With this pinched nerve, neck pain, arm pain shoulder blade and now my chest muscle it’s so hard to avoid being depressed about it. My anxiety has been through the roof as all the symptoms make me feel hopeless… I’m getting ready to try all the stretches and exercises now. 🙏🏼
I’ve been going through the same issues this week, kicking off with a large panic attack. Hoping you find comfort and healing during this time
@@xoriddles it’s horrible right? Bad enough you’re feeling pain then you have to deal with anxiety and panic attacks. I hope you too find relief with both issues.
I to have the same problem, pain for me is in my tricep area when it's not there In my back and side almost under armpit. Even around to chest. Same anxiety. Can't seem to get an answer out of anyone. Been going on 4 weeks. Only thing that helps my pain is chin tuck while on my hands and knees then arch back like a cat
@@angel.heart007 have you gotten any relief yet?
@@AcpEngineering oh no. It’s terrible! I’ve been going to PT and my Dr. And PT gives me exercises that hurt so bad I can’t do them. Then my Dr says my anxiety is making the pain worse! Like what! So she’s forcing me on Cymbalta. And yes the pain is horrible around my chest area too and armpit is so painful. I’m on steroids for 5 days to see if there’s inflammation. Hasn’t helped so far :(
Holy moly, I just did a thing that made my pain go from 12 to 0. I’ve been hardly able to walk all week because of stenosis, degeneration C7 pinched nerve that was radiating to my scapula. I grabbed my scarf, put it around my neck and laid down on a hard floor. With my head resting against the floor, I pulled back, causing traction. There was an audible pop and I could feel the vertebra move and I jumped up, pain-free. It was miraculous!! I’ve been watching videos and stretching nonstop and maybe that helped loosen me up, but darn!-that one single action made all the difference. Feel better, everyone.

Good luck everyone. Just bookmarking these because I can only see my PT once a week now and I'm getting a head start on trying to progressing on the pinched neve in my neck.
Having had a slipped disc in my lower back and it taking 6+ months to get better and the sciatica go away, this is pretty anxiety inducing to me as it's more debilitating overall. As someone who is young, and in good shape, it's pretty depressing and there will be lots of ups and downs but it will get better.
I have herniated disc on lower back as well.. how are you doing now after 6 months have you been decompressing bracing etc?
I was diagnosed cervical stenosis, and decent arthritis in my neck. My pcp says I don't have the usual symptoms, my neurologist says I have symptoms that aren't attributed to the stenosis, I've been to PT on 3 different occasions, chiropractor, injections, massage. I'm 24, I've been active for the majority for the majority of my life but nothing I do helps, I'm so tired of not being able to live the way I want to. I don't really know why I'm writing this, I guess to be heard by someone in a similar situation. I just need some hope that I can return to a healthy life
@@AscendDarkness I’m praying for you. It can be nerve racking being young and starting to get better with this. I have neck arthritis and started 3 years ago-I’m 44 now-still young and bulging discs and more. Just seen so young for all this happening to me. I wish and pray the best over you too! Don’t give up🙏🏾♥️
An update: It took about 3 weeks to get better. I was prescribed gabapentin so I could sleep (be careful you will have withdrawals with this when you get off of it), and muscle relaxers. Mostly recovered after 8 weeks. I get occasional tingling down my arm still, but I suspect that will randomly go away some day. It's not a big deal at all at this point. Praise science and the doctors that are here to help us. Physical therapy and time was the biggest help.
😂
I have had a pinched nerve all day due to bad posture. (This is a warning to those without pinched nerves!!!!) It hurts like heck. Straightening your body is a much easier choice rather than having an extremely painful pinch in your neck! Listen to these guys. Their exercises help with my pain.
