Saw your channel advertised in the Bloody Rainbow Comic-Con AE mission! What a fun video. I created a different dark/dark tank build, under a different build philosophy. I like to theme build, but I also wanted to get as many dark attack powers as I could. Since I was thinking dark/dark as an undead/magical character, I didn't take any electrical powers (i.e. mu mastery). Maybe my build is more scrapper-y? It does very well in the Bloody Rainbow on +4x8, but really I mostly PvE on teams. I try to optimize endurance recovery, accuracy, and then resistance/defense/damage -- depending on what I'm trying to do. I see you used as a hybrid [Support Core Embodiment]. I find MIDs has different numbers than what combat attributes shows in-game (I'm on Homecoming). MIDs shows +12% defense, but I find that's only for pets, and in-game only gives +6% to the player. Whereas [Support Radial Embodiment] gives +8% to the player. My build is below. What's really fun is [Soul Drain] + [Shadow Maul], and of course when there's trouble [Dark Regeneration] comes to the rescue. Character's name is Undead Jane Doe -- lore pet is [Demons Radial Superior Ally].
I've tried to parse various procs (independent of this build) from the combat window and have found the following:
Panacea: Chance for +Health/+Endurance

average hp/s = 3.506 hp/s (3.280 hits per minute)
average end/s = 0.380 end/s (2.772 hits per minute)
Performance Shifter: Chance for +Endurance
------------------------------------------
average end/s = 0.272 end/s (1.479 hits per minute)
Power Transfer: Chance for Self Heal
------------------------------------
average hp/s = 3.815 hp/s (4.5 hits per minute)
...these aren't represented in the Attribute Monitor in-game or in MIDs under Recovery and Regen.

Hi Brigg, I was wondering why there are so few purples on this build, is this a budget build or do you think this was the best way slot this character out? I guess I'm just comparing it to your rad/fire farmer that has like 8 purple sets .
Primarily because the purples are more for damage, and I was going for mainly tank durability. Purples are going to give you mainly Acc, Rech, and Fire/Cold Resistance.
@@Brigg Thank you so much for the response! I hope my question didn't sound insulting. I don't know enough about the different enhancement sets. It sounds like you went with the best options available for tanking. I wonder why they didn't make purple sets for tanks? Maybe they would be too OP to justify being purple.
@@sageollie My pleasure. Not insulting at all. I guess the AT IOs could be considered purple-like tank enhancements, but yeah, they don't really favor tanking too much. Purple enhancements that favored Res, Def, & taunt would be very interesting to see though :D
was just looking now at city of heroes rebirth. do you have anything on melle damage builds? i prefer martial arts style
Hi Brigg, I've got another question if you have time. I was wondering how you decide to upgrade your enhancements. On this build do you think +5 ing the enhancements would be useful or should I attune them? I have a really hard time deciding what to do with my builds when I finally get them built.
To be honest, I usually don't do the +5 cuz I usually forget lol but if you're trying to get the most out of it, you'll get more out of the +5
@@Brigg You should do a video explaining when to boost and when to catalyze. I boost everything, I don't understand why or when catalyzed sets would be better. I think I have 1 toon with 1 set catalyzed because its a lvl 44 power that was taken strictly for the set bonuses i could get out of it.
You seem to be head and shoulders better than other CZcamsrs on understanding game mechanics and min-maxing builds. I've learned a lot from your builds.
Looking for Dark/Dark Armor BRUTE build, but going to try using this on Homecoming.
I just started a field where it's a brute tanker but it has reach in instead of invulnerable cuz I got tired of my toggles dropping because of lack of endurance
Yeah, until you reach 50 and unlock Ageless, endurance will have to be managed

The original Brigg character I made on the Protector server WAY back when was an inv/nrg pvp build. So much stun. And then the Energy Melee nerf happened and ruined it. Haven't looked at a pvp build for it since. I'll take a look.

Hello. Is dark armor/spines tanker any good? Any build available?
a spines tank is one of those new options that I've seen pop up more frequently lately. and dark armor is pretty popular as well. I don't have a build for it. I'll have to see if Mids Reborn has updated to include spines for tanks.
is this build still viable? im getting back into the game.. and i hear they made some changes to defenses or something.., i just need to save up the cash so i can rebuy the enhancements :P
There is nothing that isn't viable depending on slotting and play-style. If you're looking to run crazy master of task forces, you may want a more meta build. But aside from that its City of Heroes not WoW, nobody is going to say a thing if you're not the most optimized min/max character.
