Those were some good times, Prince, J.J. Hardy, Corey Hart, Braun, they all were called up around the same time and had some pretty good teams.

Glad you tried something creative and love the collab with Sadman! The choose your own adventure thing didn’t work for me though. Especially since on mobile, you can’t skip easily using time stamps like you can on desktop, you have to drag the slider which is kind of annoying.

I feel like it would be more smooth if each path got its own video which played through without interruption and with no need to skip around, but all in all, it was a really cool way to review the career of one of the legends who piqued my interest in the game when I was growing up. I've always loved just how alike Prince Fielder's career was to his father's. They both had 50-home run seasons, they both won the Home Run Derby, they were both plus-sized power hitters, they retired with the exact same amount of homers, and they even both played for Detroit at some point during their careers.
Prince was my favorite player as a kid. As a big kid, he gave me inspiration in sports.

Look, i get that you were trying to tell a story in a different way and i respect it. However, it was incredibly annoying to get engaged in the story only to have an abrupt pause every few minutes

This is really really sad!! I actually knew his dad and have met him when i was a kid. We lived next to tigers stadium. My pops worked there. I teared up when he retired!!!
I think that's by far the most heartbreaking retirement speech I've ever seen. You can tell that his entire life baseball was always an important part and now for the first time he has to confront a world without it. He didn't just look sad in that speech, he looked afraid. I hope he's found peace in his life and wish him the best. I was a fan of his dad as a kid and an even bigger fan of him. If he could've had a few more healthy seasons and/or a WS ring or two i think he'd be looked at as a guy who would've been getting in the HoF in a few years (even with a couple more seasons/rings I don't think he would've been first ballot material but likely one of those guys who gets in after several years on the list).

Wow, didn't know what his dad did. Was a fan of Cecil as a young kid, loved watching him crush the ball. Really loved watching Prince grow in the MLB and would be chasing a HOF nomination it it wasn't for injuries but we all know that
My dad's very first blue jays game in Toronto, Cecil fielder hit a home run for the visitors. Roughly 20 years later at my first jays game in TO, I watched his son do the same. Life is strangely beautiful like that.

The Prince was one of my absolute favorite players when I was a middle schooler just getting into baseball. He never played for a team in my state, or any team I particularly liked or watched. But he was the definition of a fun player to watch. When I think of my first introduction to baseball as a kid, I think of Prince Fielder and a handful of his contemporaries. Prince, if you're reading this... you're way cooler than your dad.
When I was a little kid prince was my favorite player. I doesn’t know anything about this. My family is a tigers fan. Now I’m a astros fan because I followed verlander and not my favorite player is Jose. This is so sad that I found this out at the age of 12 that my first favorite player career was ended by injury😢
The Cecil Fielder face morph was terrifying. I cried a little bit during Prince's retirement announcement and when hearing about what he said about his dad. I got angry when you showed Prince homering off the Cubs at Wrigley. I've watched most, maybe all of your videos. This is your magnum opus. I'm glad I could save it for the end.

I knew Prince in the minors. He was not only a tremendous hitter, he was a born leader and a very tough guy. Prince arrived at AAA at the age of 20 and was almost immediately the clubhouse leader. He worked every day, didn't screw around and worked on all aspects of his game. He WORKED at being able to hit to all fields. Prince was also incredibly tough. We played the Cardinals AAA team (Memphis) and they threw at Prince. Prince started jawing at their dugout and walking toward their entire team and not a single Memphis player would leave the dugout. One thing to remember, every player Prince collided with, whether it was an opposing player at home plate or his own teammate, that person was out of the game and missed at least one more game. Had the injury not cut his career short, he would have been a Hall of Famer.

I as a fan of Prince. He and I are about the same age, about the same body build, and played the same position (but I was a local fun league team talent while he was major league talent). I enjoyed watching him and to me he was like the patron saint of big guys playing baseball very well. Although it was a sad how his career ended, I cherish the great years he had and thankful I was able to watch them.

I'm a Cubs fan but he was still one of my favorite players. In 2011 I caught a batting practice HR ball hit by him in Cincinnati. A year later in 2012 I able to randomly meet him outside Wrigley. Pretty sad hearing how an injury forced him to retire. He was probably on his way to the hall of fame.
I am 25, last year I had spinal fusion. I was in a motorcycle accident. I was playing baseball all my damn life. Believe me a year post surgery I am still in so much pain. I am hopeful that one day I’ll be back on that diamond.

I'm a Tigers fan, and I saw Cecil Fielder hit his 50th and 51st home runs in 1990. That was a great day. Nobody had hit 50 home runs since the 1970's. I was rooting for Prince in 2012 and 2013, and he did a great job. It was indeed kind of sad that Prince did not perform well in the 2012 World Series. As it was, a lot of other things went wrong for the Tigers in that World Series. The funniest part about it is when Prince stole a nacho from a Tigers fan.