Early January this year I had cervical radiculopathy all the way down my left shoulder and arm, complete numbness on my index and middle finger. An MRI a few days later confirmed a ruptured disc and C7 severe nerve root compression. It was only 2 weeks later I tested my left tricep strength, and I assessed it to be over 85% weaker before onset of symptoms. I couldn't straight my arm against gravity or do a single pushup so that had me worried. I started PT with chintucks, neck and upper back flexibility exercises and tricep strengthening every day. At 4 weeks I saw a neuro who recommended surgery as my arm was still very weak..but in the end decided to continue non surgical route as I felt while slow, I was still improving. Now at 9 weeks and tricep strength almost back to where I was (15% or so weaker) and now doing 10 dips / 15 Close grip/diamond pushups, where I don't really notice the weakness anymore. Pain and numbness completely gone. I know I my experience will not be like others but hopefully might help those weighing up surgery or not. If your symptoms are improving after 4-6 weeks and are disciplined to doing PT definitely recommend not opting for surgery. I feel the chin tucks, wall angels, and a few days anti inflammatories when I had stiff neck episodes really helped, as well as warm/hot baths. Nerve pain really sucks, and I was bedridden for quite a few days. Talking it through with someone can really help, and keeping at it and being patient knowing at these things tend to get better over time.
I never imagined Ferris and Cameron would give me such great advice 35 years later...

Have had upper shoulder back pain for several weeks. Where did it come from? BUT started your neck pain exercises SEVERAL TIMES A DAY && at nighttime, too! The relief is AWESOME. THANKS TONS, 👍🏻👏😉
Mine came from looking at a computer
I am so glad for this video. I've been diagnosed with pinched neck nerves. It even gave me vertigo. Crazy stuff.
The detail about how you check patients to see if the pinched nerve is in the neck was super helpful. Knowing that it can be worked and freed up if that’s the issue.
Absolutely unbelievable!!
Last night I could only lay on my side
Within 5 reps my pain was virtually gone
Great demostration. I hv this exercise 2 days ago from our physioterapist. It works well. Over here patients having neck pain or pinched nerve problem, we received a free stretchable band, thus we can do this excercise at home, as you shown on this video. Good job , BIG THANKS. 👍👍👍❤
You guys have helped me with my first experience with a pinched nerve on my upper back! Thanks!
Thank you for this updated video. The work you do is incredibly important. Went to hospital this week with what I thought was cardiac pain in my left upper arm, severe gripping pain all the way down to wrist on and off, yep it was an old pinched nerve flaring up. So I'm working on that for a few days with your video, ahead of my monthly therapist appointment. Cheers 🌞👋
Thank you so much for your excellent videos!!! Over a year ago I developed numbness and pain shooting down my arms to my hands, no doubt due to years (I'm 67) of poor posture - round shoulders and head forward position. I was carrying heavy pails of water when my symptoms began, but then I found they recurred while using my cell phone, typing at the computer, practicing piano - anything involving my arms in front of me or looking down. I couldn't drive without my hands going numb! Soon the numbness and tingling wouldn't go away in my fingers. I was worried, but due to Covid, I hesitated going into a doctor's or PT office. Your posture advice and exercises probably saved me from neck surgery! (A friend with similar symptoms had cervical surgery, with no trial of PT.) Symptoms gradually improved over months, but by one year, I was pain free and had no more numbness. I still have to remind myself to improve my posture at times, but I am able to do all the things I want without pain and numbness. Your sound advice is greatly appreciated!
Thank you, the wall angles have really helped. I've had a C6 impinged nerve since last year and recovering well, although the recent lockdowns and working from home haven't helped. Your videos are great!
Bob and Brad, the 2 most famous physical therapists on the internet! Thank you guys!
I love u guys. There's a great improvement I must say. The numbness, tingling sensation on my right hand have stopped. However, I occasionally feel pain in the neck and upper back. I know it's a gradual process and as I continue with the exercise am optimistic that the pain will disappear. Thanx so much!
I think my impingement started in the neck, but the resulting muscle spasms have tightened my traps which is now a second area of impingement. That's my theory at present. So I'm using a ball against the wall to massage my traps (to release the nerve there) in addition to using the advice in this video (to release the nerve from the vertebrae area). Just thought I'd mention that in case it's useful to others.
Thank you Bob and Brad for another great video! And I love that you mentioned Stuart McGill. His book "Back Mechanic" has done wonders improving my lower back and thus my life.
