    Two important facts to mention:
    1) Q2 Rim can only be used for 6 months after opening the bottle, so ideally you would want to plan ahead and coat multiple wheel sets
    2) Q2 Rim needs time to fully cure so should not be mounted directly on the car and driven right after application. Fully cured after around a week. Can be accelerated with infrared heating or a layer of Q2M Cure to protect base coat.

    Excellent video once again!
What about freshly restored/repainted wheels? Is there a good rule of thumb to let the paint cure before any additional work? Before the actual use?
Then in the case of summer, sporadically driven car, is this ceramic coating still the best choice? Or just a regular use of tire and wheel cleaner, including the WetCoat?

Yves, have you done a video on how to maintain your coating afterwards? Anything specific after each wash? Or do you simply recoat them a year later when the protection wears down?

      czcams.com/video/bCN8fAzvZ68/video.htmlsi=L3k5V8iCw5EU313Q
Recaoting can be done but all depends on the type of coating you have on your car, your maintenance routine and your mileage.
Decontamination is very important, that’s why we made this video.

I recently coated some bicolor wheels with metal/black paint styling. Unfortunately got some rainbow smears on a few black paint spots. But all of them appeared very late, I made sure residue is all buffed off but the coating probably took so long to cure that I didn’t realize some product residue still re-appeared after an hour or so.
Is there an indication for how long/often you should inspect and buff off the wheels after applying the coating?

    • @dtail9638

One really important thing to do is use enough quality microfibres. Do a final wipe down with a SUEDE microfibre. If you don’t have proper lighting, check outside. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 2 lety

All depends on what finish. I presume a clearcoated one. Then all depends on how well the flashing times and baking times are respected. This is of course more important on the bodywork of the car but the principle is the same.
To be safe wait 3 weeks after the refurbishment and you should have no issues.

    • @GYEON_official

Only when you would have very stubborn iron particles in the corners of your spokes or when you would have a lot of tar deposits on the inside of the barrel that don’t go away with chemical abrasion. If that’s not the case, just a good wash and Q²M Prep afterwards.
