Now, Samsung confirms its July release for the Galaxy Ring and a recent report reveals eight sizing options for the Galaxy Ring addressing diverse finger sizes. Samsung will launch the Galaxy Ring alongside the new foldable smartphones at the Unpacked event.

You could see it from another side as similar to what Apple does, by using the 'Reassuringly Expensive' pricing strategy. People want the best and quite often see a lower price as lower quality even though its not true. So despite being annoying, I think its important that Samsung price their products similarly to Apple or customers won't know the difference between a Samsung and a Huawei.
I think being able to charge ridiculous prices like Apple is the dream of every tech and most fashion companies 😂
@@_-BikerBoi69_-Xiaomi sell alot of watches.....they're affordalbe and do most things. Besides Apple watches work only with iPhones. Meanwhile Android phones have variety although I do tend to get Samsung devices to stay within the ecosystem like the Buds 2Pro I just bought which are also getting an update to work with some of the AI features.

Excited for this one. I think a ring is much better in health tracking especially during sleeping. I find it hard to sleep wearing a smart watch.

The remote control functionality probably gonna include the gestures for mobile devices. Rotating the ring will probably scroll ur social media. Tapping on it will work as capture fn for u phone camera etc

They can actually use these as controllers for vr ar , if they decide to make one in future. Will be usefull in games which need more accuracy.

I think I'll trade in my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, if possible, so I can still have all the tracking features. I really want a normal analog watch because they look so classy but I just love the features of the Galaxy Watch.

I'm ngl I suspected that the Galaxy ring since it was teased at the unpacked event was gonna have a relation with the Galaxy glasses that will most likely be released this year. That's was my huge guess but it seems everything is pointing at that direction ❤

One of the biggest hurdles with the payment devices isn't that they're not practical, they are - but the banking systems today makes then kinda useless.
At least in our country you need to physically insert your smartcard (credit card) each 10 payment use cycle of whatever device you use, whether it's your Smartphones RFID or Smartwatch, possibly also smart-ring.
Until the day arrives when this hurdle is removed, it's just another nice to have tech gadget demo.

It would be great if you could control your TV through air gestures from the ring using accelerometers. I have a samsung tv and it works through my watch. See no reason it can't work through gestures from the ring

Keen to use this for tap payments and taking public transport, which at the moment I do by pulling out my phone. I know it's a minor thing, but when you're in the daily bustling city, tapping with your hand would be easier.

And yes I heard about the AI features.....I can live without the AOD thing they have going on... must be one heck of a battery drainer. I prefer the one I have now BUT we will get the generative AI wallpaper feature which is what I really want.....and Circle to Search......
So basically everything a watch does?
The only thing that i can find really useful out of this is being able to just point to various tech to get it to activate. Like smart bulbs to turn them on or maybe a turninf motion to adjust your thermostat from a distance. If youre a teacher and using a smart board or a projector you coudl use the ring to point, highlight, and draw.
But for the average person i dont see how this ring is super useful.

After getting Oura ring, I ditched my Apple Watch. Honestly, it's such a better device for sleep tracking and general movement tracking, plus you have the added benefit of not having another display on you and you're freed up to use regular much nicer looking analog watches. This is the way to go. Samsung and Apple getting into this space was pretty expected, can't wait to see the future of smart rings!
