The MH-53J/M PAVE Low Helicopter is the largest, most powerful and technologically advanced helicopter in the Air Force inventory. Its mission is low-level, long-range, undetected penetration into denied areas, day or night, in adverse weather, for infiltration, exfiltration and resupply of special operations forces.

I think the USAF already got the V-22B、MH-47G and HH-60G to get the Pave Lows’ jobs done, the 53k is just too large for SO and CSAR missions🤔I think

I was a crew chief on the Pave Low. The USAF got the CV-22 just be for they retired the 53. The CV-22 was supposed to take the whole Pave mission but they found out that it couldn’t. They had to spread the mission to other airframe and branches. I retired in 2014 but from what I’ve heard they have been able to get the CV-22 to take a large portion of that mission but I don’t know for sure.