Holy Cow! I'm strugling with this pain from neck to the left arm and elbow for a 5 weeks now! This excercises helped me right away - much better now, what a relief! The one with hands under the chin, and the towel one in particular. Thank you!
Did it go away?
Ive had tinkling abt that long, slowly coming on. Went to a chiropractor. Carpel tunnel stretches, lay on the roll bend, push ups on wall. Still tinkly. Now need an MRI. Im gonna add your exercises to his & see if that reliefs the tingling. Do Bob & Brad take Cigna? Haha. Anyone near Dallas take it without a doctor’s prescription for PT? Will the chiropractor do PT like this?
Praise the Lord! It isnt a disc problem. High anxiety causing tight muscles. Plz pray for that! Thx!
Did it go away ?
I am also feeling the same 🥺 it is small problem right ? 🥺
Thank you. Got a case of the "tech neck" and it was traveling down my arm. After watching this video and a couple others of yours and doing the stretches, I'm already seeing improvement.
thank you i actually slept. and also the neck tuck thing has FINALLY taught me what good posture means from a what it feels like perspective. i now *know* what i am aiming for and where my baseline is. so yeah cheers :)
OH MY god! The exercises really work! Thanks so much Bob and Brad. I've been suffering for almost a week from arm fatigue, weakness, tingling from shoulder to fingers. I was really worried and was about to go for a check-up when I remembered that I subscribed to this channel. So I looked this up and did the exercise mentioned in this video and voila! 2 days and it's gone! Bob and Brad are awesome!

Tyvm gentlemen
I have C5 C6 degenerated for years causing constant neck pain. The tower trick has helped relieve the pain instantaneously like a miracle. I used a pillow case not towel Thank you so so much. I am so grateful !
Very effective, pain relief in minutes , thanks 🤩
Thanks guys will give it a try! Appreciative of the sound advice you been giving.
I think at the end of your video you should do a 2-3 minute wrap up of the exercises you presented in detail during the video.
I went to see a specialist today. My neck has gotten some shifted discs and other things wrong with it and also probably a compressed nerve. I can't hardly use my arms for simple things like brushing my hair. My biggest issue is that I can't find a comfortable way to sleep so I am getting little sleep. You guys have been very helpful to me on numerous occasions. I'm not sure where I would have been without you. A cure would be great, of course, but just some relief is a blessing. You guys have helped me find that relief. You keep me going day to day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ✌🏻💟🐾💆🏻♀️🇺🇸
We love you Bob n Brad!! You are such brilliant people💗💕💝
This worked for me and I’d been trying everything. I just took a hot shower and got minimal relief but the towel method helped so much. Thank you!
Thank you, it is nice to have experts discuss the proper way to address this common issue. I have saved this video to my health folder.
Thank you for your videos. They are helping me a lot.
Hello Bob and Brad, all the way from India. So many times when I am searching for exercises to relieve a symptom, you appear magically, as if on cue.
Not only is your advice good and it works, you manage to infuse cheer, too. Wish you a long life, so that you can keep help relieve more and more suffering.
Thank you SO much, these severely helped me!!! 🙏
I'm 33. Driving and phone are my sins. I also do a lot of bending, heavy lifting etc. I realise lately when I leverage force through my right arm; pain develops in and along it.
So weird how I found this video though. I DID NOT SEARCH FOR IT. The body always knows what it needs. Mind, body and spirit.
Bless you guys.
Same here, I will receive notifications for a Bob & Brad video...sure enough, it'll be helpful to something either my family or I'm experiencing. They are such a big help!
I’ve had upper arm for about 2 months. I think these exercises will help me. Many thanks!
Did it help ?
Thank-you for these very helpful tips!
Hey Bob and Brad, this video gave me incredible relief!!!! I hurt myself lifting weights over my head nearly a month ago, and THIS video saved me. I wish I could thank you in person!
And now all of my neck pain I've had all week has been massively reduced over the span of several minutes. I love you guys. Thank you.
Thank you sooooooooooooo much. Much love!!!
