- Many songs from the Tamil Films have been ignored periodically for reasons best known to no one. Especially, never or rarely attempted in any reality shows, stage shows or competitions.
When the nation is on a Quarantine, Subhasree Thanikachalam launches this new series.
This series will feature a set of rare songs that are rarely heard, rarely performed and she will also try and give some trivia for the songs.
The songs will all be performed by young singers who came out of her shows, which mainly focussed on old songs. The sessions are unplugged and performed with minimum instrumentation. No retakes. One stretch live performance.

I loved how Srinivas and his daughter re-created the song. the slowness actually captures the beauty of the composition better. original is good for the movie, but when you sing to enjoy the rasa of the composition, this is how it can be done...Srinivas in particular was amazing!

Srini is a very good singer. Simple and no unnecessary improvisations. This song has been sung in a somewhat unplugged manner. Proves how difficult the original composition is. Well done the entire team. Subashree’s contribution in this series is a watershed event. Hats off Subhashree

Thanks. I realized it latter. I always confused Suddha saranga with kaapi and hamir kalyaani. I didn't learn carnatic but learned through cine songs. 40 - 45 years before, Cylon radio broad cast a program in the name of திரை தந்த இசை. I learned ragas through that and developed later on.
We can also enumerate a few other songs in raag suddha saranga.
