For people who doesn't understand how a game works, what makes this demo amazing is the fact that all this hyper realistic scenes are made in the game engine and is being rendered in real time, it's a game, that is super hard for computers to do. A movie can be way more realistic than this demo but it's not playable because it's not rendered in real time, they spent months rendering those realistic movies, here you are seeing and playing it instantaneously.
To add to some of the explanation about why this is really cool- it's all live. It's not just that it's computer-generated (exciting anyways), but that it's not something that is non-interactable. It's being run in real-time and is playable as you're watching it. *That's* the cool tech. Sometimes the Nanite examples go over ppl's heads but the cool thing about the tech is it allows a lot more detail, for a fraction of the power. From a distance, the 'nanites' change shape (shrink). Previously, they remained the same size, and had to be stored in memory, taking up the same space. Now you can do a lot more, with a lot less. It's exciting.
Nanite doesn`t work so well with the physic system right now, the deformed cars have "baked" physics on some parts which interact during a collision. It`s cool though. Such high poly-counts allow for assets imported directly into the final product probably. No Normal Maps or LODs. No time wasted making high detail assets into game "versions". Even more seamless transitions from gameplay to cutscenes as well.
Meaning gow will be fire since u can go into cutscene n go back into live gameplay easily or even cutscenes will be interactive in the future maybe in unreal engine 6
why everyone freaking about this looks just a modern game to me ive seen gta 5 realistic modes that were breathtaking in comparison i guess.....might be console guys that freaking out everywhere in comments
