    I’m from California, just started in the trade about 2 years ago. Running into a lot of these mini split. Didn’t even know these things existed 12 years ago. Great video explaining how to find the fault code.

    Thank you so much! You just saved me $400.00 for the installer's electrician to come out and scratch his head and look at me like I'm simple minded. I put some potted boxwoods a foot in front of the fan and I'll try moving them to see if that solves the issue. I printed the codes -- which I couldn't find anywhere in the Daikin info I got after the install OR online. You're the best!

    Oh man, you're my hero. Had a flashing light on my Daikin, and its going to be about a million degrees today. The instruction manual was useless - this video saved me! Thanks Fully Airconditioned!!
    (error was U4 - easily solved by flipping off at the main switchboard for 10 secs then back on).

    Just had my Daikin A/C stop working today, between Christmas and New Year and 35 degrees outside. This video helped me find the error code, U4, [Malfunction of transmission
    between indoor and outdoor unit] Looking like some circuit board problem, I decided to do the basics, at the outside unit, I turned the isolator off for about a minute and then back on. To my delight, it is now running again. Thank you Fully A/C.

      Just a quick note, I have only been living, renting this new home for less than a year and this is the second time our A/C has stopped. The first time the landlord got someone to fix it. Before this home we owned and lived in our home for 19 years, we installed a Fujitsu A/C to this home. The Fujitsu never stopped once. I will never buy a Daikin if I had the choice.

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  Před 3 lety +2

      That’s good to hear it running again, u4 fault is one of the most common faults on a daikin, it’s a communication error between the indoor and outdoor pc board. 95% it caused by power problem, like a brown out (supply power voltage too low or too high) if you have the reset the power and now working it should be fine, if it came back with a u4 fault straight away this means that the indoor unit can’t see the outdoor unit and there is a problem with connecting cables or the pc board ( no power) 👍🏻

    Thank You, Down Under! My AC had the exact same error code as in the video, but my error was caused by snow covering the outside unit. All is reset and working great. And yes, in anticipation of any questions like why I need AC when it's snowing, the AC unit is for a computer server room and needs AC 24/7. Again, thanks!

    Hi there Craig,Thank you so much. Its boiling hot in Sydney - 35 degrees - October long weekend and I'm in west facing warehouse with huge windows. You can imagine how dreadful with a failed bedroom Daikin air-con which is now well over ten years old - implications...Anyway I am thrilled to report that following your simple instructions - had to attempt reset twice - the old boiler is back up and running (for now). Will leave it on to test. A really big thank you!! Anna

    There is a button on the front of the unit (near the lights) that turns the system on and off, but it goes in to a preset mode, not the the current setting you had on the remote, so it will cool if its hot and heat if it cold.

  • @FullyAirconditioned
    @FullyAirconditioned  Před 9 lety +1

    P4 fault is caused by a voltage reading above 4.96v or below 0.4v of the radiation fin thermistor, often a open circuited thermistor is the cause or poor contact. There is about 10 -12 thermistors on the outdoor unit, the one you should be checking is the one plugged in to S91 on the PC board and its thermistor R12T. Cross reference the temp to the measured resistance "check No 6" in the Daikin services manual, this should be carried out by a qualifier technician.
    Kind Regards

    Hi Julia,
    Dose it have power??, Check the circuit breaker is turned on (like in the video where I turn on and off the circuit breaker in the switch board) check the isolator switch is turned on (should be located near the outdoor unit, not all installation will have a isolator). Could be an internal fuse, checking this should only be done by a licensed person with the correct training as the unit contains high voltage and could cause death, leave this to your local daikin dealer/repairer.
    Kind regards

    U4 is common, this fault can be caused by incorrect wiring or low/interrupted power supply (brown out). Reset the power if the fault still comes up check the into connecting wiring, if this is ok it's could be a faulty outdoor pc board, but most of the time it's caused by a brown out.

      My error code was E7 just like the one in the video but nothing was in the fan. I turned off and then turned on the switch of outdoor unit. After that, the problem was fixed. Hope everyone watches this video can get their air con back to life.

    My indoor unit just isn't switching on. The power reaches there, fuse on the PCB seems ok. Power is also reaching the outdoor unit. The PCB looks good, no visible burnouts etc. Any suggestions on what to look for?

    Hi, I have a Daikin inverter, tried the code searcher with the remote and it double beeps with all "U" codes however never does the long beep? The green light is blinking continuously and air con/heating/fan doesn't work. If I turn it off at the mains for a length of time, it may work for a 15min and then stops working again (green light blinks). Also I have noticed the water pipe attatched at the bottom has come off, would this cause an issue? There is plenty of area for water to dissapate even without the pipe.
