesome man. I wish we got them in the u.s
To, as the video says in episode 3, "Short" Ben; thank you for not stomping on your brakes and causing a pile up. Very considerate of other people. You are an excellent driver.
Covered bridges were designed so that horses could be moved across rivers without being startled by the water. They are kept around today for hertitage reasons. I visited this one, and it truly is magnificent
"How was it talking to that french girl?"
Everybody: She's Canadian, but she speaks french
YAY!!!

The amount of effort to produce this quality series! Feels like I am part of the journey. Thank you!
- So, how would you summarize your trip to Canada?
- Really cool. It's really cool.
Amazing! I love how the camera crew is incorporated with the series. 10/10. Also I’m not the biggest car guru, but these vids make me wanna become one!!!!
Being from Nova Scotia seeing this video is fucking awesome glad you guys enjoyed Nova Scotia
Same feeling, as a Dartmouth boy stuck in Calgary this made me miss home so much.
2 of my favorite things in this vid.. cars and nature. Phenomenal cinematography, editing, (and acting?).. you guys all rock! 👌
Watching this road trip series again(this time in 2024) and listening to Ben talk about his Honda Civic and how he might keep it for a few months and fix the power steering and window is hilarious with hindsight knowing what this car becomes.
How about some vintage cars on your next roadtrip??
Some old volkswagen bettle maybe? :)
But doing the roadtrip through the Canadian Rockies
70s station wagon?
That should be awesome! Beetle
9600GTMAN engine swap🤔🤔🤔🤔lol
9600GTMAN yeah haha i wasn’t really serious lol, but i have seen some really cool electric engine swap ones, but that’s unrelated
That crash though! Damn...Glad everyone is okay
When drifting in public streets goes wrong.. But yeah, good all went far from being so much worse..
Now I understand why most modern commuter cars are FWD. An equivalent Fusion wouldn't have fishtailed.
Turbonium 2K most modern cars are fwd because its cheaper to make frm manufacture but yeah i get your point
Turbonium 2K but in a different situation a fwd car could have understeered into a crash whereas a rwd would have avoided it, so you really can’t compare them
@@stefan_4508 Not to be a jerk, but are you implying someone would drift around a crashed car...?
Great series! Next time you should do $1000 car with $1000 mods. I think it could be a great addition to the road trips
They’d probably spend money on repairs or replacements parts on a $1000 budget. About 8 months ago I picked up a 1 owner 1988 Honda Accord with 68k miles on it for $1000. Ran good and looks new but needed some minor repairs, replaced a lot of gaskets and O rings, tires, a small oil leak, and I still need to repair the A/C. But it averages 26mph, all the power door locks, windows, and sunroof work and none of them leak. Not the most fun car I’ve owned but it makes me smile when I drive it still.
you : this place is breathtaking
that place : No, You are breathtaking
That reaction really tells how good of a driver he is, I would probably hit the brake as hard as I can to be honest. It's that moment of the instinctive decision making really makes the huge difference. Things coulda been much worse. Respect to him.
Tall Ben : " I am a miata owner and am fabulous !" ...my favourite line for all the three Episodes ... To more Gears and Gasoline
You dont drive a Miata, you wear a Miata! also I absolutely adore these roadtrips theyre great fun to watch :)
It was said by a dude wearing a Toyota jacket
The Miata just looks so happy all the time.
*Miata:* 😀

GOOD JOB
As a Canadian and especially from Québec, I can confirm shit road conditions and huge potholes
Would not have expected that :/
You keep voting liberal thats why
@@kyrinky its because of constant freeze/thaw. creates cracks that turn into potholes
@@bulletsRflying has nothing to do with government. has to do with the climate in the region. constant freezing and thawing creates potholes. roads are constantly getting filled and repaved. if anything the conservative parties federally and provincially cut infrastructure funding when they are in power not the liberals. nice try though.

GuthanNight Tech News and Reviews Google translate could’ve helped. It’s not perfect by any means, but it helps. I speak Russian with my girlfriend who’s a native speaker. Sometimes I’ll read bits of Russian I cannot understand. Grasping certain words, suffixes, tenses, and grammar is super difficult in Russian. Translate can’t help there, obviously - but it can help with simple phrases or translating text.
Loved this series. Thanks for taking us with you. Looking forward to whatever amazing scapes you show us next.
