Monaco gets a lot of flak for its lackluster F1 races, but Formula E proved that the track was never the problem.
I was there when Helio won. not a single person was sitting down for about the final 20 laps... and for the 20 minutes after the chequered flag. It really is special to be a part of history like that. Bonus fact, every four time winner won a race in a year ending in 1. AJ Foyt: 61, Al Unser: 71, Rick Mears: 91, and Helio Castroneves: 01 and 21.
Loved it when Roger went over to victory lane and congratulated him with a hug.

Was at the 500 this year for Helio’s 4th win and it was seriously the coolest thing ever! The entire speedway exploded with excitement the entire stands where shaking like they were about to let go
3:33 The Finnish broadcast for that jump section was amazing, especially when Lappi and Ferm came around since we could hear the banter from the two as they approached the finish.
I love watching the rally cars land huge jumps so smoothly!
The fact that other series that visited Monaco all have iconic passes highlights the problem F1 has especially in terms of car design regulations.
F1 cars are simply too big to fit on the streets of Monaco now. Whereas formula E cars are still quite small and nimble so they work.well at the circuit
@@shelbykingnfs7216 Not only that, the cars have brakes that are too strong- there’s no massive braking zones that allow them to outbrake each other.

@@Anon24052 You can try all the gimmicks you want it still wouldn't change much, the size of the F1 cars in relation to the track is the main issue.
F1 cars have been too long and too wide for Monaco for some years now.
I was at Indy. I’ve been to countless races across IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA, WoO, and local short tracks. The atmosphere there on that day was without a doubt the greatest I’ve felt at a track in my life, topping seeing Jeff Gordon’s final win

Even if modern F1 cars would be coffins on wheels like in the past, there is so much difference between engines and general speed that they wouldn't be that exciting
Yeah it's a real shame that the F1 cars have taken up half the track since the 1980s smh. Oh you meant the modern Hybrid cars? Yeah no they're less wide then the old cars, they take up less of the track then in the past actually. F1 racing was literally only ever wheel to wheel racing for like 7 total years spread out over it's entire history. The vast majority of F1 racing has always been really boring and spread out, across every generation. F1 has never been about wheel to wheel racing, we just got spoiled that like 5 of those 7 years were in the mid-to-late 2000s. Hell, for most of it's history the majority of overtakes were due to mechanical failures, you were basically just seeing which car made it to the end. Stop buying into the lie that the size of F1 cars has anything to do with their on-track overtake performance. Fast cars don't overtake as often, that's why the most exciting races you'll see are series where it's basically impossible for anyone to get more then a 2 or 3 second gap across the entire race.

Formula E at Monaco was fantastic, and that's from someone who thinks FE is usually a complete farce. The cars are the perfect size for the track, overtaking was hard but not impossible meaning every single one was spectacular. Just goes to show so many of F1's issues would be gone if the cars weren't bigger than a range rover.

It surprises me that the WRC cars fly that stable, back in 2013, the Citroën would fly stable, then drop the rear down, the Fords would nose down heavily
Well Greensmith did have an apparent issue with his car in that event, his car's nose was lifting up when airbourne.
A lot more aero for this generation. Will be less next year.
