I was blessed working in fields and ending up in bottling plant between my high school graduation before my first year of College! I look back at that time with smiles!
I spent over 50 years involved in the grape industry from running vineyards, propagating millions of vines (personally), research, working in all kinds of weather on the picker, to grubbing out vines in the nursery and everything else in between. Though well into my seventies, I still look forward to pruning every winter . . . what a joy! I remember when Dr. Frank was considered a pariah and barely taken seriously by the majority of old-school growers. Not only is this a fitting tribute to him, Art Hunt, and the Taylors but it truly captures the spirit and flavor of the Finger Lakes grape industry and our area in general. Extremely well done!
