Hector, I actually took and received my certificate for Coursera. I then scheduled and took the Intuit Professional test. The two options were desktop and QBO. I took the online test (mistake), but all my experience was on desktop platforms. The test was almost exclusively about setups, roles, etc. There were almost no actual bookkeeping questions. Needless to say, I was like a deer in the headlights. I ended up with a 670 (fail) out of the 700 required to pass. I was actually pleased that for a platform I had NO previous knowledge of, I scored just under a passing grade. I had paid for a retest and got the new voucher number for the retest. I will be retaking the QBO, but not until I have watched every one of your videos! Thank you for putting them on here!

Hi Doc. I finished my Intuit course with Coursera as well and signed into Pearson Vue. There were two options. 1.) INT-100: Intuit QuickBooks Online Certified User
and 2.) INT-200: Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional. Just out of curiosity, which exam did you actually take? I'm assuming it was number one since you spoke about the test being exclusively about setups and roles. I want to make sure that I spend the money on the right one. I appreciate any help.🙂

Wonderful Hector. I took the QB Certification course and completed Week 1. I'm also taking the aipb course which is very difficult. The aipb texts I've found out need a prerequisite of a one year accounting course (the aipb video tells you) and experience as a bookkeeper, I have a little experience with QB (self taught) but that's it. I didn't realize the material was too advanced for my knowledge and training. In any event, I recently passed the aipb Adjusting Entries and am studying Depreciation. Fascinating material. VERY difficult texts though.

Hi. I just found you and found this very helpful, but I have a few questions and hope you can get back to this eventually.
Firstly, great content, but there are a few updates now. You can take the exam for free now but there is a 2 attempt limit and then a 6 MONTH wait if failed both times. I should start off saying I have zero experience with any of this. Brand new beginner.
I took the free course on Intuit Academy and found it to be less than helpful (it's actually pretty broken and I don't really have anything nice to say about it right now). However, I also went back to the course in Coursera and it's the same thing but less broken. Anyway, after going back through the course in Coursera, it prompted to go take the exam. I may be upset right now and thinking about it too hard, but Coursera tells people to take the exam after the first module "Bookkeeping Basics". Naturally, I failed it.
I guess my questions would be about additional training info for this Intuit course/exam. Do you have any ideas about this? I am desperately trying to find some info on this but hardly anyone is talking about it. Even the Intuit Academy is only really pushing the Tax Pro cert. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Hector, thank you for this video! It was very in-depth and really educated me on this new path I am taking to become a bookkeeper. I have a few questions. With obtaining this certification as an intuit certified bookkeeping professional, is this a certification that needs to be renewed yearly? If so, how do you go about renewing this certification? I know that the pro-advisor certifications are renewed yearly but when it comes to this certification does it have to be renewed yearly or is it a good practice to do so or is this a do it once and done certification?

@@HectorGarciaCPA Hi Hector, thanks for all the great info. I just scheduled my first exam through AIPB and yes they do require re-cert every 3 years. They require 60 CPECs every 3 years and the cost is $3 per credit. Did not know that Intuit had a Cert Bookkeeping Prof cert either! I will check that out too. Thank you!

So I have a question do you think if I learn bookeeping and take and pass certification examination will my potential to find entry level bookeeping work online be good?
    Thank you for your time.