Love u guys. Got pinched nerve on Mon night resulting in massive pain. Just found this on Thurs. Did the wall angels and that helped the best.
You guys are fantastic, my left hip is bone on bone and I have been doing your hip exercises and took a 90 minute walk today in the hills pain free!
Thank you so much Bob and Brad 💕✨🧘🏽♀️
Thank you for all of your knowledge! I suffer from a pinched nerve in my neck from being too tall for my work vehicle. Our health dept in the Cook Islands is really limited on resources so your knowledge has helped me substantially! God bless
Bro how is your neck now?
You guys are awesome. I love your theme song and I love your advice. The towel thing really helps - thank you so much!
I cannot express how helupful this was! I'm a glass blower and musician, so getting a pinched nerve is quite the worst that could happen, but after doing these stretches several times a day just 3 days later i'm at about 90% recovered where usually i'd have to take off a week or more. Thanks again guys, youre videos are worth everything in the world to those that they help
Hi, Could you please suggest any method for recovery. I am going through same situation
@@dikshajain137 hey! Me to facing the same thing it's been a horrible experience. My nerve in chest radiating to left hand light Numbness. He'll lot of things no sleep 😞
@@jackn1006 Hi Jack. It was better for me in 2 months time. I have seen physiotherapist, chiropractor and a spine specialist. But, your case is little different so please consult a good doctor.
@@dikshajain137 I have been treated by general Dr for 20days. Now he could not figure it out so me moving to neurologist. Thank you for replying.
@@jackn1006 Hi, I think going to neurologist should be a good idea. They might suggest you to go for MRI. There are steroid injection available for worst case situation which give temporary relief for a few months. I think regular exercise suggested by physiotherapist and good sleep help the most for nerve impingement but the good thing is that its quite common and is not a serious issue. Hope you get better soon.
Need this when we avoid going to hospital for theraphy during this pandemic. Thanks B&B
You guys are soooo helpful. I’m so glad I found your site. 🙃
Thank you Sirs! What a wonderful relief...😊
Thank you. I need the exercises for my neck and arm.
you guys never cease to amaze. You helped greatly with wrist and shoulder pain.
now my neck feels much better right away. "Wall Angels"? Seem ridiculous but they really helped
Really great advice. I'm starting to feel better already.
Thanks Bond and Brad for the información!
Very helpful! I developed this pinched nerve about 3 weeks after I started doing crunches in the morning. Does it seem reasonable that crunches (not sit ups) could cause a pinched nerve?
I appreciate it so much keep up the grind love y’all man ❤❤❤
I appreciate you guys so much. You have been a real asset to my fitness program. I'm a living testimony of how much your advice works
Bob and Brad your a life line, Thank you
And God Bless you both
Thanks the chin tuck helps. I got a cervical decompression device off Amazon that works great. Its a sling that goes around the back of the head and under chin, attached to a rope pulley rachet system, fits over top of solid door and you sit on a stool and basically pulls the head upward. Not the most comfortable procedure and i can only do a couple of minutes but this really helps within a few days. Only $58. Do a few x day. Also simply putting your head upside down gives relief. 4-5kg of weight there. However you can, ive got a back extension rack to lean over.
OMG!! I LOVE you guys. Thank you SO much. The first move was God sent.
Been suffering with pain in my shoulder that’s it’s kept me up did one exercise and boom the pains gone thankyou
I have been having issues with both the arms and trying physical therapy for months. Just the chin tuck and towel exercise have worked miracles on me. Thank you so much
I love this video. You can see the friendship resonate between you two in this video
Thank you both for a very helpful badass video!
Yous guys make having these conditions fun..yous are good at what yous know but also come across good in you’re posts..well done boys..from scotland uk.
Bob and Bradley I love you guys! You’re the greatest!!
Once again you guys are worth your weight in gold. Thank you so much🙏
Thanks guys! Great show.
Thanks for this video :) I learned something new to add to my physio exercise list :)
This video is SO helpful - that you! It's working!! Question: If I can centralize the pain to the neck, is there anything I can do for temporary relief of the throbbing headaches??? Thanks
Thank you! Your videos have helped me.
