Billy was very sick with cancer. He didn't have very long left ! He was not abel to stand the touring ! It was too too mutch on him ! God gave the world Billy ! And Billy gave his fans his music ! His fans gave him their loyalty fandom! And in the end Billy gave the world himself ! Music of his heart ! His truths !
Not one of Billy's best but back then you could understand the lyrics and they didn't contain expletives. he should never have tried that come back tour in 1983. The guy was far to ill and looked emaciated. A great young singer who past away just 48 hours after his last public appearance. Billy R.I.P.

Over colourful and silly film " I've got a horse 1965" made when the hits had all but gone, the fans were deserting him and he wasn't offering them what they wanted. Argue if you like, but that's the truth, if you oldies were buying his records in vast quantities he'd have kept on making song's, but you stopped, and his records weren't selling well. He had a better run than most of his contemporaries, Marty wilde and Joe Brown fizzled out and went into panto, both tried their luck in films, they were both in " what a crazy world 1963" which wasn't a bad film, but was dated when it came out, both also appeared in other films forgettable rubbish that's never shown. I sound quite bitter, I'm just a realist I'm afraid, I don't walk around saying how this or that person deserved more or could have been better, I'm not one for saying they were offered bad material etc, they were all paid exceptionally well for what they did, all drove around in big flash cars, wore expensive jewellery lived in lavish homes and lived a luxurious lifestyle, most earned more in a year that many of us earned in a life time. I remember seeing interviews with some of those singers back in the early 60s and reading articles in the papers on them. They were making about £1000 a week, that's back when you could buy a house for £3000. So they were earning this kind of money for a good 2 or 3 year's when they were having big hits and were regulars on tv shows each week like oh boy and touring etc. I remember seeing" play it cool" Biliys first film in 1962 at a cinema is Bristol, the place was packed, the film wasn't bad, A young ray Brooks was in it, his character had to be goofed up and he was made to wear glasses and unkempt hair, similar to the other youngsters who were with him in the film, make them look a bit dopey, so the attention was kept on Billy, which is fairly normal in all these types of films. At the time Fury was still a huge star and had been since about 1959. I probably saw most of these pop star vehicle's type films in the 1960s, some were good, some were ok, some were bad. One I saw was centred around teenagers wanting a right to vote, it was nothing more than a very thin plot and bands popping up and seeing one of their unknown song's. Alan Freeman was in it playing himself I think, the film was terrible.
It's was not people buying his records that counted, your wrong , the Beatles ,and stones, and the other groups , killed Billy fury .fans went towards them . Then it was the British invasion of America, and Billy fury , should have tried to break into the American market, that's where the money was , and if you want to be known.and successful, sad but true .Americans ,like gene Vincent ,Eddie Cochran, little Richard came here, but we'll never see the likes again .all gone , but the music 🎸🎶🎶🎶🎸
@@spartangreek9245 Billy Fury toured with Eddie Cochran n Gene Vincent in the UK and was planning to tour with them in America but Eddie Cochran n Gene Vincent had that terrible car crash n it obviously didn't occur.
Mr Tatlock. You seem to pop up all other CZcams with your negative comments on Billy. I wouldn't mind if they were factual. The same year this film was released, In Thoughts of You made the top ten. Billy was attempting to become an all round entertainer because already ill health was harming his career. 24 years of age and he was being prevented from touring and performing as much as he would have liked. Therefore, he was not able to respond to the beat boom. As for money, he was being paid a wage by his crook of a Manager which although more than the average salary at that time, was no where near what someone of his status should have earned. Hence his problems later in life. Why not take him for what he was. A brilliant singer and performer and one of the greatest these shores ever produced.
One of the U.K.’s best rock and roll singers in the 50’s and 60’s. RIP Billy.
