I tried the chin tuck and the shoulder blade squeeze two days ago. I did them ever hour even through the night. I am happy to report that I am human again. It’s still sore but I know I’m gettin* better. Thank you.

Docs thank you so much for showing me these do at home stretches. I have been suffering with a pinched nerve or possible whip lash for about a month now. Had the X-rays taken and my Orthopedic Doc did not find anything. I have tried all kinds of stretches with no success of relieving the pain until now. My question would be - Would you recommend that I keep wearing a collar in the mean time or should I ditch it? I have read that it could take up to 12 weeks for the muscle to heal completely. I guess you could say that I have lived a month of hell with this pain until now. Things seem to start getting better and the neck muscle seems to be ready for stretch therapy. Once again thank you and keep up the good work!

I am currently dealing with this. (8 months now) I had really bad nerve pain in my arms and hands. Physical therapy and chiropractor has helped immensely but gets expensive after a while, but now I am on my own doing my own physical therapy, so your channel has helped me quite a bit. I have managed to relieve most of the nerve pain but still can't shake the weakness in my hands yet, feels like putting your hands in molasses and squeezing. Mornings are a bit rough because the nerves tighten up when not in use. I use a yoga wheel between the shoulder blades and foam pad, and your exercises. Thank you.

Starts in shoulder. I do some of these and they hurt, hard to know how far to do though ... I don't want to stretch too little but not to the point of pain. Hurt a lot today, wasn't careful and lifted stuff. Last night awake for over an hour bc of pain. Feels like burning. It was so bad I had to take Tylenol pm to sleep and got dependent on It so that when I went off it for 2days I got a terrible headache which made me nauseous and fainty.

I had a shocking episode of a pinched nerve , so painful and debilitating that I thought I was having a heart attack . I had trouble breathing at the time . Took meds and managed to go to sleep but I thought I wouldn’t wake up !! Seriously I thought - this is it , this is the end . Well , I did wake up - went to emergency the next morning In an ambulance. Long story short - after tests weeks later - mri - it was severe stenosis in my neck . I’d been trialling different Matresses’s and got terrible headaches with each change of mattress prior to this happening . Then the straw broken the camels back & I was in a BAD way . Suddenly , after the flare up , it settled down over night 2 days later . Then flared up again . It hurt to lean forward in the slightest and it affected my breathing , my throat ached . I’m a singer , all that came to a halt . Anyway , I sought some physio help at the Keiser gym and did an exercise much like the first one in this video but using weights and pulling the shoulder blades back running my arms at a right angle along my sides, as if holding a tray and then pulling back . Plus I began floor Pilates that included gentle neck stretches - head to the side , chin to chest .
And I did the exercise pulling the head and chin back , like in this video advised from a physio . Plus I finally found that the thin cushion from my lounge was better to use as a pillow . Then my mum bought me a pillow that has been fantastic . I swear , a pillow can make it break the recovery!! It’s an Ecosa pillow . I highly recommend them . Finally the symptoms settled , 😅 now I try to be aware of my neck & head posture . Especially when using my phone . Don’t drop your chin and look down at your screen for ages . Ideally get a stand and have the screen at eye level . Or just limit your time . But while it’s flared up , definitely don’t do screen time in the wrong posture !! Love your videos Bob & Brad ! Thank you ~ you always make me laugh and have great advice .😆😊

@@Rgb-z I’m sorry I never saw your question ! I actually am not sure what else is on CZcams . The Pilates was just gently floor Pilates . The Keiser gym has specific equipment. But I don’t know what’s on CZcams . I’m sorry . Just reading this again it reminds me how bad it was - but I have really recovered , I just have to be careful . The pillow - ecosa - made a huge difference .

Oh Bob & Brad! I have too many problems to list and pain, well just about everywhere. My neck and shoulders have been terrible the last few days, I’ve even worn a collar to hold my head up. ( Don’t worry, I know not to use it all the time!) So sitting here with collar as neck was killing me. A real 9/10. I did everything bar the roller and hanging...and feel much better! Pain down to 5/10. Which feels pretty good! Thanks, I will continue with these exercises and hopefully it will settle further. Thanks from the Brit in northern Portugal 🇵🇹!