I have a tendency to tuck my chin, tense/lift right shoulder and cock my head to the side when stressed, concentrating hard or whatever the case may be. (I have MS; not sure if related to spasticity or if it's just me.) A herniated cervical disc, whether it's the cause or effect of these involuntary movements- it still causes some pain and numbing so I'm very thankful for all the exercises, stretches and helpful tips in this video!!!
Giving these a try, had a cricked neck for the past week. Cheers.
It's really helpful for instant relief. I should do regularly
Wow, wow, wow! Just tried the foam roller. Snap, crackle and pop! So much relief. Doing the other stuff too, but that one was amazing.
After 14 yrs in prison My neck and back hurt so so bad. I'm glad I found these guys
Bless bob and brad. Thank you so much !!!
Love you guys! You are so cool! And helpful! Thank you for showing us what’s happening with skeleton!
The last stretch helped after a few seconds! I just used a rolled up t-shirt.
Love you guys, always helpful. love your videos, just wanted to shout out thank you,Bob and Brad.
Straightened posture and head up. "W" exercise with back against the wall. It worked for me. Thank you. I'll watch your other videos. I liked and subscribed.
Thank you so much !!
Thanks docs! You guys are awesome!
From the sounds of it I've had a pinched nerve for 15 years
Man these exercises are helping me with my pinched nerve. Dr took x-rays in March said C5 and C6 were pinched. I am still having pain in left arm/shoulder but when I work on these neck exercises it feels so much better. Thank you
Herniated lumbar disc since August (getting better!), and neck pinched nerve since February. Nerve WAS getting better, now back with a vengeance, especially in the hands, elbows and shoulders.
You guys are great! Just doing these exercises while I watched the video helped relieve my neck pain just a little bit. I watched and did the exercises you posted on tennis elbow last year. I was in so much pain, so many doctors visits and nothing helped. Once I started doing your tennis elbows exercises daily my pain is now completely gone and has not come back. I continue to do the tennis elbow exercises everyday since. I am sure these exercises will help for my neck. Thank you so much!!
Same here! 😊
Perfect timing guys. My neck has been really hurting me.

Thanks very useful information
Hey Bob and Brad, these are great for when the pinch happens and you need relief, but could you explain how to prevent it from happening again, im only 23 and my neck pinches about every 3 months, i dont know how to stop it from happening, i do a lot of exercises and stretches but nothing stops it, seems to happen most when my arms are raised or above my head. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I suffer from pinched nerves in my C7/C8 area which also affects my shoulder, upper back, arm, elbow and hand. Sometimes it's the left side. Sometimes it's the right. A couple of years ago it was causing an intense burning in my upper back. I couldn't work for a year and was forced to return to work or lose my job. Finally, after some physical therapy I was better but since then I have been having flare ups frequently. Yesterday was the worse of the past two weeks even without the burning. I found your video and got started with your exercises and am happy to say I've gotten some relief. Thanks again.
Hi, Hope you feel better now! Could you pls suggest anything for the recovery, I have pinched nerve at c6 c7
hey guys thanks for all your advice i've had an awful weekend with the pain in my right arm with the trapped nerve in my neck 16yrs ago i had nasopharyngeal cancer and had a radical neck dixection on the left hand side of my neck, i am not a particularly fit person i don't excersise very much and i also have fibromyalgia i'm just so fed up being sore it's getting me very down and depressed i would appreciated any advice xxxxx
Very helpful. Thanks 🙏🏿.
Thank you thank you thank you! Two weeks with a pinched nerve and finally some relief!!!!
My mother emailed me earlier today saying she had a pinched nerve with a lot of pain. I shared this video with her, as well as reminded her about grounding/earthing (walking barefoot on soil, grass, stone connected to earth). She got relief from one or more of the things she tried, can't pinpoint since she tried multiple methods. But the exercises didn't hinder or make the pain worse, at least.
Thanks for this one!!
Thanks, guys. I don’t have a pinched nerve, but the towel/strap is a good way to get at a kink in my neck!
Thank you so much Sirs.
thank you so much. I have so much relief
