    I have bought most of my equipment from Walmart. Dumbbells, several racks, bar bells, adjustable weights, kettlebells and bumper weights. I have also bought some stuff at Dicks as well. I still hit the gym but enjoy working out n da yard as well! Walmart is alright.

  • @rishichauhan86

    Spot on man. I have a small basic home gym. Had almost that exact barbell stand for years. A friend gave me some dumbells, a bar and plates. I bought a chin up bar and recent a kettlebell. The kettle bell is great for home work outs on lighter days imo.
    Only other thing I'm thinking is either an ab roller, the push up handles or a dip station. Hard to know which to get first..

    • @Fax704

    • @rishichauhan86

      @@Fax704 thanks, great advice. I've started looking into these and you're right. Dips, as well as knee tucks and leg raises, plus reverse push ups to help with pull up developments are all things I definitely need to do.

    • @Freebandz757
      @Freebandz757 Před rokem +2

    • @rishichauhan86
      @rishichauhan86 Před rokem +3

      @@Freebandz757 thanks so much, that's very good advice. I hate the idea of buying stuff that I won't use often, spent too many previous years doing that! I have my eyes on a dip station which has push up handles built into it. Will cost a lot, but it'll be worth it

    • @allwillberevealed777
      @allwillberevealed777 Před rokem +3

      Just get a pull up power tower, with dip bars.
      Hell, you can even use resistance bands in combination with the pull up tower.
      Edit: Look online through apps like Letgo. There are plenty of quitters who sale workout equipment for even half the price they bought it for.

  • @guardiangarasu
    @guardiangarasu Před rokem +10

    If you want to do kettlebells, best thing to do is build a T-handle kettlebell with weights and pipes. I did that, spent $100 on the same amount of weight that would have cost over $1000 in a kettlebell set

  • @josephborja1452
    @josephborja1452 Před 15 dny +1

    Depends on your budget. Those Bowflex will range anywhere from $400-$600 for a pair. You can get a pair of twist lock cast iron Adjustable dumbbells that have the same weight for under $200 you can also load up more weight overtime. But it is more annoying to remove and insert a weight plate every single time whenever you want to change weight

  • @pujo28
    @pujo28 Před 13 dny +1

    Def get resistance bands. Like $25 for a full set. Extremely useful n hits your muscles diff. Truck is with bands, use high reps around 20 per set and hold the peak contraction for a full second.

    Bow flex are really fragile and not that great, usually they sell dumbbells about $2 a pound and to get a set of 5-50 could be around 550 (5+10+15+…*2) while bowflex (from internet) go for 500-650, barbells with plates I think are the way to go, a bar goes for $30-$40, and plates vary but you can use a variety of plates to get different weights, just my opinion though

    Get a good barbell and bumper plates and power rack or squat rack if you’re tied up for space and focus on the big five squat, bench, overhead press, barbell row and deadlift and slowly improve those and all you need is 3 well maybe a bench but 4 pieces of equipment and to save costs but plates used steel and not bumper buy a budget rack that can support atleast 800 lbs but don’t skimp on a good bar

    The kettle bells I can sort of agree with you, but any benches, I would stay far away from. Spend a few extra dollars and buy a better bench. Weight capacity and durability of those bench are super low. And when mechanical failure happens on a bench, it is not funny. Just don’t want anyone to get hurt on some bad equipment.
