Yes!! So glad you enjoyed it man! I'm going to do another one just on the jam at the end.. There's more to that that I want to get into.. Any songs you need help with let me know 🤙🤙🤙
Hey :) I have a quick question for you. I started learning bass 2 years ago, following and learning the tabs from the youtuber "Jason Bass Tabs". I know how to play some of the songs he transcribed (Have a Cigar - Pink Floyd, NIB - Black Sabbath, Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead...) but the thing is... I don't know what I am playing since I don't know any music theory. I am part of a friend music band and it's hard to follow them music-wise. What do you recommend? Are there any CZcams channels I could learn from? what should I begin with? Thank you so much :)
Hey Edgar! I feel your pain my brother! What I would recommend right off the bat is to use chord charts instead of tablature to learn songs.. so just Google Sugar Magnolia chords and use whatever one looks easiest.. Songs are made up of chord changes. Just knowing that it goes from C to D then to F can get you a long way.. and when you are getting started you can just play root notes to the rhythm of the song.. Tablature gives you way too much information at first.. And it's hard to tell where you are at or what's going on.. Really easy to get lost.. The chord charts are much simpler.. learn the basics.. then you can use tab if there is a particular part you want to learn.. also if you can.. get the chord charts and sit down with a pen and paper with your bass in your lap where you can start and stop the song.. use the chord chart and create your own cheat sheet to the song.. I go over it in I Second That Emotion. Maybe check out that video and get back to me.. Looking forward to helping you out.. Keep on Keeping on 🤟
@@Bass_Geek Thank you so much for your answer and your understanding, really! I will do what you say, and also watch the video you recommended me. I will get back to you, cheers! :)
Hey Edgar! Just checking in on you buddy.. How's it going jamming with your buddies? Are there any songs you need help with? I'm going to be making some content this weekend. Let me know! I hope all is well 🤙
Next time might I suggest not noodling and get the actual instruction out there… also, I’ll suggest not jumping back and forth while giving instructions on what you’re doing.. this video was almost 20 minutes, almost tortuous at that..
Actually it's Alder.. I bought this Bass about 2 years ago. It's a Fender American Professional ll Jazz Bass. Alder Body- Maple Neck- Rosewood Fingerboard.. I put D'Addario Chrome Flats on it and I absolutely love this Bass! The neck is superb!
Yeah dude you were really all over the place. The average player is not following along with you at all. If it’s hard to say what you’re doing while playing, use tabs on the screen so people can follow along. I understood everything for the most part but jeez it was painful.
I hear you man.. and thanks for your feedback.. I do appreciate it.. That was awhile back.. I'm planning on re doing it, focusing on being more clear and concise.. I'll let you know when I upload the revised lesson.. I'd be curious to get your feedback..
One of Randy's best bass lines. Along with Hotel California.

Sure thing! Ya I'm just getting started making videos and have a tendency to ramble.. Do you have any requests for a song I could help you with??
Ash body?🤔👍

@@Bass_GeekThanks! But wood texture that is visible is very similar to ash in my opinion.
@@constantintube4156 Apologies! I didn't realize the video we were talking about! You are correct.. my '78 P Bass.. my first Fender ❤️