Great video bro. Been a Ranger’s fan since birth and having Prince on our team was so much fun. All the games I went to just radiated fun by the team. Always playing jokes on each other etc. Prince just gave a big brother vibe to the other guys.
I was never much of a baseball guy and i was raised as a pittsburgh fan but watching that interview is hard. That is a grown man crying because he is being forcibly ripped from the one thing he loves and can always count on. It is the only thing he knows and has been there from day one. There are few things in life that can bring that much pain to a person.
I watched him in 2005 when he played for the 2005 Nashville Sounds! Since Nashville doesn’t have any closer baseball teams, I was lucky enough to see Gary Pettis, Corey Hart, Prince Fielder, Pat Borders, and Rickie Weeks play

I watched his press conference when he told us why he couldn't play anymore. Really emotional for him and us because he loved the game and played it how it should be played. We miss you Prince. Much love and respect
I went to a rehab when I was like 16 and I remember prince fielders cousin was one of the guys who worked there. He looked just like prince it was crazy honestly thought it was prince at the first time I saw him haha
I went to the opening home stand of the 2006 season in Milwaukee. Prince was really struggling and I liked Lyle Overbay. I kept saying he needs to go back to the minors. I’ve never been more happy to be wrong. Prince is an icon of Milwaukee baseball and I am glad I got to see him play.
Prince will always be my favorite player. I remember when I was a kid I would play mlb 2k on my Xbox. 2k12 playing as the brewers with prince and Braun or later 2k games with miggy on the tigers I just loved everything about the guy. It’s so sad to see his career taken from him. I wish him all the best in life and I’m hoping to see some “Fielders” in the mlb soon

As a Cardinals fan I saw a lot of Prince. Even though I did not like the Brewers I respected the hell out of him. Not to mention I saw him win the HR Derby in St.Louis in 2009 and it was a great show.

I remember watching Prince for the Tigers from 2012-2014. He was a monster, I loved him to pieces, he mashed us to a world series. His Texas Days made me sad and when he retired, I was crushed. The only other day that hurt me as much as that day was Fernandez' crash, that day crushed me as well.

Prince fielder was one of my childhood hero’s as a young brewers fan. I remember on my 9th birthday he hit a walkoff bomb back in ‘08 when the brewers willed themselves in the final week into the playoffs to end a decades long playoff drought. That moment was so special to me I remember going to bed so happy
You can tell he loves baseball. I hope he can become a hitting coach or find some role on the field. He truly loves the game

Nope, another old fart here. I remember Cecil coming back from baseball exile in Japan to crush 51 HRs for the Tigers, just seemingly out of nowhere. He signified the end of the 80s dead ball era, putting on a short preview of what would happen later on in that decade.
Watching a man having to concede to injury like Prince Fielder had to is gut-wrenching.
It must be utter hell to have an idea of what you can do in your mind, and yet you body simply cannot do it anymore.
As much as I hate it having to watch it, it's easier to watch someone slowly decline and then simply decide "Yeah, I may as well retire now because I just can't do it anymore" than to watch someone essentially being forced to quit due to a chronic condition or severe (enough) injury like this.
The Prince was one of the great hitters to ever hold court in a batters box. Stats wont show that, but reviewing his games with Milwaukee will show you that he was a horse with a bat in his hands.
Prince Fielder is one of the main reasons why I started watching baseball and the Brewers. I went to the game when he hit #50 in 2007 and seeing how his career ended so suddenly made me very sad because I watched him as a young player.

The thing that stuck out the most to me watching Prince Fielder play was his freakish athleticism. Nobody that weighs as much as him should be able to run as fast as he did. So sad to see him undone by his own body failing him like that. Even with the short career, he's HOF material in my book.

For some reason this news never really made it out of Detroit, but the reason Detroit traded Prince was Tigers prospect at the time Avicil Garcia slept with Princes Wife, and got into a fight with Prince in the club house (that injured Cabrera defending Prince) and the Tigers immediately traded Garcia. Unfortunately, Prince was never the same in Detroit with that incident hanging over his head and they traded him for kinsler. You can look this story up, though I do not know why it never blew up tbh
Being a Texas Rangers fan is painful, but not as painful as what Prince had to endure. God, I miss him. Hope he’s doing well
I couldn't believe it when he signed with the Tigers.. I had zero expectation that they'd land him. Even though it didn't end with a world series, he still came in crushed it. It's unfortunate he went through personal drama during the playoffs and wasn't able to play on his usual level, but it was still a treat to watch him bat behind Miggy, and I'll look back on those seasons fondly. Wish him the best.

He played against my high school of Cocoa Beach when he was going Florida Air Academy (then Eau Gallie his senior year after I graduate. It was obvious back in 2000 he would be in the MLB.

This video made me cry, I remember being a sophomore in high school on my varsity team when he retired, I distinctly remember crying when I saw the video of him announcing his retirement. It was guys like him and Pablo Sandoval that I had looked up to because I had never been the tallest or fastest, and I always had a bit of heft to me, but I always wanted to got out and give it my all whether as a fielder or a hitter. I always looked up to Prince. To this day I still want to get a Prince field Rangers jersey even though I am a Giants fan.