Hello Bob & Brad. Thank you for all your honest help. I have a problem to share if you can help.
My father who is Masha'Allah, 75+ years old. He is an artist, so because of his posture he has a pinch nerve, because of that he has weakness in both arms and shoulder blades. The weakness or the pain is so much that his right hand swells at times.
    1. He is doing chin tuck exercise.
    2. He improved his posture (we changed the pillow and diet as well, he is doing exercises)
    3. We on and off see a chiropractor.
What do you think how much time does it take for the swelling to go away?
He can't do the towel exercise because of excessive weakness in both arms and the shoulders.
We have seen tons of videos, tried and trying exercises for the longest of times but the swelling won't go.
PS: Your input here would mean a lot :)
    From, a caring son.
Much love from my dad and much love from Pakistan :)
    God bless you both.

When your on the laptop for a while it's best to have your arms going straight down and your hand will be going towards the keyboard at 90°. My table has been higher than my chair so my arms are at like a 70 degree going up towards the elevated table and I spread my arms out to either side. This and a few other factors like my heavy school bag has lead to nerve damage in my shoulders and stiffness. Wish I had known how bad it would be for my body before. Now I make sure to always even out the weight of my bag and have both straps on my shoulder properly. My laptop position is also way better. Got a higher chair and put my display on a stack of books to match the extra height

Dr Batmanghelidj in his book, “Your body’s many cries for water”, tells how dehydration causes pinched nerves.
I had been suffering chronic shoulder/back pain for numerous years, and in 2009 the pain extended to my left upper arm, and a caused my left thumb to go numb.
The arm pain would sometimes wake me up at night, and my thumb normally had the pins and needles sensation.
After about 6 weeks of that, the day I was going to make a chiropractor appointment, I received an email from a friend, with an excerpt from Dr. B’s book, and strangely that little clip described my exact symptoms.
I didn’t make the chiropractor appointment, and instead embarked on my scientific journey of drinking water as medicine.
4 to 6 weeks later, by drinking water, thanks to Dr.Batmanghelidj, not only did my newly numb thumb and arm pain disappear, my years long chronic shoulder knot/pain disappeared.
Yet, Wikipedia references mainstream doctors who call him a quack rather than believe water has any role in health.
    So ridiculous.
Don’t listen to so called experts, if they think something is more important than water(except air and Love)do your own experiment.

How much water should you be drinking?

    • @princegalaxywalker6273
      @princegalaxywalker6273 Před 4 lety +2

      Brenda Barry.
First let me say I store my tap water, no filters, in open jugs to allow chlorine to evaporate, so it tastes much better, and I drink it at room temperature.
I have 1 litre of water in the morning before I have my daily morning coffee.
I’m no doctor, but My personal experience is a minimum of 3 litres a day in the winter.
In the summer, depending on the heat and my activity level, I estimate I drink between 4 and 8 litres per day.
I tell people If you are having a meal and haven’t had one litre of water since your last meal, then your are not drinking enough.
It takes water to make digestive fluids, so problems with digestion are often due to dehydration, and the same goes for elimination.
      💕

I just discovered you guys and feel like thanks are in order as I have a pinched nerve in the neck. Just watching this video I managed to alleviate some of the discomfort. I now know that the chair I have been using is not going to work for me. I went to a garden chair which would allow me to support my neck and head but does cause me to sit with a curved back. So, I have a question. I do have one of the Swedish style knee chairs here and have used it often in the past. At what level should I set my computer monitor so I can continue to watch your videos?

Can you do a video on chronic headaches? I get headaches every single day. I'm even on the monthly shot, Aimovig and am still getting severe headaches. My ophthalmologist says it is not my vision causing it. I try not to take meds to alleviate the pain, because of rebound headaches. Could you do a video on what could help?
