The corporate world is becoming more competitive and hash by the day. The success stories are getting rare and failures are pretty common. One of my friends was fired by his company in June and for the next two months of July and August, he was literally in depression.
In September he got an interview call and he also converted it. He even started working there and was later asked by his client to apply for an H1B Visa and move to the US so he could work from there. This is how quickly the tables turn in the corporate world. You need to be ready to tackle the positive and negative situations in your career. In this video, I have discussed 3 skills you can use to tackle these negative situations and how they will impact your career.
The best part is that skills have always been at the forefront of the corporate work culture. If you are looking for the best skills to learn in 2023 for job or corporate roles then this is the video for you. The best skills to make money also happen to be the best skills you can use to avoid layoffs and stay relevant in your corporate job. In order to get a corporate job and also to keep it, you will need these in demand skills under your belt. In demand job skills can make or break your career. In order to get into high demand jobs, you need to start acquiring these in demand skills for 2023 and 2024 from now onwards.
At the end of this video, I have also shared a pyramid that you can use to access your own skill level and plan according on how to go about these best skills to learn in 2023. The first skill on the list is sales. If you think about it, what’s the most important or crucial thing for your company or employer? It is definitely the sales. And still, people don’t want to pick up these skill jobs. I recently went to IIM Kozhikode and asked the bright students there what jobs they wanted to get into. Some of them said that they wanted to get into Management Consulting others said that they wanted to get into Banking or Marketing but nobody was keen on getting a sales job.
Why do people hate sales so much? The reason is that sales are full of multiple rejections or failures on a daily basis. We don’t like these failures. But in the corporate world, we will encounter these failures one way or the other. If you are not selling, you will surely hit that glass ceiling sooner than later. Even during layoffs, companies don’t lay off their salespeople as easily as they may lay off folks in the research, HR, or Marketing.
Because laying off salespeople is directly going to impact the balance sheets of these companies. In order to get into sales, I would recommend everyone to go and start writing on LinkedIn. Nothing negative is going to happen to your career if you do that, but a lot of positive stuff will definitely come your way. Always ask questions to the clients and specifically ask for RFPs. These are handed out to salespeople to help them decide on what will be the best way to sell the given product or service.
You should also need to learn more about communication. Communication is at the core of excelling in your corporate career. Teamwork is prioritized more than individual success in the corporate world. This is the case because you are not solving rocket science problems in the corporate world. You are solving simple problems and asking questions or working collaboratively in a team can solve the same problem in a fraction of the time. Solving tech and business problems is all about communicating your thoughts effectively. Watch my video on corporate communication skills.
The third skill is Artificial Intelligence. There aren’t many fields where AI has not penetrated and isn’t having a huge impact. In any field where you have sufficient data, you can employ the use of Artificial Intelligence. Even if you are not working on AI technologies you will definitely need to brush up on your basics. Hope you find this video valuable, see you in the next one.

Bro I took 2 years of gap after working 2.5 years at MNC. I started my journey again and now it's 2.5 years been into IT and also switched two more jobs and doing well. Just keep giving interviews and note downs questions then prepare well for the next interview. Don't even have a second thought you will definitely get one job.

No please ai is not some magic or alien technology that'll replace human civilization, those are fantasy theories. It has many uses in data analysts day to day work though you might need to learn that skill for sure.

Mark Cuban - Billionaire and Shark Tank Judge was once asked a question which he rated as the best in his entire adult life.
The question was "If you had $500 and a phone and must make as much money as possible in 6 months, what would you do?"
His answer? - Use the $500 to get into sales as everything starts from there.
Great video Pavan, you've summed up the most important skills for any career in just 3 points!
