Mike Zito's Big Band - 'Resurrection' CD release party - The Kessler Theater, Dallas, TX. - 20210716

On 7/16 Mike Zito released his latest album 'Resurrection'. (It was also his 16th wedding anniversary). This was the first of two Texas album release shows, this one, at The Kessler Theater in Dallas, and at The Heights Theater in Houston the following night. Mike utilyzed the Big Band lineup for both shows. In addition to core members Matthew Johnson on drums and Doug Byrkit on bass, are Lewis Stephens (keyboards), Fernando Castillo (trumpet), and Eric Demmer (sax). This two hour set was split between tracks from Resurrection and favorites spanning Mike's career, including 'Corvette', 'Judgement Day', and 'Gone To Texas'. The encore was a great version of Hey Joe with frontman for the band Indigenous, Mato Nanji, joining in on guitar.
