  • From emotional beginnings in D.C. to the emo revival, emo has seen it all. Emo’s not dead. Let's be honest, we've all been a little emo at some point. From punk rock and hardcore roots, to midwest emo, to mainstream success and rise and fall and the emo revival. From D.C to warped tour to When We Were Young. From Rites of Spring to American Football, to Blink 182, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Paramore to Modern Baseball, Title Fight, Touche Amore, Joyce Manor, Pool Kids, Oso Oso, Hot Mulligan, Origami Angel, Spanish Love Songs, and Glass Beach. Embrace the 2000s emo nostalgia and be an elder emo. (Felt emo might delete later)

Midwest Emo is modern nomenclature. At the time bands with that sound would have just been indie or "post-emo indie rock".
