Hi Anna! Cool video! Unfortunately it's unlikely that I would ever get to Rome. I've been to Chicago (USA) and there's practically a Starbucks on every other corner. I've heard a rumor, though I've never checked into it, that you can bring in your own mug?
Italy doesn’t mess around when it comes to coffee. They will also pay for someone that can’t afford it. Mostly it’s shots of espresso.

You can get takeaway coffee in bars! They all have those plastic cups. I say more: they've also a box for multiple cups, if you want, by example, take coffee to your office collegues.

Thank you for all these tips, they are super helpful. Everyone talks about using the fountains in Rome but I see people put their fingers on the spouts, that seems very unsanitary. Is that just me??? Thx

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel I strongly suggest you to visit also Garda Lake and if you like the beauty of nature, the mountains of Trentino Alto Adige and Belluno (Dolomiti mountains). you won't be disappointed and you can breathe another side of Italy totally different from the chaotic Rome

Quel maritozzo si può mangiare solo lì.

Been to Rome alot Almost every time the taxi driver TRIES to scam me. They all take the scenic route to an extent to Jack up the meter. I'm generally okay with that( if they only do it a bit) but the other scams; I don't let them get away with. I speak Italian adequately but they know I'm not a native because i have an accent.
Totally! I was told by the locals that it has changed and it’s nothing like this anymore… but I don’t feel like really trusting it if you know what I mean 😉
Considering it’s Italy, speaking Italian with no accent is not enough! You must speak not just Italian but (in Rome) Italian AND (most importantly) Roman dialect 😉
Try to speak with Milano accent here 😉😂 I have a feeling that it will be double price for you right away 🤣

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel it's better than it used to be but still a lot of scammers. For example , in December, we went from termini to Trevi Fountain 10 Euro there. No big deal. On the way back, immediately driver says 20 Euro to get back..I said, no 10 Euro. He states that it's later and the rates are higher..I start to walk away and then he says okay 10 Euro. He gets us back and it only reads 6.90 on meter and he says 10 and I gave it to him. If the taxi drivers took the direct route that trip should be around 7 Euro but it's always around 10 because they drove around to get a few more. I'm content with paying 10 but not 20 Euro.
Recently subscribed to your channel. Its great content and would like to ask the following questions since i will be going to Rome on March 19, 2024 and will be staying at Via dei Chiavari 20, Pantheon, 00186 Rome, Italy (Hotel Smeraldo) with our 80 year old mother and father.
1. You mentioned to take Uber since you pre-pay which I like since I don't wan to experience Taxi taking all these detours and getting more money. Are you referring to the UBER app or any other app which is similar to UBER?
2. We also want to buy a Murano Rosary as a gift, do you have any refutable place to buy the Murano Rosary?
3. Any recommendation on the best spot to view the Pope on Wednesday when he waves to the crowd, and is there any fee?
4. We have yet to purchase a tour to see the Sistine Chapel, do you have any tour recommendation?
Any other info that you can provide would be surely appreciated. Thank you for the great content and any guidance you can provide.

Murano glass is coming from Venice as far as I know 😁 Rome doesn’t have much to do with it 😉 but you’ll find plenty of spaces selling it

4 - online 😎 check all the tours online and go for ‘skip the line’ option

yes, they are professional drivers with a limousine license and not a taxi license, you can only book them and pay via the app and pay by credit card. they all have many relationships with foreign audiences and are paid per commute. Taxis, on the other hand, have special licenses and have parking areas as well as being bookable by telephone, you pay per ride and the fare is dictated above all by road traffic, in addition to the length of the journey. licenses are very expensive and are passed down. Taxis provide many services, especially for local users (for example, they also usually take people to the doctor or for short journeys in the city or to be picked up on the fly). With the arrival of Uber there was a real revolt in the entire country, the government had to intervene to safeguard the jobs of taxpayers, so they reached an agreement with Uber black.
